Hi,

I'm a new user for 7Sage and I was wondering if I can use the platform with a physical copy (or scanned PDF) of the exam. I understand that LSAT Prep Plus is required in order to have access to the exams, but would it be possible to use 7Sage with physical/PDF versions of the exams instead?

Thank you!

PrepTest Analysis

Is there a way to run an analysis of the Preptests I've already taken to determine my most commonly missed question types? My results have been very inconsistent, so I have been having a hard time figuring out what I should be spending the most time studying.

I took the LSAT a year ago and consistently scored in the mid/high 150s. Now I'm scoring significantly lower (10 point drop) and I don't know why. I've finished the core curriculum and thought I understood everything, but I guess not. October will be my third retake and I'm starting to think it's time to give up on law school.

Balancing classes with studying

Wondering if anyone has any helpful tips on how to balance a full course load in undergrad with studying. I began studying late February and made huge improvements over the summer while i could focus completely on the LSAT, but now with classes starting up again a lot more has been added to my days. I am hoping to test in November and want to keep improving these next two months before then. Thanks!

October Retake- Study Advice

Hi guys-

I took the August LSAT Flex this past Saturday, and am not confident the score will be where it needs to be. I preemptively registered for October's test (though, now also as a Flex test, can push to November), and am struggling with best steps to study for the next 4+ weeks.

Any advice/insight for structuring is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Stuck at 155

Hey,

I just wanted to get people's advice for breaking a plateau. The last 7 tests I have taken, I have scored exactly 155 each time. I am registered for the October 3rd LSAT and I want to get a 160. Is it even possible to improve by 5pts in a month? My anxiety is through the roof right now because I feel like I am not improving. Any advice? I am super strong in LR, okay at LG and abysmal at RC.

Personal Statement

Hello 7sagers! I am having trouble selecting a topic for my personal statement. Does anyone have a good personal statement they would be willing to let me read or just any advice in general? Thanks :)

INTERRUPTED DURING EXAM

Was anyone else interrupted during the exam? I began my exam with reading comprehension. I tend to go -3/-4 on this section. I read the first passage and move on within four minutes. During the second passage, I was reading the second paragraph when all of a sudden my exam closed. I know that it was NOT my connection because I was on google chrome which was functioning perfectly, and my sister was in class, also using our WiFi.

I FREAK OUT

All of a sudden, my proctor says "we lost connection" but on who's end because it surely was not mine. I begin the test AGAIN, and start where I left off. At this point, I re-read the second passage because I had forgotten what I had read. I'm trying to relax when all of a sudden I receive an INCOMING call from a woman, I assume she's LSAC staff because she was not my proctor. She says she needs to view my room once again. I stand, show the room, and resume my exam. I have to RE-READ AGAIN, because of the interruption. At this point I'm like at 25-26 minutes. I was extremely frustrated.

I RECEIVE ANOTHER INCOMING CALL...

The lady on the phone says, "do you need a minute?" so you're telling me I WAS INTERRUPTED AGAIN FOR THAT?

At that point I tell her I'm fine, and I would like to resume. I continue my exam when I watch the time and I'm on about minute 22 and I am STILL reading the second passage. At this point I move on and freaking out because I feel like I just wasted so much time. This was my far the worst section because it felt like I guess on so many question.

The following section was LG which was so easy. However, there was ANOTHER interruption. I see the ProctorU icon on the bottom of my screen jumping. Keep in mind, the chat window is on the other screen. I switch to my other screen

(YES, TIME IS RUNNING STILL), and I have a message from my proctor asking me to lower my camera because she can''t see my chin, (I was looking down because of games duh). She responds "great!" and as I am reading to confirm, my time is still running. All of a sudden, I GET ANOTHER INCOMING CALL, where the woman laughs and says "I see you proctor told you to fix it hahaha!" I kid you not, I wanted to cry at this point.

Is there anything I can do? I am so frustrated. I typically score about 165 but with reading comp going this bad, there's no way.

Hi all. I took the LSAT Flex yesterday and well, it didn't go great. For various reasons I was not in the best head space and that coupled with test day anxiety really threw me for a loop.

