Does anybody know how CAS will calculate my GPA if my school does not give out letter grades or percentages? My school uses .5 blocks (3.0,3.5,4.0) without regard to specific percentages. A 93% is a 4.0 just as much as a 98% is a 4.0.

For example, on my transcript it will say:

Class A 3.5

Class B 4.0

Class C 4.0

Thanks

Hey guys,

I scored a 155 on the november LSAT. I did practice tests 74-89 and the flex exams. I want to get into the 160's. I am really unsure on how to study for this month and a half. Any advice?

"have another question about what JY means by memorizing all the inferences for the logic games. Lets say I memorize all the inferences like he says, the problem I is when test time comes I will be presented with a brand new logic game with a completely different set of inferences than I have memorized. The moment I'm given a new test wouldn't I be starting at square one again? Or isn't it like being asked to memorize a maze in order to find your way around a completely different maze? Am I not understanding something? Is is not so much "memorizing" as it is consciously understanding all of the inferences? Because if I memorize all of the inferences then I can get through the game without even thinking about what I'm doing. Does that make sense? Thanks for your help."

When I go back to the older games, I just completely blank out on them and need to watch video explanations to even have a shot but I feel by memorizing the game, it somehow takes away from the learning process? What am I supposed to do when I am stuck on a game?

Hi everyone!

So, I am a re-taker, but have taken a few years away from the LSAT. I took it twice (little studying for the second attempt) and received a 154 both times. I'm shooting for the upper 160s-170s and would love an accountability/study buddy to keep each other accountable. I work full-time though completely remote thanks to COVID, but find most study time during the evening and/or on the weekends. If you're looking for something similar let me know!

Best of luck to everyone!

My PT average is roughly 168 over my past 7 PT's. I scored a 166 on the Nov flex and am aiming for 172+ on the January flex.

I usually do pretty well on LG/LR (-0 to -3) and around -5 to -8 on RC. I'd like to find a partner who's stronger on the RC side of things with similar scores otherwise.

I have most of my 60's to 80's left and will be doing 2 PT's a week from this range for the next 2-3weeks followed by 3 PT's a week thereafter until the Jan flex. I'd like to find a partner to compare BR's with via zoom or something for each PT if possible.

I made a similar post and didn't follow up about a two weeks ago with a lot of people because I took a hiatus in studying, but I promise I'll reach out this time!

Cheers

Hello!

This questions is LR and QS ends in "logically completes the argument" making it a MSS or MC question (I believe MSS but I could be wrong about that.

"Rate of inflation and Rate of Return."

If anyone has a good understanding of the question and the answer choices, I am very lost as to how to get to the correct answer.

Thank you!

Hi all!

I'm new to 7sage, but am so excited to learn more from all of you. For some reference, I scored a 146 on the November LSAT after studying using Kaplan for three months prior. I am determined to get at least a 157-163, but I feel like to really get that I would need some study buddies. If you too are in the same LSAT range and are planning to take the February LSAT and want to form a group, please reach out and let me know! I feel like studying for this test is more bearable in a group.

I took the LSAT in November and got a 162, which I'm more than happy with. My target schools all have medians in the high fifties, but my dream school is University of Washington. Their median LSAT 25-75 is 157/162/165, so I'm right on the median. In undergrad, I basically didn't consider graduate school until my last two years. My GPA suffered for that and I graduated with a 3.37. UW's GPA 25-75 is 3.46/3.69/3.81. Do you guys think it's worth it to apply if I have the median LSAT and a GPA below the 25th percentile? My softs are pretty good, but I don't think I have any reason to include an addendum explaining my GPA. Thank you in advance!!!

Hello,

I took the GRE two years ago in the course of applying to a masters program and I am now applying for law school for Fall 2021. I took the November test and got a 162, however my GRE score converts to a 166 LSAT according to ETS's tool. Due to extenuating circumstances (an unsanctioned bathroom break during the section break that resulted in the proctor messing around with my system and giving me warning messages that disrupted my test-taking and and then my frame-of-mind going forward) I'm fairly certain I can improve my LSAT score to at least what ETS would predict. On the other hand, I see all sorts of talk about increased application numbers this year indicating I should apply early. My question is: should I apply now using my GRE to the schools that accept GRE's with an addendum for the poorer LSAT performance? Or should I wait until I take the January test to apply with that likely better LSAT? I guess another pertinent question would be are their class profile statistics affected by my 162 even if I apply primarily with my GRE score? Thanks. I know this is a pretty singular situation I find myself in but hopefully someone has some good advice.

Hi, I took the LSAT in August scored a 138. I retook in November and used the LSAT Trainer and really studied. I scored a 134. I dont even know how thats possible. What do you guys think I can score by January Lsat?? I don't understand why I'm doing so bad. I start 7 sage today.

