Is the january 2021 LSAT too late to make applications for 2021 school year?

I'm wondering if anyone with admissions insight can tell me if there's a big difference between applying in mid-late October vs mid-late November. I took the exam yesterday and didn't feel great about it (mis-wrote a rule, had to spend more time than normal on one game, ran out of time on LG which is uncharacteristic; I had been PT-ing in the low-170s). I'm signed up for the October exam but now I'm wondering if I should try for November as well. It would push back my admissions timeline and I know earlier is better, but I don't know how consequential it is before American Thanksgiving.
This was my second LSAT experience. I was supposed to take it yesterday, but I had a nightmare experience with internet connection and an unhelpful proctor so I took it this morning.
I deal with severe, diagnosed anxiety, thus I use accommodations. Yesterday I felt so calm and ready, and things going wrong really shook me. I practiced a lot of yoga, breathing, mindfulness, and self care to get just reset and try today.
My test order was LR-RC-LG
I am not sure what went wrong but halfway through the 1st LR section I had a panic attack. I managed to answer as much as I could, but had about 10-11 LR questions flagged. I usually miss 3-7 there in practice. I cried a little bit during the break, then I did my yoga, breathing, mindfulness again to regroup myself. I felt better after taking my time sitting down and doing the reading section. I saw a lot of people say it was very hard. It wasn't terrible as I expected, but one prompt was difficult for me (which is fine RC is usually my weakest). I had about 8 questions flagged there that I just was not sure about... (of course I may get other things wrong since Idk why RC is my toughest).
I took my other break and my LG felt pretty awesome. I feel confident about every answer I gave. I know sometimes people can get answers wrong due to over confidence, but it did feel easier than normal.
I think i easily missed 20-25 questions during this test. Unfortunately, score preview isnt an option for me, since I took my test the first time in May. I'm not sure if I should cancel?? My first score was a 151. I was trying to get a higher score (higher 150's - best case 160's). The calculators make it seem worst case it would be the same score? Idk what to do..
I am URM with a disability and low income. I felt a lot of pressure to get a higher score for scholarships, but never been the best standard test taker. I worked super hard for a year now and my practice tests improved from a 128 to my best PT 161. My average test scores from the past 9 practice tests have averaged about 155. All of my counselors say that my resume is very extraordinary and will help me stand out. My Undergrad GPA was a 3.58 from a top 20 school.
Sorry this is long I just wanted to give context. I am afraid to cancel it because what if it is slightly higher score than 151. I am also afraid if I don't cancel it, will a score lower than 151 hurt how I'm perceived by the schools?

Hi! I just took the August LSAT, but I think I'm going to take the November test, too. I'm currently scoring in the low-mid 160s, but I'm hoping to reach the high 160s/low 170s by Nov. Please let me know if you want to study together! (Currently living in the EST)
Hi,
I'm a new user for 7Sage and I was wondering if I can use the platform with a physical copy (or scanned PDF) of the exam. I understand that LSAT Prep Plus is required in order to have access to the exams, but would it be possible to use 7Sage with physical/PDF versions of the exams instead?
Thank you!
So I didn't purchase a score preview for the August test. I want to purchase it now if its still possible, but I cannot find where on LSAC the option to purchase it is. Does anyone know if I can still buy the score preview, and if so where on LSAC? I went through the whole website.
Thanks
I can't distinguish between A and E- I originally chose A and then overthought it in BR and chose E. #help
Admin Note: Edited title. For RC questions, please use the format: "PT#.S#.Q# (P#) - brief description of stimulus."
I don't understand how B is wrong; I understand how D is the correct answer and I went back and forth, but ultimately thought that the argument had no basis if they couldn't use recycled materials in the first place?? I get why D is the best choice, but I can't articulate or figure out why B is wrong #help
Hi, does anyone want to be study buddies on Zoom? I would love to meet 2x a week on Thursday and Sunday evenings for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This would start this Thursday, September 3rd. I think this would be a great accountability tool. I am planning on taking the November exam and I am very serious about my studies. Please drop your email in the comments so that we can chat! Thanks :)!
I am taking the LSAT in October and November and am applying in hopefully November or December. Should I start thinking about my application materials like personal statement now, or should i spend all my time studying for the LSAT?
White heterosexual male here. Ergo, don't have any 'typical' diversity factors and I'm curious if I could write a diversity statement about the languages that I have learned/studied.
I actually think I have an interesting story to tell around learning languages - committed myself in High School to learning another language because I thought it would let me see the world through another lenses (the linguistic/psychological research actually says that this is not one of the many benefits of bilingualism lol); self-studied Arabic for 9 months - FAILED, self-studied Spanish for ~1 year - FAILED, self-studied French and it actually worked out! I was able to teach English in France and have around a ~C1 proficiency (can communicate well but not fluently). From there I studied Chinese (studied abroad) and got my HSK 3 which is a true intermediate level and have also circled back to Spanish and am working on that which is slowly improving.
Don't want to write another essay per se but I'm hoping to be able to express how intellectually curious I am since I didn't attend a prestigious undergrad (although have solid GPA). In general, learning languages have also been a big part of my adult life and I feel like it would be important to include.
On the flip side, I don't want this to feel like a stretch especially because I am not claiming actual fluency in anything but English lol.
Thoughts?
