So, I've chosen B, both under timed conditions and blind review. Below is my reasoning:

B: If I am more willing to sacrifice consistency than to sacrifice flavor, I am more willing to refrain from buying stabilizers and keeping temperatures low (therefore energy costs up), thereby saving costs. Therefore, cost considerations indeed favor sacrificing consistency over sacrificing flavor.

Why is B wrong?

Moreover, I am not fully convinced that E is correct. It's clear that stable temperatures (no matter whether they are very low or not, stable means to me that there are no temperature changes which adversely affect the consistency) allow for the best possible consistency. But how do we know that very low, stable temperatures allow for the best possible flavour? We are not told anything about the relation between flavour and temperature (it could be the case that lower temperatures have adverse effects on flavour).

Maybe I'm overthinking it with E though, the process of written expression of my thoughts actually almost convinced me that E sounds logical. The question I'm concerned the most with is why B is wrong.

139

I got a 139. After months and months of trying to study and listening to podcasts of people getting astronomical scores, I got a 139. I think its clear that I will not be going to law school. I'm at my wit's end right now and have never felt so defeated in my life. I'm currently on vacation and will reassess whether to not I will continue with this far fetched idea or just f**ing quit now.

STEM major in one of the top tech institutions but no CAS GPA before December (haven't reached 60 credit hours). Cumulative GPA is 4.2 out of 4.3. Not a US citizen.

This is my second take. First one was in April, 174. PT-ing 175-180, average 178 ish.

My mom is so upset, I can't even believe it. help

Edit: I'm sorry if this post makes anyone unhappy. I know I should be satisfied with a 174 or 176. And I am. Family pressure for absolute perfection is another story, though. My mom is literally asking me to forget about law school. Go to work as a software engineer, she says. I am so sad.

I just did the Weaken problem sets and got a lot of them wrong. I feel extremely let down and I am not really sure how to approach the questions that I get wrong. I watch the explanations but I don't seem to internalize the information that JY is saying when I do the next questions. Do any of you have any suggestions?

133 to 150

It is doable. I am not done yet because I would like a 160. But if I can do it as a mother of 2, working full time as a litigation paralegal and gain 17 points then you can too! Don't give up! Also a very special thank you to my tutor! I couldn't have done this without her! (I hope she sees this post)

136 --> 155

Hi everyone,

While I've seen some people state their frustrations with scoring in the 165+ range because they wanted higher scores, I wanted to make a post for those who are proud of their accomplishments to date and getting scores that are reflective of where they want to be. No shame or disrespect to those wanting to achieve whatever perfection they are aiming for, but proud to support others who are doing their best all the same. Especially for those older in the group (30-year-old here!), the single parents or single-income households navigating full or part-time work.

This isn't the end of my LSAT journey (one more attempt will be made in October) but I wanted to give a huge shout out to those who consistently support and provide feedback in the lessons and discussion forums. Keep working hard, be proud of your accomplishments (because no one knows what this test is like unless they've sat through this process), and trust the process!

I can understand how ACs A-D are incorrect. I am truly struggling to see how E is correct.

My contention here is that even if a greater proportion of crimes are reported in recent years, those independent surveys would still include all of the non-reported and reported victims. Therefore, there is no way to make the argument that these two things could be viewed separately. The video explanation really did not clear this up for me. Can someone possibly explain how to understand this more clearly?

Thank you so much 7sage for the information that ya'll provide. I started this journey just about a year ago and have improved my score by 12 points by using 7sage and power score bibles.

I am a living testimonial of faith and keeping God first.

With the amount of work you put in with your LSAT studies; you can do it!

See y'all later my future lawyer's.

I got a 159. Same as my April score. I got a 144 my first time in Sept of 2018. This is my 3rd attempt and I seriously do not want to retest. My PTs were 166-170 consistently so I am not sure what happened. I am only looking to get into UNC, their median is 165 or higher with this cycle. I am frustrated, any advice on retaking or what my chances would be?

Hanging it up

Well, I got my June Flex score back and, at 163, it's two points higher than my best PT score and above the 75th for my target schools. I'm not a 170+ scorer obviously, so take this as you will: The best piece of advice I got was to stop trying to finish every section and focus instead on getting the questions I attempted correct. On the official test I only finished the LR section in its entirety, 2.5 games, and 3 RC passages. I had to bubble blindly on the rest. If you're not aiming for the T14, that might be okay for you too.

Good luck to all of you, and thank you for the support!

Hello,

I am new to using the PrepTest feature and am preparing to take the August 21/October 21 exams.

Should I be preparing using "stimulate flex" and having three scored sections or having 4 scored sections?

I want to be using my time correctly and efficiently.

Please let me know!

Thanks,

Maxwell James

I got my score back and got a 159. Honestly I started crying but then realized a few months ago I thought I would never get past a 155 (diagnostic was a 148). I am proud of myself and I feel for anyone who feels like a failure for reading posts about people being upset with a 170. A 159 is the 75th percentile -- the top quartile. Of course that's something to be proud of. Even though I will retest in August, I am actually kind of proud of my score given how much work I've put it and raising it +11 points.

That being said, I will be continuing to use 7Sage in July to prep for August. I am aiming for 163 at the lowest (+4 point increase). Does anyone have advice on what to do in the short amount of time I have? My +11 point increase took me a year to get, I started studying in May 2020. Is a private tutor worth it for a month? I already know that success can only come with timed practice and real practice tests, which I of course plan to do. Any advice would be so appreciated.

And seriously... do not let discussions about 165/170+ being "mediocre" blindside you. This forum is filled with a very concentrated pool of dedicated people. A majority of people would do anything to break 155, 160 and 165. Reaching your goal is an achievement even if that goal is someone else's diagnostic. Congratulations to anyone who has studied their ass off and put themselves through months of practice tests and weeks of waiting to know how you did.