I've been drilling LG for a few months now and have been consistently getting between -1 and -4 on practice tests. On the real deal, my brain went completely blank and I maybe properly set up two of the games. I remember blindly guessing on at least 3 questions (probably more but my brain has kind of blacked out details) and made semi-educated guesses on others. I also had super low time on the last RC passage and had to make some pretty quick educated guesses there as well. LR might be fine but also might not.

This was so far off from my recent PT experiences, which have mostly ranged in the high 160s/low 170s. I'm pretty worried that the LG section alone put me below the 160s range on the actual test.

I took the test last November so I already have that score on file (160) and feel like it would look pretty terrible to have an even lower score on record almost a year later... At the same time, maybe I miraculously guessed well and/or somehow didn't do as terribly as I think. So, the question is: Is it a good idea to cancel my score to be safe..? More specifically, is it better to have a cancelled score on record (and forever be haunted by not knowing how I did) than to have two scores well below my goals on file a year apart?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sick before Flex

Hi people,

So up until about 4 days ago I was feeling quite good about taking the flex: I had just scored a PB and was feeling confident. Then I got the flu and I things went to shit. Essentially I haven't done much studying the past few days and I write tomorrow.

I'm still not feeling the best and I can't decide whether or not I should try to power through and do some review today, or just to try to recover and hopefully be feeling better for tomorrow. Four days without studying after 4 months of studying every day feels like, well, a long time. I'm not sure what to do here.

Would appreciate some advice.

Hi, everyone. I tried opening the "Get Acquainted With LSAT Writing" tool from my LSAC account. The program started recording me and gave me a "pre-exam advisory" about the exam rules. Does this sound right or did I somehow launch the actual exam?

Hi all

I am currently wanting to sign up for November, and have never used LSAT resources before. At this point I only have about 2 months and some change from now until test day for November 2020. Is this a viable timeframe to try to get 8-10 point bump? I've previously taken it and scored 147, a few years ago without test prep materials. I was not sure if 7sage put a strong emphasis on having months versus just 2-3

I wrote the LSAT-Flex on August 29th and was using the command-F feature during the RC section (I use a Mac). However, I'm used to hitting command-space to search things up on my laptop when I'm studying and I accidentally hit command-space instead of command-F during the exam which searched my entire laptop... I realized quickly and closed out of it and was too scared to use command-F after that. Do you think I will have any issues with getting my score because of this/should I do anything about it? Now that I've written the exam I can't help stressing over these little things! I don't want something like this to mess up my scores ahhh and I'm scared I'll get flagged because of this... would appreciate some opinions on if I should do anything

I have been studying since June. I am currently finishishing up sequencing games and I am scheduled for the November LSAT. Do you think approximately two months of prep-tests will be enough if I finish core curriculum by mid-September?

I am realistically trying to get above a 170 but so is everyone else.

My Anxiety Is Through the Roof

Hi everyone! I'll be taking the LSAT on Monday and I'm freaking out a bit. Everyone keeps telling me i'll be OK and that it's just another test. Frankly for me, it isn't. I am recent college grad in Florida. Graduated with a 4.1 GPA, political science student of the year, won new student organization of the year (founded an org for Latina in my campus community), and I am undocumented. This is the scary part. Public law schools aren't even an option for me, only private. I do not qualify for any merit scholarships from any public institution because of my legal status. If you're wondering i've been in the US for more than 20 years. I decided to go to law school because of a forced relationship I had with the law growing up. This included deportations, and separations within my family. I've never been one to talk about my anxiety but I feel so much pressure and I am afraid this will affect my performance. I have been scoring in the upper 160s. But SO AFRAID.

Any tips on meditating?

Hi all,

I have four potential candidates I'd like to reach out to for LOR.

Two TAs (one from an elective course: leadership and resiliency i.e. not very hard, and the other was regular course)

and two Professors. Both very accomplished professors, one of the professors is the founder of the Public Policy school at UVA. I received A - for both classes the professors taught. All four taught different classes.

