Hey guys, this weekend is going to be a bad study weekend for me as I am going to practically be driving and working all weekend, does anyone know of any good books I can get on audio to help me study??? I figure if I am going to be driving 4.5 hours to San Antonio I might as well utilize it and listen to a book. Any suggestions? THX!

Hello,

I am getting ready to send out a few emails to ask for LORS. I know a little unprofessional, but its summer and most of my professors are out of town. Here is my question, how do I explain to them the process? Can someone give me an example of what the email should consist of?

Hey guys I have done the PT in 60's last year studying for October and December. But now studying again for September I did my first lsat in the 60's and certainly recognized the stimulus. Also when I would predict I saw my prediction was usually correct. I ended up getting like -3 in both the LR sections which is much better than before where I usually get around -6. I am kind of scared because redoing these PT's in 60's now might be a bad idea. This time around with studying I started at PT 35 and completed all the way to PT 59. Any advice would be great

Getting Sick

How do you guys cope with this during prep and especially when you have a schedule and deadlines you highly prefer to abide by? :(

I am able to psyche myself up for RC passages and LR stimuli and become generally interested in them. But, I'm having trouble actually having fun doing logic games. I have been drilling LG sections as well as foolproofing my problematic games but I tend to find the process really dull even if I am making progress. Has anyone gotten to the point where they enjoy games? Could you explain how you frame games in your mind to make them more fun?

I used to be great at LR getting anywhere from 3-4 questions wrong per section. Now I have actually been getting worse at it and improved drastically in logic games. Has this happened to anyone and is there any advice you can give on how to study and improve? I have been doing BR but sometimes it just ends up making me second guess my answers, is it sometimes ok to do BR by knowing which questions you go wrong but not the answers? Assumption questions are definitely the hardest questions for me.

So, last time I was here I got some really great advice from a number of people, and I made a few life decisions. To get to a 170 (I'm at a 152 diagnostic), I'm going to take a gap year, as I graduate in may, and all this year I'm going to prep with 7sage ultimate. I will take the test next June. Does this sound like a solid plan?

So, I have the LSAT beginners package. I have been studying since for 2 1/2 months now. I am at the invalid arguments section. I was initially planning on taking practice test on my own once I finished all the sections on here (to be extremely familiar with everything). However, I have been told by friends that they took 2-3 practice test a week. Is that the smart thing to do? I am taking my LSAT in September. Should I start putting more focus on the actual prep tests vs the lesson plans? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Timing Issues

Hey all -

Just some background info - I started my studying with 7 Sage on May 16th and I plan on writing September 24 meaning I am about halfway through my studying. I scored a diagnostic score of 151 due to an abysmal LG section (-18). I have now completed the curriculum and have taken 7 PT's. My most recent score is a 164 with a BR score of 172. My breakdowns are generally -3 RC, -11 or so in LR and -6 on LG. My main issue as of right now is timing. I find I am a tad slow on every section besides reading. By a tad slow I mean 3-4 minutes. After every test I thoroughly review every question I missed, typing out explanations for every wrong answer etc. Right now I am not skipping questions so I am going to start skipping Parallel reasoning questions and see if that speeds up my timing but besides that do you all have any tips to increase my speed on LR and LG. I think I have potential for a 170+ but this time thing is a little concerning to me. Any tips from you all are much appreciated!

MBT v MSS

Hello guys,

My first study buddy meeting has been really good, but I feel like I've stumbled a bit on explaining the difference between MBT and MSS questions!

I've touched on how MBT relies on formal logic and validity, if the stimulus is true, the answer must be true. Whereas MSS is more general, you are trying to add a conclusion to the information above by drawing one out of the stimulus.

Any input here would be greatly appreciated!

Discouraged ;/

Hello,

I am hoping someone could give me some guidance ..

I have been studying the fundamentals of the LSAT sans tutor/books/etc for the past year while working full time and have had moments of "damn! why can't I just afford a tutor!?" and stopped and reassessed my studying & approach. It was at that time (about a month ago) that I came across 7Sage. The one and only PT i have taken is the 2007 one and scored a 144 (very upsetting)

I don't want to give up and think thats the best I can do since becoming an attorney has been a dream of mine since I was younger.

