I'm scoring an average of 158-162 on my actual timed PTs but I'm BRing at a consistent 173+. My goal is to be able to bridge this gap, and hopefully score a 175+. I understand that comes with practice and with targeting weaknesses. However, I only have about 11 PTs left (I have all the PTs so it isn't an issue of obtaining more). My goal is to take this test by March 2020. I am out of school and work full-time and am not in the financial position to take time away from work. Most of my time is devoted to PTing on weekends, and BRing during eveningsmornings over the weekdays.

As for my breakdowns (answering this question before its asked lolol):

LG: -0 (i am able to finish all questions timed)

LR: - 4/-5 (i am able to finish all questions timed)

RC: -15 typically (i cannot finish the timed section and am typically left with the last passage untouched)

I know I need to really hone in on RC mainly and some on refining my detailed understanding of LR and that the majority of my score increase will come from there. However, I have also been reading a lot online that people have averaged 20-30 PTs before they started hitting the 175+ range. I only have about 10 left and had previously studied for the LSAT before taking some time off so I had used all the tests in the 60s and 70s during that time to prep. I know I need to take the 80s when I'm closer to my test date, but I don't want to waste them if I cant make it to test day/am not scoring where I need to be.

Advice or shared experiences and anything else you guys have to offer would be greatly appreciated. I've been sifting through discussion posts and haven't found advice pertaining to my exact situation and so I'm hopeful this post will be beneficial to more than just myself.

160-170+ in 4 months?

I've been working hard since February this year going through the LSAT trainer, then Lawschooli's LR program, then I saw the light and did the CC here. Over the last 4 months I've seen an increase of about 4-5 points to a 159-160, but I know I can bank at least 5 more points by foolproofing more and shoring up my LR flaws (which are immense lol).

I plan on using Cantgetright's post CC guide (I'll post the link below) and hiring a tutor but can people in general go from -7-10 in LR and -7ish in RC to -2-3 between now and the April test? That's about 4 months for a 10 point improvement and easy points from foolproofing.

Cantgetright's excellent post CC video: https://classic.7sage.com/webinar/post-core-curriculum-study-strategies/

Can I please get feedback and recommendations for LSATMax as source for LSAT Prep

Hi. My name is Juan and I'm starting this new discussion in hopes of connecting with others that suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder and are taking the LSAT with accommodations. If there is anyone in the community that would like to share their experiences, tips or support on how to succeed on the LSAT while having this disorder, I and I'm sure many other will appreciate it. Thanks!

Help with LR

Hi guys

I have been really overwhelmed with studying for the lsat. I have been studying as much as I can on a day basis. I have been still managing to get -11 on logical reasoning. I haven’t been able to focus on rc because most of my time is being devoted towards lr. It’s been very stressful because I don’t understand why I am doing so poorly after so much studying for the past year. Any recommendations ?

Should I keep practicing ?

Does Lr section eventually become easier !? After practice ?

I’m just confused when will I see results ?

hey all!

I am at an average of 160 on my PTs with the following breakdown:

-0 Games

-6 Per LR, sometimes less, sometimes more.

-13 on RC

If I improved my RC, it could totally push me into the 165 range. With only 7 weeks left until the Jan exam, I'm seeking advice on the best way to improve my RC score. Advice on LR is welcomed, too!

Thanks all!

I am fortunate enough to be able to study for the LSAT full-time, but feel that I have not made the most out of my time. When I was going through the CC, I really enjoyed it because it provided me with structure. However, now that I am done with the CC and don't have that structure, I have really been struggling to make the most out of my study sessions. After reading some test prep articles online, I realized that I would benefit from creating a schedule for each of my study sessions. I want to develop a study schedule with specific time stamps and specific goals. I would love to hear from those of you who have found success with developing study schedules and possibly sharing a sample study schedule.

Some Background:

Diagnostic: 142

I would like to take the exam in February, but am okay with waiting a little longer if it means getting a higher score. I will definitely have to go back to work after February.

I have only taken three PTs because I quickly realized that I need more help with the basics. PT1:149 PT2:140. PT3:139

In oder to adresss the fact that I was struggling with the basics, I purchased The Loophole by Ellen Cassidy and used that to help me structure my study sessions. I was able to get through the book in a week and since then I have been drilling the specific LR question types that I have struggled with the most. I used the data analytics to help me determine which question types I needed to focus on, but I am nervous about devoting so much time to LR and neglecting LG and RC.

I have created my own LG bundle (binder with all games from PTs1-35), but have not gotten around to actually using it.

After doing the CC, I haven't addressed RC in my studying

I really appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I bought LSAT Starter pack prior the announcement of after Nov. 15th , LG videos will be available for premium or higher .

If I buy the potential PT 89 explanations package which will be released by 7 Sage soon, will i able to get to see the LG explanations video of PT 89 by 7 Sage? or I will be only available to see PT 89's LR and RC video explanations?

Hey everyone,

I am really looking to you for advice.

Here is my situation:

I wrote in October, but there was a problem at my test centre, and I did not receive accommodations for my first section (I have an actual learning disability), and I was informed of this MID section 1, so I rushed through the last 10Qs in that section and feel like i ruined my score. I did not receive my score yet (I have the option to cancel, until December). I felt horrible after the exam. I know the first section for LR went badly, but I felt like the others were OK (I received accommodations after the first section). In October, my score was constant ~158, but the week before the exam it was 158-157-158-156-155-154-152-151 (no lie — i stopped at that point), mostly careless errors at that point from not reading properly, but I was hyper-alert during the exam. I tried to fix that for the exam. The only thing stopping me from cancelling is that the exam was “harder” than anticipated (at east according to my friends) and for some reason, whenever things are hard they work out for me.

