I am filling out the application for Berkeley - it asks the following,

Do you currently hold any binding commitment, such as a binding deferment or binding early decision commitment, at any other law school? If you answer yes to this question you must email our office immediately to explain the circumstances.

If I applied ED somewhere else, that requires me to say yes to that question right?

I am applying to a Canadian school (not sure if its the same in the states) and you need to submit 2 verifiers of your PS along with the 2 references. I was just wondering who would be the best people to use? Can it just be friends who have known you for a long time?

thx

Hello -

I've been out of college for five years and I'm struggling to decide what to include in my resume. I'm planning on having sections for 1) my work experience (won't be super long because I've only held two different jobs since graduating) 2) my education and 3) some during college and post college activities.

Mostly what I'm struggling with is that because I've had full time jobs, some long communtes, etc. I haven't had the time to be involved like I was in college. In college I was VP of very large service fraternity, president of another club, etc. The only post-college activity I can think of that may be of interest is starting a book club.

Thoughts on how much (if any) of my college activities to keep? They do strongly correlate to the kind of law I want to do (public interest).

Cancel or not?

Hi everyone, I recently took the lsat flex in November. Based on numerous practice tests I have taken, my intuition is telling me I didn’t achieve the score I had looked for. I’m in a weird position because I have one absence on my record due to an illness on test day. I also took the lsat in June and I got a 153. If I cancel the November flex will it look really bad? Those who I have talked to said things happen in regards to the absence, but I am worried if I cancel this November flex it will look bad on my application. I also believe my score is less than a 153 so I think a lower score would look worse than a cancellation. Some insight would be great. Thanks.

Hi!

I'm a reapplicant and I'm thinking of sending in my apps this month.

I was just wondering if I would have to rewrite my why x essays as a reapplicant.

I've wrote a completely new PS but I'm not sure if I can write a new why essay without sounding too forced and generic.

Any opinion would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Does anyone know whether it's possible to assign an additional letter of recommendation to a school after I've already sent in the application and my file is complete? For context, the additional recommender already had uploaded his letter to LSAC, but I decided later to assign his letter to the particular school. I know LSAC's website says that they'll send an updated CAS report if they receive a letter for a recommender that you've already assigned, so I'm unclear as to whether I can actually assign a recommender after the fact...

I'd love to hear thoughts from anyone who has experience with this!

I was wondering what fellow 7 Sagers think regarding law schools having online teachings for next year. Are schools going to continue to teach classes online? If so, could one apply to more schools with the potential of not having to move as the instruction would be online? When the school then goes back to in person learning, could one transfer back to a school in their home area?

What are your thoughts?

Thank you and have a great day!

Because of technical difficulties and a terrible ProctorU experience on the November Flex, I decided to accept a voucher from LSAC and retake in January. This means that my score has been canceled and the cancelation will be visible to law schools. Any idea on how schools view a situation like this? Will my situation require an addendum?

I plan to apply next cycle. I took the test for the first time in August, panic registered for November, got my score (mid-160s), and then had to postpone to January due to a professional conflict. I haven't looked at a PT or logic game since score release. Ironically, I got my highest ever PT score after score release, 172, so I know I'm capable of doing better than I did on test day, especially if I grind hard over the next two months. And hopefully if they get some technical issues taken care of by then because I know for a fact some of the proctoru struggles negatively impacted my score. My GPA is decent, it's right around the current medians for most of the schools I'm interested in but I have several withdrawals on my transcript due to a medical condition that went undiagnosed virtually all of undergrad, so I know even with an addendum explaining that I've since received a diagnosis and have it under complete control, some eyebrows are understandably going to be raised. I'm hoping a high LSAT score will offset at least some of the concerns admissions committees may have. But I also know a mid-160s is at or above medians if not 75th percentiles for several schools I'm interested in. I'm also chasing money because I do NOT want to pay sticker wherever I end up going. And I think the money concern is part of why I'm hesitating because I can't get my money back at this point if I do withdraw because I was originally registered for November, I assume.

As an extra layer of fun, I work full-time in the field of law I want to eventually practice and I've just applied for two jobs that would in essence be promotions if I received them. If I received one in particular, I'd essentially need to stay in the job for 3 years to really get as much benefit as possible, financially as well as professionally. I know LSAT scores are good for a few years so I'm not worried about that at all, it's more of a question of if I get either of these jobs my plate will get much fuller because I'll either be learning a whole new sector of my field or I'll have increased responsibility within the office compared to what I have now.