Long story short, I've taken the LSAT 3 times. Please I don't want to hear, "well if it hasn't worked yet then you're not meant to go to law school." I took the test in October and I was not on my A game. That's not what I'm asking. It's my dream and I'm giving it one more go. I'm so hopeless with LG. Doesn't matter how many explanations or charts I see I'm stuck in the same spot I have been for 5 years. I've accepted that LG and I will never happen. I'm trying one more time for the test in April. I spent almost a month from the beginning of November to now just focused on LG and I have squat. Now I don't need a score in the 160s or 170s to go the schools I want, I'll settle for anything in the 150s. I'm starting to think of methods how I can still achieve this. Would it be smart that if in around another month I still haven't made progress in LG to focus on getting more points in LR and RC? Because since the flex test is around 74-78 questions, based on a score calculator, I would need to get about 40 right to be in the 150s. I'm open to any kind and respectful advice. Good luck to everyone.

NOTE: This thread will be constantly edited to contain upcoming tutoring sessions.

Hello 7sagers!

During this session, we'll be going over how to approach SA and PSA questions using the J07 PT. Hope to see you there!

A few additional things I want to mention so we can all get the most out of the session:

Please refrain from looking at the correct answer choices when we are going through problems. It is to your benefit to be unaware so you can learn about the process!

Please make sure your microphone is on mute during the session, unless you are the person volunteering to help answer a question.

I will be asking for volunteers throughout the session. If you would like to volunteer, please type it in the chat box. Please volunteer! I promise I don't bite, and you can only come out of it with learning something new.

The session will last around two hours, questions unrelated to the topic at hand should be saved until the end.

If you learned something helpful, all I ask for payment is that you share the knowledge with others that could be struggling. After all, we rise by lifting others up.

Let me know if ya'll have any questions. Hope to see you there!

Chris Nguyen is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

I have some T30 acceptances already and one of them gave me full tuition+stipend. I was thrilled when I got the offer– it's in a region where I want to work, and I can graduate almost debt-free. It looked like an amazing deal at the time, but after a month of scrolling the web, my excitement is gone.

I'm getting negative vibes from online fora about that school, along with every other regional school. Looking around on Reddit/TLS, people are saying mean things about law schools outside the T20– terminally low salaries, high risk of unemployment, no prospect for career advancement, and being "stuck" in that region "for the rest of my life". Based on these posts, it looks like no one should go to law school if it's not a T20 or a T14 school. Is what they're saying true? Should I throw an ED app to a T14?

Career-wise, I don't want biglaw/federal clerkship. I'm thinking about criminal defense for a little while, and then going into politics in some legal capacity (e.g. legal advisor for a public official, or running for office myself). Is a prestigious degree necessary to make that happen?

Hey all -

I thought I had my personal essay nearly ready to go, but yesterday I had a call with an attorney just to chat about the application process, school, etc. and now I'm rethinking the entire thing.

Anyone want to swap?? I'd love to hear some feedback and I am happy to provide some to others looking for it as well!

Hi everyone!

I am excited to say that I will be leading BR Calls for PT76 with the next session on Friday, December 18th at 6PM EST

We will be focusing on the second LR section of this PT (Section 4).

In the process of going through the blind review I hope to touch on good test-taking strategy, good reading habits, differentiating attractive answer choices, and more. Hopefully there will be something useful for everyone here!

The link is posted below!

Also, here are a few housekeeping matters about the session:

A. Unfortunately, due to LSAC policy, I will not be able to share my screen with the test questions up. So to get the most out of the session, I recommend having your own copy of the PT, regardless if it is digital or paper.

B. Please do not go over the answers on your own before our session, since the more that we can work through the reasoning as a group, the more we will learn together.

C. Although I encourage participation and will be asking for volunteers both to read the passages and answer questions, please have your microphone on mute if you are not being called upon and also try to be in a reasonably quiet place if possible.

D. I plan to keep this thread going and will add dates for future sessions at the bottom as I finalize the dates. I will update the title to reflect the session date that is soonest!

Next Session: PT76 Logical Reasoning (Session 4)

Additional Sessions: TBA

I look forward to seeing all of you soon! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

So I was trying to understand what is different about the LSAT-flex and noticed on the LSAC website it said it is made up of 3 sections: Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension. So there is no logic games section on the flex version or am I missing something?

Hi all! I've been grappling with this decision for the last week or so, since receiving my November score. Before the official test i was PTing in the mid to high 160s but my ultimate score was 158. I had also taken it in October and scored at 146. I really want to apply to law school this cycle but I also have a full-time job until the end of January. I'm focusing on t-14s and have a 3.74 GPA so I know that I need a much better score than that. I'm just feeling a lot of pressure to apply this cycle from my family :(

I'm URM and really need that scholarship money so I think it would be best to wait and apply early next cycle to make sure I secure those scholarships but I've also been hearing that there are people with my score and background that could potentially get into top schools. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts? Would greatly appreciate! :)

Hello!

I am currently going through the 7Sage Core curriculum and am looking to test in January. I am a fee waiver recipient and was wondering if there was free/low cost high quality 1:1 tutoring available.

Thank you!

I read an article online saying applications are up 30% this year and it has me wondering if January is gonna be too late to apply for this cycle? I’m driving myself mad wondering if I should retake or apply with the 153 I received on the November flex..

Thinking about calling the school I really wanna go to and see if they could make any recommendations tomorrow but I’m the meantime, what do y’all Sagers think?
