I was consistently PTing in the low-mid 160s and BRing in the upper 160s. I just got my score back and it was 9 points lower than my most recent PT and two points lower than my August score. I am so discouraged and disappointed in myself. I know this test isn’t an intelligence test, but it sure feels like it. Going on over a year of studying and making gains right before this test, I was feeling so confident. I’m just at a loss for words and don’t know where to go from here. Sad.

Got 161 at Oct 2020, Jan 2021 and oct 2021.

I feel like the whole year had been wasted.

I scored 168 on both of the newest PTs, and I feel really confident at the October test.

Anyways, congrats to all who get what you want.

Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone can help me gain any information on my situation. I don't really have anyone who can give me advice.

I am trying to choose where to apply an ED, and I am between two schools. For school A, I am over their 75% LSAT by one point, but below their 25% GPA by .1 points. For school B, I am above their 25% GPA by .1 and above their 75% LSAT by 3 points.

I feel like I have a strong resume and a passionate PS/DS, but I don't know how much my lower GPA will affect me. School A is my top choice, but School B offers full tuition if you are admitted through ED.

Can anyone give me advice on the likelihood I could get into school A even being below the 25% GPA? I know its tough without seeing my resume, LORs, and statements. But hoping to get some insight because I am conflicted.

Thank you to anyone who can help!

I currently got my LSAT score for OCT back and unfortunately it was worse than what my average was. My last PT before the test I scored above my average, so honestly. WTF. Anyway, I love 7sage for LG but would like to know if you guys used additional material for LR or RC. I've used loophole, it's definitely helped, but now I'm thinking of taking January. Please let me know advice for these sections, and what worked for you. Thank you!!

Hi,

I got a 153 on the Oct test and this is NOT reflective of my abilities. I was PT around the low to mid 160s, and the week before the resceduled tests, I was EXHAUSTED. I was getting questions wrong, that I would have not gotten wrong before. I just didn't feel as motivated or like myself. The day of my test, I felt the same way. During the test, I felt like I was not in it, whatsoever! After the test, I knew I didn't do well, my heart and mind were not in it.

Now, I dont know whether I should cancel my score or keep it. Do schools look down on a cancel score, or would it look better to have the lower score and then a higher score?

I am signed up for the November test and I know what I am capable of!!

I am currently scoring around 172 with about -2 LR. People say the best way to learn is to teach, so I think if I explain my thought process in LR it will allow me finally close this gap. I could probably only be helpful for those scoring 164 and below. I'll probably be studying for a while today so feel free to stop by I'll just leave the zoom link here: https://nyu.zoom.us/j/9958274382

I have taken the LSAT twice, both times my score was almost 10 points under my practice tests. Very frustrating, very confusing. Practice tests average around 165, but actual test scores are 156 and 157. The articles I read said that students score comparably on the 3 and 4 section test formats. Maybe I was having test anxiety, maybe bad luck? 7sage recently introduced the flex score converter, and now I see that for me, there is a significant difference in my score based on the flex vs pre-covid test format. I'm feeling really frustrated. If the flex score converter had been available sooner, I would've studied differently the past 4 months. I'm trying to decide if I should cancel my 7sage subscription and just take my 157, or if I should focus on reading comprehension and logic games until January. Does anyone know if 7sage will apply monthly subscription fees towards the yearly subscription price? This is getting expensive, and I'm thinking it may be time to just cancel and accept the current score.

Started studying in June 2021. Have been studying pretty hard, especially since August. My diagnostic in June was a 149. Knowing I had an uphill battle to get to my target grade by October/November 2021 (I need to apply this cycle for personal reasons) I studied my @ss off...

  • Read all of PowerScore Logic Games (in my diagnostic, LG was by far the worst as I barely got past the first game...)
  • Read all of the LSAT Trainer by Kim
  • Read quite a bit of LSAT Prep Plus from Kaplan. Not all.
  • Got into 7Sage in August. Went through most of core curriculum (I did skip over sections I was very comfortable with and PT-ing well on due to time constraints) and also started PT'ing like crazy.
  • Between August and October test I completed all PT's. Every single one.
  • Since October and now I have tried to rest up as I was fairly worn out but I'm registered for the November test (wanted a backup) and have started to get back into my studying.
  • I am now redoing my oldest PT's. I would estimate at this point I have done upward of 130 full-length PT's since June 2021.
  • My issue is I'm just not seeing improvement in LG. RC I typically get -0 to -2. LR, I'm between -0 and -4. Realistically, I don't think I can improve those sections a huge amount more between now and November and in any case I would not need to but...ugh, LG...