So what do you guys recommend? Sticking with January and just grinding for two months? Postpone until February/later? Or just withdrawing and counting myself extremely lucky to have done as well as I did on my first shot?

Im sorry if this is a dumb question but I am working on my applications for schools and I wanted to write a Why X essay for a school I am interested in; however, I am not sure where I would submit this essay...would I send it to the school through email or attach it somewhere on the application?

Hey everyone, I'm starting to Fool Proof games to really get a better feel for these. Do you suggest I start at 1 and go to 35 that way or should I go by easiest Sequencing, In/Out, Grouping etc. and fool proof by those groups and then work my way up from easiest to hard? I feel like the first way is better but any feedback would be great. Thanks everyone!

So I tried to do my flex through proctor u yesterday and was not able to write, so they are moving it friday.

Context:

I absolutely hate proctor u. I patiently waited at my desk at 5pm, my exam was at 540pm, and ended up not being able to do my test or fixing any issues at 8. The impression from yesterdays customer service and technical support was actually horrible. This was not because of wait times but because they seemed to not have any organization, their chat people would not responded after 40mins of inactivity trying to “fix my issue” when I checked in if they were there, I was hung up on 3 times, the chat support passed me on around 4 times before being like “okay, lets actually move this dude to tech support”.

Anyways, ya end rant. I was very upset by the whole experience.

Edit: Closed while I go through responses. Will update if I can take on more.

I think I've responded to everyone. If I missed you please shoot me another message.

As opposed to bumping my last post, I'm making a new one as people's situations change fairly quickly with regard to this test.

Am looking to tutor 1-2 people at no cost. My only requirement is that you have finished the CC lessons (not necessarily all the problem sets), or some other course and are currently PT'ing.

  • I've been on 7sage since January 2020, and have also done KA, Trainer, Loophole, and the Powerscore Bibles.
  • My last PTs are 174, 172, 171, and I have done multiple flex administrations. Still reaching for that mid to high 17x (fingers crossed for November).
  • Just started tutoring this test, but I do have significant experience in military & law enforcement training roles, and have been a public school sub-teacher for about a year.
  • Background is in Psychology/Sociology... non-trad... guy... been through one application cycle... dunno if any of that that matters.
  • I am in Hawaii (UTC -10) and would typically be most available morning to early afternoon... so like mid-day to evening if you are CONUS.
  • I can focus on any area of the test, or just provide general approach/materials recommendations.
  • I benefited a lot from just a few lessons with a couple tutors here, and would like to help someone else while hopefully refining my own approach to this test. Please take a look at my post history here and see if you think I might be able to help you. Obviously fit is important, so I want to make sure what I can offer will help you (and by extension help me!).

If interested please post in this thread then send me a DM as well... I use both to keep track of order and comms. Also please try not to flake... doing this for free here because this community is great and I've benefited from it immensely, but am also dividing my time between other platforms to try and make some $ to offset the covid related lack of teaching jobs right now.

One time sessions and ongoing arrangement are both fine. We can start as soon as today! Will maintain this post with pertinent updates.

    Hi all,

I recently sat for the Nov LSAT. I put in my ear buds, took a deep breath even did some meditation right before the test. But when I started I feel like I could hear my heart pounding through my earbuds. In the beginning of the LR the first question felt like a blurr but I was able to come back after and I felt okay and got the correct AC because I calmed down. But then 3-4 questions my brain just couldn't focus on the content because of the nerves.

Typically, after drilling so many games. I've gotten to the point where I get -0 --2 on games on PTs but this time I just couldn't figure out the second game completely and I think I might have underperformed in games because of it.

To everyone that can stay calm and relaxed during the real LSAT, how did you get to this point and what are some of your tips?

I don't understand why the answer to this is not D. It says in the prompt that insectivorous plants can survive in soils that are too low in minerals for non-insectivorous plants. Is the issue the word "different"? Insectivorous can survive in at least 1 more environment, (low in soil minerals) than non-insectivorous. I see why E is the answer but I want to know the reason for eliminating D.

    Hey guys,

So like most of you, I just did the Nov flex and I have to say.... LG killed me. I usually score really well on LG so that left me feeling confident that I will have to take the Jan lsat to get my goal score.

Is there anyone who wants to make a study group, or knows of any study groups on discord or etc where we can help each other?

    THANK YOU in advance :)