I am working through the curriculum and really taking the time to understand how to approach each section. Does anyone have any advice on anything else I should be doing to supplement the curriculum? I work 8-5 M-F, I study from about 6-9pm M-Thurs. & of course Saturday & Sunday.

I wanted to take the LSAT so I could apply for the fall 2017 school year, but I also don't want to give myself that deadline and add more anxiety to my progress, so I am open to waiting..

Any advice/guidance is appreciated!

Thanks guys :)

Like I imagine most of us, I never had to study in high school/undergrad. The LSAT is the first time I've had to seriously study. I find that I'm able to do about two, maybe three, hours a day before I just can't focus anymore. What tips can you offer to help me study more?

Hey!I wonder if anyone is close to Seattle. Now I need a study buddy to supervise my study progess. I am following the LSAT 4-month schedule and read LSAT trainer. I increase my accuracy but still slow. Any suggestion?

Anyone, if you r close to Seattle or Bellevue, PM me. We can grab a coffee and share some experience.Thx

Hi team,

I have been studying with 7sage for a month now. Learning a lot of stuff, but just want to do a double check, what do you keep in your head when reading the passage?

For me, I feel like I have constantly do the following set of things:

-Untangle the passage into context, premise, conclusion (minor/major) by asking the WHY question.

-Writing the sentence into logic terms by constantly looking out for any logical indicators (all, never, only if...) and pause for 2 seconds and write it out (sometimes if the sentence is symbol I still try to do it because in the end the passage is an argument)

And yes, I do this for all the questions. Surly, I speculate when doing actual PT this may be done unconsciously, but for starters, what do you keep in your mind when reading for RC?

@twssmith, @"Accounts Playable" and anybody else care to share?

Much thanks,

Panda

Hey so I already posted a similar discussion to this but it had a lot of other information and I really just need to decide how to study for the September LSAT since I already took it twice and have been studying on and off for a year.

My 7sage paid membership expired and I have almost mastered LG and LR. Should I just take PTs and timed sections leading up to the September LSAT? Or should I get the LSAT trainer and/or get another 7sage account? Main weakness is RC and I keep hearing that the best way to improve is to just keep doing it. I need to start studying again soon because I haven't looked at anything since the June. Thanks!

Hi there,

I have been thinking of sitting for the Law School Admission Test for quite some time. However, finding the appropriate schedule has always been an issue for me.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances that have come about recently, I have been made aware that I will not be attending University this upcoming year. This will leave me with an abundance of free-time (July-December).

Considering I now have this free (full-time) schedule to dedicate towards this standardized test, would this period of time be adequate for someone attempting a score of 165?

Thank-You all for your time.

P.S - I understand that responses here will be purely hypothetical, and any reasonable estimate/answer will largely depend on other encompassing factors (i.e. Diagnostic scores/Time dedication).

Hey,

I know we are all studying probably every minute but if any of you are looking for some new law show to watch, I really recommend checking "The Good Wife" out.

I was just watching one of the episodes, and she was in court room where an "adhesive expert" was called. No joke. His job is about analyzing the things stuck on the glue'y side of the sticky note. And he was basically saying how a note's sticky side that had fallen on the ground had lead on it, and one of the items, the painting also had lead on it, so the note must have come from that painting.

The main lead was on the opposing side. And I was thinking, how would I weaken this thing on LSAT..... What about if any other item in the house also had lead on it? And sure enough, she introduces an additional premise saying the expert concluded too hastily, a lamp on the desk where the unused sticky notes like also had lead on it as well. And its possible the sticky note might have touched the lamp before being placed on another item which might not be the painting. So, its not necessary that the note was on that particular painting!

I don't know why but the fact that I could predict the form the "right answer" might take, and that I was right, made me sooo happy. :D I know I still have a lot to learn, but I have finally started to feel like I am getting to a place where I am beginning to understand.... and its such a good feeling.