LG I have achieved -0 before but it's kind of a freak occurrence. My all-time average is -5 but realistically I am very lucky to ever get below -4 and have, recently, got -7 on LG! I also typically always get -0 on Blind Review so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing, it just never quite goes smoothly on the timed sections, generally because I end up rushing at least one game or just falling for some trap answer. Or doing something dumb like splitting inappropriately. Kind of mistakes that I feel I should have overcome by now with this level of practice and stufy.

I don't really struggle on any particular game type other than 'misc', a little, but I'm not sure how one can really work on a 'miscellaneous' game type, because it is miscellaneous. So yeah, I'm really at a loss, especially given how many folks seem to find this the easiest section to consistently perfect and I feel like if I can't get consistently to a -2 then the 170 goal is always going to be out of reach. The October test was brutal for me for LG.

What REALLY annoys me is that this has been the case since at least September and I'm not sure what more I can do about it. I don't think I have time to re-do the curriculum or really spend a ton of time working on it because I work full time and definitely need to continue to maintain sharpness on the other sections so those don't slip. It's almost like I just need a little hack or 10 extra minutes or something. If only LSAC would give me accommodations!

Anyway, mainly just venting ...nd sort of wondering if anyone else is in a similar boat? Or has perhaps got themselves out of said boat? I don't have the best GPA so the high LSAT is really important to me. I'm also an older student, otherwise I'd take a year and get a tutor ;)

I have been studying for a while now (5 months) but have only managed to go up about 8-9 points. I did pretty poorly with my first diagnostic at a 142 and now scoring at roughly 151 (on a good day). Sometimes I score in the 148-150 range but I am just tired, stressed and quite honestly sacrificing too much of my mental health on this test. Should I take this as an indicator that law school might not be right for me. With an average score of 150 I wouldn't be getting into any worthwhile schools anyway. I have a 4.0 GPA while being an honors student but this test has just taken so much from me. I truly feel like giving up. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you and good luck to all taking the Nov LSAT.

Does anyone know if we can eat/drink in the view of the camera on test day during intermission? Or we must eat/drink away from the camera on test day? What are the snacks that we can bring for test day? I do not see this under FAQ LSAC.

    Thank you

Am I the only one who is genuinely feeling pooped after the OCT LSAT? I signed up for November but my studying has been almost non-existent since my test. I feel awful because I should've kept pushing but I've been studying since June 2020 and my brain is fried.

I am having a really hard time with RC. When I do full PT's and timed reading sections I am running out of time or rushing and getting -7 to -10 wrong. I definitely think that it is a timing issue because I have done 2 untimed reading sections and gotten -1 and -2. I am hoping to get down to -5 or less on RC in the next couple of weeks before the November test. What can I do to improve my timing? Any advice/tips/strategies is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A law school I'm applying to has an optional "Why law and Why X" essay.

I feel I can tie in my Why X reason into my personal statement.

Would it disadvantage me to include the Why X in the personal statement instead of writing a separate optional essay on the topic?

Hi, I am extremely confused on how the LSAT is graded, I've been studying for over a year now and can not figure it out. If one section is "experimental" and is "ungraded" why are we being graded out of all four sections on these prep tests? Is that the same way we'll be graded when taking the actual exam? Im just confused what the purpose of the experimental section is if we get graded on it as well.

    Hello 7Sage Community,

If anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution, I'd love to hear it!

If I'm the only one with it, then this is certainly awkward. Please feel free to jump out of this post and help someone with legitimate LSAT questions.

It appears Apple has designed its laptop screens with the express purpose of being magnets for fuzzies floating around the room. I'll clean my screen off before PTing, and then in a few minutes I'm legitimately waging war with my shirt sleeve on the lines of text I'm trying to read. I believe the problem is compounded because I use a dim light setting as well - any smudge or screen fuzz really sticks out. But putting the light on high irritates the hell out of my eyes.

I feel there are strong Napoleon Dynamite (where's my chapstick) vibes coming from this post - but in any case, just putting it out into the ether to see what thoughts are out there.

    Happy studying!

    Hi everyone!

So I just received notification that my Lawhub subscription will be expiring on October 31. This is not great timing as I'm writing the November LSAT and would only need it for (hopefully) a few more weeks. Is there any other way to renew access to this system rather than paying for the whole year or do I need to just bite the bullet and renew? The only other way I could think of was just using printable versions of the tests for the next few weeks as practice, but maybe I am overlooking something? Any suggestions? My timing is so bad..

I'm taking the test in November and all these discussion posts about proctor interruptions have me increasingly worried about experiencing similar issues on the day of my exam. Anyone care to share some positive experiences to help a fellow LSAT-taker out? Or any tips on how to overcome a proctor issue so it doesn't obliterate my chances of doing well on the test?