I wrote again in November, and, surprise, i feel like garbage. I flagged like 20 questions. I found I got time-sucked on a couple of Qs. I was scoring more consistently the month of November, between 158-162 (my BR between 165-173). I felt pretty good about the games. I was eh about the LR, but the more I “read” and “think” about the “real LR” the worse I feel. On each practice PT I flag the same amount of questions.

My dilemma is that I do not know if I should cancel my October score, and take the free retake in January. Normally I would leave it, but the university I am aiming for averages scores. I have been studying since the end of may. And, in all honesty, I am EXHAUSTED and mentally drained and really do not want to write in January. I feel brain dead, and I’ve been having nightmares from this stupid exam.

I really do not want to drag this exam out. I am also going back to work full-time in January and I am likely going to have a hard time studying and working at the same time (and taking ‘time off’ is not an option since I have 0 financial support at home, besides free rent which will be gone if I do not go back to work).

I wanted advice because I do not really trust myself to make the right decisions at this point, since my confidence has dropped from 0 to -10, but I also really need to hit 160. I feel like a slave.

If you were in my shoes, what would you do? I would love to hear any advice you have to offer (for real — its been incredibly helpful thus far) and greatly appreciate the time you’ve taken to read this :)

7Sage ↔ 36 points ⬆️

No. Didn't break a 170.

Just wanna leave a short message and shout out for J.Y., 7 sage crew and all 7sagers who have helped me grow in this journey.

Diagnostic 133, after over 3 years of studying finally scored a 169.

It's been nothing but blood and tears but the result is worth it.

Now seriously debating on retake..really just wanna be done with it after all those years of grinding this thing but you know the dilemma...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ADHD accomodations

Hi,

How is the process for ADHD accomodations? Anyone have difficulties getting accomodations for ADHD? I’ve always suspected I had ADHD my whole adult life but for the longest time I refused to see a dr about it until a year ago, when the dr confirmed my suspicions and diagonesed my with ADHD. I never got any accomodations during college or any other exams.

Logical Reasoning Help

Does anyone have a good suggestion for help with logical reasoning? I improved drastically on logic games and somewhat in reading comprehension, I'm still struggling with logical reasoning. I haven't bought the 7sage bundle but this is because I don't have much time left until the next lsat and don't see the point in getting the ultimate and not being able to finish it. Anyone have any recommendation for a good course or notes for something specific to Logical Reasoning? I asked 7sage help and only thing they said was they don't do individual courses but didn't give me any suggestions aside from buying ultimate when I specifically told them why I didn't consider it because of time and money. Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys!

I was just wondering if its realistic for my score to increase from a 148 to the 155-157 range in five weeks? I'm considering re-taking in January and I'm not sure if that's something that could possibly happen.

I just recently broke in to the 150's on my PT's and I'm in desperate need of advice!!

Thanks!!

Using PT 36-58 Only

Hi,

I was wondering if I'm missing out on a lot by using these (relatively) older PTs as full length tests? I heard that the test has changed over the years, so would taking only these PTs put me at a significant disadvantage? When I purchased the Premium package I hadn't realized that this may be an issue.

Thanks!

I tell all of my students to do exactly what I did after each time I took the LSAT.

I wrote down my takeaways about the whole experience – the things that went well, the things that I didn’t anticipate and wanted to prepare for next time, and anything else I want to be aware of and improve upon.

As much as you can simulate your PTS to be like the real thing, there’s just something about going to an official exam. Whether it’s dealing with proctors, the air in the room, nerves getting to you, or, of course, the substance of the test questions.

I took the LSAT three times. Each time I wrote down my takeaways in a place where I could access them regularly. For me it was my iPhone in the notes section, for you maybe it’s someplace else. But use that information to prepare for your next take. I used the time before my next exam to replicate the things that went well and problem solve the things that needed to be improved.

Ideally, this will be your last take, but in the chance that it’s not, this information is invaluable.

One last thing – do this ASAP. Whether it’s when you leave the test center or if you need a break, sometime tonight. But make sure you do it while this information is fresh in your mind.

I will make a longer post about my LSAT experience later, but I wanted to give a huge shout out to 7sage and your community. I'm breaking up with the LSAT, and cant wait to enjoy my freedom.

To everyone still studying, just know you all will reap the benefits of your hard work! This test absolutely broke me at some moments along the way, but I always remembered the long game. Dont give up!

Hi all,

A couple questions about the digital test:

(1) I've noticed that 7Sage's digital PTs differ slightly from the three digital PTs that LSAC has made available. Most notably is the option to collapse answer choices on 7Sage's PTs, an option not available on LSAC's PTs.

An LSAC representative told me that the format of the digital PTs that LSAC has made public is exactly like what we can expect to see on the test. I was hoping to confirm that here.

(2) Does there seem to be any consensus regarding the whole stylus-vs.-fingers question for ease of navigating the test? I’m not interested for highlighting or for using any other features, but rather just for scrolling RC passages and selecting answer choices.

Thanks for any thoughts, folks!