Does anyone have any tips on how to improve concentration? Not so much in LG, but in LR and RC I find myself having to read the stimulus multiple times because of not being able to focus while I'm reading it. I can barely sit through a whole PT. I'm not sure if it's from nerves from it being timed or what, but any tips would be appreciated. Study tips, lifestyle changes, I will try anything
Afternoon everyone. Posting so hopefully no one else will encounter the problem I just had on my test.
There seems to be a glitch with the Proctor U system on a mac. Specifically, if you try to click on the LSAC hub's answers, move-to-new-question button, to cross off answers, or basically any other button while full screen, it can spaz out. The first five minutes of my test was me clicking in different ways hoping it would start working while waiting for the proctor to respond.
I got lucky thought, because I minimized my screen and was then able to click properly.
So for MAC folks -- I'd recommend not going into full screen at all, or at least knowing about this possible fix.
Good luck everyone.
Are the latest LSAT testing dates subject to change for the summer? I noticed the latest date is in April which is unlike previous years which go well into the summer—Is there a chance later testing dates will be created in the future?
Thank you.
Hi everyone! My name is Maddie, and I am new here to 7Sage! A little bit about myself - I've been out of undergrad for three years and I currently work in BigLaw as a legal assistant in IP Litigation in Boston, MA. I'm hoping to take the LSAT in summer 2021 (not sure of the month since 2021-2022 dates haven't been released yet, but at max study for a year for the August 2021 LSAT).
I'm at the beginning of the CC (Main Point questions) and I'm looking for a study buddy/accountability partner to go through the CC, do blind review on untimed sections, and maybe even timed practice preptests when it gets to that stage. Due to the global circumstances, my preference would be to meet online via Zoom, Facetime, Skype, etc. I'd ideally like to meet once or twice a week since I work full-time, so weekday nights/weekends would work for me. I'm also open to creating a study group if more people are interested in working with me!
Hi all! The discussion title is somewhat depressing, but I'm genuinely interested in what people think. Law school has always been my plan from undergrad - now (1 year out of school), but I'm really struggling with the LSAT, to the point where I think I might just not be a good fit for law school and the work of a lawyer.
To give you some context, I started 7sage's CC and skimmed Powerscore's books last august and finished it throughout the year while working full-time. After that, I did Cassidy's Loophole book. I wasn't totally committed to studying because I was overwhelmed with my day job, but once covid hit, I had more time, so I started PTing in April 2020. Since then, I think I've gone through around 40-50 PTs as both drills and BR (for RC, I did all the passages from PT 1-70). My diagnostic PT was a 154 and then after CC, Powerscore, Cassidy, it was a 158. I peaked at a 167 in one of the earlier tests, but my average would have to be a 159-160 (LR - 8, LG -2, RC -10). Because my GPA hits right at the median, if I were to go to a school that I think is worth it, I'd have to score at least a 169, which I'm far from hitting.
I'm feeling extremely discouraged and studying just isn't enjoyable at all. A youtuber (who went to SLS) noted in one of her videos that the LSAT is similar to the kind of work/studying you'll do in law school, and I'm wondering maybe I'm just not cut out for law and should just cut my losses and pivot to a different career altogether.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or questions I should be reflecting on...
Hey 7Sagers,
Here's the official August 2020 LSAT-Flex Discussion Thread.
**Please keep all discussions of the August 2020 LSAT-Flex here!**(/red)
Rules:
❌ You can't discuss specific questions. 🙅♂️
You CANNOT say things such as the following:
I picked C for both during the timed run and blind review.
I read from another post that C is wrong because it's mixing up the sufficiency and necessity condition but I'm still not seeing that this is the case.
In the last sentence of the stimulus it says, "Clearly then to maintain military deterrence, a nation would have to be believed to have retaliatory power so great..."
I translated this sentence to MD --> Belief and I thought it was bi-conditional.
Belief --> Military deterrence
Military deterrence --> Belief.
Is this the wrong way to translate that sentence? I can see how D is correct but I'm not able to eliminate C because of this confusion.
Could someone clarify this little bit more?? Thank you!
In a sufficient assumption question (and also, I could imagine the scenario w/ "which of the following would justify" questions or strengthen questions), if the stimulus contains a set of statistics, can the answer be "the stated statistics are correct"? It seems like this can never be the answer. I know that premises can't be directly attacked in a weaken question. So it seems that directly affirming a premise (and adding no other info) wouldn't be something that the testmakers would do on the reverse side.
Hi all,
Title says it all. Does the Digital LSAT allow us to use the dark mode available on 7Sage when taking PTs/Problem Sets?
Thanks.
In other words, does a necessary assumption of an argument strengthens the argument? For example, if a stimulus argue that environmental factors caused X instead of genetics, would an answer choice like “environmental factors can sometimes cause X,” which I think is a NA, be strengthening the argument? I honestly think it does, though not much, since it shows that the argument is possible. And if it does, do all NA strengthen it’s pertaining arguments?
Would anyone be available/willing to help me diagnose what I need to work on in RC? I'm stuck at around -6 and trying to bring the average down in the last month before the October test.
Thanks!
Hi! Does the Unlimited Admissions Package include brainstorming + unlimited revisions for the PS, Diversity Statement and Addendum?
Additionally, does it include scholarship/waitlist negotiation help?
Hey all, I was wondering how people are going about writing notes or low resolution summaries for RC on a flex format. It's not possible to type any notes alongside the passage, is it? I've only seen the highlight ability, which I do find useful. I also don't have a stylus or stylus-friendly laptop.
Hi everyone, as the title already suggests, I’m looking for a tutor to help me for my exam this week. Preferably someone who has worked with others in the past.
