For example, for PT5 S2 Q17, JY solves the question by referencing from his past game boards from past questions to eliminate a majority of the ACs.

Does everyone "save" their game boards like JY does? If so, how do you go about drawing each of them out under limited time? Do you just scribble relevant figures in similar positions without making a full board?

So far, I have been making master game boards using pen and erasing memos written in pencil before moving onto the next question.

I'm curious because I feel like using JY's technique might be a game changer for me. Thank you.

Test taking skills

I am having a hard time working under the time given in the exam as well as focusing on the questions. I feel as if my score is only low because I am leaving a lot blank. Can anyone advise me on how I can focus and read faster?

Any tips please assist me, I know I can do better than the grade I am receiving.

Hey guys, when it comes to set the game board do you follow "JY method" or do you make your own game board. I would love to hear you guys' outlook Thank You.

First off, thank you 7Sage for everything. I’ve had a great admissions cycle as a result. I’m wondering if any current law students or anyone else has any personal anecdotes or thoughts about either of these Jersey schools?

I can't believe I am writing this today.

I began my LSAT journey in May 2021. I had a diagnostic of 140. After months, and months of studying, I took the LSAT in October. I was PT around 158-159, but the server crashed the day of my exam, so I was had to write it a week later. Burnt out, I wrote the LSAT - I honestly can't remember it. I got a 153. I was devastated. I took it again in November... I got a 158. I knew I could do better. I wrote it in Jan and got a 160! I was happy!! I wasn't sure if it would be enough to get in to law school because I had a lower GPA... but this morning I got my first acceptance!!!

I am thrilled and so so happy. I am so incredibly proud of myself and cannot wait to see what the future holds. I am the first in my immigrant family to get a J.D. so to say that my whole family is thrilled is an understatement!!

To those who think they cant do it... just know... YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE!

NYC June LSAT study group?

I saw that the December NYC group had a ton of replies and was wondering if anyone is interested in doing one for June. I live in upper Manhattan and can commute (as long as its under 1 hour each way).

I work full time and also am in grad school so weekends work the best for me but I can also do some week nights as well. Strengths are RC and some LG but currently terrible at LR, so I will be focusing on those quite a bit.

I am a mid 160s scorer with my best score being a 170. I am trying to consistently enter the 170s but my RC is always the most subject to variation it would seem. I have LR and LG down to almost mastery, but every time I do RC I vary from minus 2 to minus 10 and it is deeply frustrating at times. My question to you is how did you improve the best in RC and how did you obtain more consistent scores? I always feel like I get lost trying to find information in the passage, especially with the time constraint. Good pacing strategies also help.

What is PTA?

Hi all! I noticed that in the Problem Set section, under Logic Games Core Curriculum, some games are labeled as PTA. What does that mean? Thanks!

Study group strategies

asking anyone that has been a part of a study group for study group advice

couple of questions that immediately come to mind:

  • optimal range of study group members?
  • where should the members be in the study progress
  • basically, if you've been a part of a successful study group: what did you guys do?

and, if you've been a part of an unsuccessful study group: why was in unsuccessful, what would you have done differently?

tagging @"Scott Milam" because he reached out regarding study groups

    thank you!

    Study Strategies

This is my first time studying since August of 2021. I studied full time from August 2020 to April 2021 and part time until August 2021. Took 3 LSATs and had a score regression 165-161-158. At this point I've used most of the LSAT material available. Redoing the questions I worked on the longest time ago. Right now my strategy is to focus on why the wrong answers are wrong instead of searching for the right answer, especially when I think I remember the answer to a question. Any advice on other strategies that would help someone who has exhausted the practice tests and questions?

    LSAT Limit

Is there a limit to how well you can do? I've been at this for over a year and a half now, worked with multiple tutors and put my all into it, but I just can't improve into the 170's. I honestly am just at a loss right now and about to take the March test. I've been missing the same number of questions for the past 6 months despite changing strategies, learning new strategies, etc. I just am feeling very hopeless. My LSAT score will probably be the factor that holds me back from getting into the schools I want. I went to a top 5 school, did extremely well, and have a great resume, but I can't crack the LSAT no matter how hard I try.

    LSAT Tutor

I'm looking for an affordable LSAT tutor I can meet with at least twice a week. We will mainly work on RC and LR. If you are a tutor, feel free to private message me and we will go from there. Thank you!

I live in Phoenix. Studied full time from August 2020 to May 2021. Took 3 LSATs from January 2021 to August 2021 165-161-158 respectively. Haven't touched LSAT review material since August 2021. Averaged mid 160s in the two months prior to my August LSAT. Looking for a tutor that averages a 172 or above that can help me score in that range by August.

Please do not reply "interested." If you are interested, add me as a study buddy via 7Sage and/or send a direct message. I am looking only for folks who are already scoring between 166-169 and looking to break into 170+. I am capping this group at 5 people, including myself, to ensure efficient BR. I am looking to BR each Sunday from now until the June exam, so you must be available then (exact time is flexible).

this is definitely a silly question but I'm so confused on how to score myself when I take PT's - I am taking the April 2022 LSAT, so there will be 3 scored sections and 1 unscored section. When I am taking practice tests, do I count my correct answers from ALL 4 sections and then look at the score conversion chart here: https://classic.7sage.com/lesson/how-to-understand-your-lsat-score/?ss_completed_lesson=9449

... or do I just count my correct answers from 3 sections? if that's the case, then what score conversion chart do I look at? how do i know which section is the unscored section? really unsure how to get a sense of how I'm scoring :/

Hi guys! Hope y'all had a great weekend! Just a really quick question for you guys.

So… JY's memory method didn't work for me at all-- I tried this a WHILE ago multiple times. Nicole's strategies, however, have been far more helpful to me. Now, do you guys think that these two methods are complementary? I feel like they are quite different…if not the opposite. I've been really confused. Oh yes, Mike Kim's RC tips do help too and his is more closely aligned with Nicole's. Like Mike's, Nicole's strategies don't require that we memorize the key components of the contents even though I do concur that both methods insist that we focus on the reasoning structure. Has anyone felt the same before? I'd like to know what y'all think about this. Thanks!

Hi! Want to clarify one of the answer choices from prep 18.

I usually don't spend too much time on analyzing specific vocabulary, but this one I need to clarify it..!

    For answer choice on q10,

I still don't get 'completely' on (a) being okay.

Normally, when 'completely' appears on other types of questions such as flaw, I would regard it as 100% certainty and eliminate answer choices if there's a chance of showing 99% certainty or below.

In the stimulus, there wasn't any mention whether deterioration happens 'completely'.

Maybe it stops at some point without being completely deteriorated.

I get 'probably' means 'almost all' and this doesn't bother me at all, but 'completely',, am I too obsessed with a single word? Or is it a problem of older LSATs?

    Help me!

Admin note: Edited title. Please use the format: "PT#.S#.Q# - brief description of question"

Hello 7 sage, I was trying to find any notation/annotation methods and strategies for RC but unfortunately couldn't find any. Can anyone please provide me with the link to them. I saw references of methods from @Pacifico and Nicole Hopkins but couldn't find them =(

    Hey everyone?!

I find myself having major issues with grouping games especially open games. Anyone willing to share some advice or care to tell me what resources has helped you the most with grouping games? It’s the main issue that is impacting my LG score.

    Thanks in advance!