The professors don't know me particularly well, one class was a lecture with 120 students and the other class was a seminar with 15. On the other hand, I interacted with both TAs on a regular basis (many email exchanges, office visits, even study sessions over the phone during final exam period). The ratio for office visits was probably 3 to 1. Notably, I got a bad grade in my midterm for the class that non-elective TA taught but ended up doing really well at the end through many consultations with him and guidance he provided for my final paper and exam. I impressed both TAs and definitely have better, more in-depth relationship with them. I think they would write a stellar and very personal letter of recommendation and suspect that they will have much more substantive things to say about me than the professors.

So my question is,

Who do you think I should ask??

Do you think the admission officers would weigh a letter that has more depth and is written from a TA who knows/likes me but admittedly teach a not very challenging elective course? Or would they weigh a banal letter that sounds like other typical letters from well-known professors?

At the end of writing this I have decided to ask the other TA who taught a regular class but I still need to decide between my leadership class TA vs the two professors. I graduated a year ago and plan on submitting one or two LORs from my managers and supervisors.

Any thoughts/comments are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi all,

Wanted to say a quick hello again from 1L at Northwestern. For those of you going through the admit/decision process right now (which is already a stressful time), I know that the covid19 situation isn't helping anything. I've seen that several ASWs have been canceled. I don't have any official word on NU's yet, but I would not be surprised if ours is too.

That said, for anyone who is considering NU but unable to make the trip for any reason, I want to try to be a resource. You are welcome to PM me and I promise to be as candid as possible about my impressions of the school and answer any questions that I can. If ASW is canceled, I would guess that Admissions will also do what they can to help students make an informed decision, but throwing my hat in the ring as a resource.

This semester is a little bonkers (as is all of law school lol), so I may not get back right away but I will do my best to help! I know how stressful this decision was for me, and can only imagine how much harder it may be without being able to visit.

Good luck to you all, whether you're in the midst of LSAT studying or making a school decision!

I’m new to this Flex thing, since I just restarted studying last week (after taking a year off).

Can anyone do a brief overview of their Flex experience? You have to do it on a computer with a webcam - will you see other students? Do you see your proctor? What’s the format?

Hey everyone!

For the last month I've been stuck in the low-mid 160s. My BR scores are consistently low 170s-mid 170s. I take 3 timed PTs a week and then on the in between days I drill the areas that I am struggling with (mostly LG and recently RC). I am taking the October LSAT and am starting to get nervous about if I will ever close this gap between BR and my timed PTs. How long and in what way were you able to close this gap? Thank you so much!

Afternoon everyone. Posting so hopefully no one else will encounter the problem I just had on my test.

There seems to be a glitch with the Proctor U system on a mac. Specifically, if you try to click on the LSAC hub's answers, move-to-new-question button, to cross off answers, or basically any other button while full screen, it can spaz out. The first five minutes of my test was me clicking in different ways hoping it would start working while waiting for the proctor to respond.

I got lucky thought, because I minimized my screen and was then able to click properly.

So for MAC folks -- I'd recommend not going into full screen at all, or at least knowing about this possible fix.

Good luck everyone.

We know many of you have wanted to try the new Flex format with only three sections without a workaround like making three problem sets or just leaving a section blank. So, we are happy to announce that we have just rolled out a Flex simulator option for every PrepTest (all 95)! If you don't see the new option, try doing a force refresh.

To use it with a PrepTest, check the box labeled "Simulate Flex" next to the PrepTest name in the digital tester. This will skip the second LR section. The scaled scores generated from Flex mode uses the same methodology as our Flex Score Convertor. Because no one outside of LSAC knows how Flex is scored, this is just an educated guess. See the screenshot below:

You can apply the flex option to any PrepTest that is not completed. So you can switch to Flex if you are still doing the test or doing blind review, but not if you already scored your test. If you already entered answers or other data for the second LR section, then the Flex option will erase any data for that section when you score the test.

Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

Hey everyone! I took the June LSAT-Flex and got my score a while ago, but the in the "LSAT Documents" section of my LSAC account the document icons are still green, as opposed to grey. I realize Flex tests will not be disclosed, but my last LSAT (Feb 2020 in person) was also undisclosed and the document icons still turned grey after scores came out.

Has anyone been in touch with LSAC about why this is happening? I can't seem to get them on the phone, and I want to make sure that new LSAT-Flex score will get reported to schools.