I am guessing I am not the only one who didn't get the score they have hoped for on the June exam (which hurts terribly after over a year of studying). Passing along two things that made me feel better after my last disappointment that I will revisit again this time....

This article: https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/if-you-didnt-get-the-lsat-school-you-dreamed-of/. After you read it, I suggest making a sticky note with "Never flinch. Be tough. Be unflappable. Be upbeat." somewhere on your workstation. I look at it every time I want to quit.

Any episode of the 7sage podcast with a " lower score - (170+ score)" in the title. Almost every single high scorer that JY has on the pod has multiple lower takes with a rollercoaster of disappointments. We are not alone in scoring below our PTs and can benefit from other people's stories.

Please drop any other motivating tips below.... August here we come!!

Four f*cking years. I'm tired. I'm so tired of this shitty test. I go at most a -4 in RC and a -1 in LG. LR, though, is a complete and utter mess. I score anywhere from a -5 to a -13, or hell, even worse. I have no control over this section. I've been trying to master this section for four years now and I cannot. I've tried every resource available, every study technique, but LR success utterly evades me. I've done every LR section in existence. On the most recently released test (the May one), I went -4 in RC; -1 in LG; and -11!!!!!! in LR.

I'm so close to giving up. I was waitlisted by every school I applied to this cycle with a 164, and I can't see myself scoring any better in August because I seem to be getting worse in LR, not better. Worse. I have no idea what to do anymore.

If anyone can help me, please reach out. I really need help and I need advice for sanity-sake.

Hi guys, I just got back my score! Does anyone know if we can access the IRR for the June 2021 Flex? My icon says "not available yet". It would be super helpful for review.

Got my second score back today and it was 2 points lower than my first. I really feel like I froze up on test day and that my score isn’t representative of my abilities at all- way lower than my PT average as well. I want to retake, but I’ve heard how top schools look at more than 2 takes as a red flag. Is that true? Would y’all retake?

How many PTs

Hello all!

I am taking the August LSAT and am almost down with the core curriculum. I will have 5 1/2-6 weeks dedicated to taking practice exams, reviewing them, and focusing on my weaknesses. Does anybody have any ideas/tips of how many PTs I should try to fit into those few weeks?

Thanks for you help and happy studying!

Let me start off by saying that, in every other area, whether in LR or LG, JY's suggested techniques have worked brilliantly for me. As long as the hours and repetitions are put in consistently and core curriculum hasn't been skimmed through, I believe these methods are widely applicable for most, if not all, people. JY is the man. In RC, however, it has often felt like I've been trying to force his 'low res' technique to sink in and, after countless hours of trying to hammer this technique home, my brain's natural method of information intake just doesn't seem to agree with it. This post is more relevant for people who take in information in a similar manner to me (eg: You read an article once through without distraction or stopping and can summarize it confidently)

When using the low res summary technique, each time I underline, circle, scribble a low res paragraph summary, etc, it tends to A) distract me (almost a 'context shift' for anyone familiar with Cal Newport) from actually absorbing/comprehending information, B) slow me down both in terms of sheer getting through the passage and comprehending first time through (resulting in inefficient sentence re-reads) or C) both.

Last week, out of tired frustration more than anything, I just randomly started reading passages all the way through without stopping to mark anything- just recreational reading like I would any book or magazine for fun. Definitely TMI, but I treated it as if it was just light reading a magazine on the toilet (which tbh was where I discovered this method), and it's strangely worked. I've gone -0 on nearly all RC passages since. I have a better feeling for passage structure and paragraph purposes, however, the main issue this has solved is timing. Because of my mind having a tendency to lose track of context or details every time I stop to mark the passage, that resulted in many sentences being re-read, resulting in 5-6 minutes being spent on passage analysis and STILL sometimes missing ideas, which then meant spending more time on certain questions than necessary. Simply reading it straight through like I would an FT article solves all of that for me. I'm acutely aware of how ridiculous this all sounds, but it's working so far regardless of 'cookie-cutter' passage type, subject matter (which used to catch me out, especially Art) or passage difficulty level. I thought tougher RecSE- type questions that require recall of specific or hidden details would expose me, but I actually feel better with these types as well.

Has anyone else done this or something similar? Is this going to come back and bite me in the ass?

When you are forced to brute force a MBT question, what is the best way to go about it? I try and eliminate as much as I can right away. With the ACs that are left, I just negate them and see if I arrive at a contradiction. The problem is that there is more than one way to negate an AC. For example, if the AC says A must be in group 1, then you could put A in group 2,3 etc.. What do you do in this situation?

Hi! I am essentially finished with CC and wondering what PT's I should start with and then end with prior to the August exam? I know the more recent PT are more similar to the current tests but a bit different from the CC. If you have prior experience or any advice I would love to hear it! I would aim on taking two or three PT's a week.

I know we’ll be getting an email on July 29th telling us that we can sign up for a time slot, but what time does that email typically go out? Also, would I be able to sign up for a time slot on an iPhone? Thanks!

Has anyone heard any information about how the June LSAT might be curved? Also is there a different curve for every variation of the test, or one general curve for the June LSAT as one thing? Just getting nervous for Wednesday 9 AM now... (:

You can do:

P: A some B

C: A most B

But you cannot do:

P: A most B

C: A some B

Is this right? Some includes most, which is why in the first example it is correct, but most does not include some, hence why the second example is false correct? For specific reference, I was confused on PT 42, Section 4, Number 22 which is why I had this question.

anything would help! THANKS!

Hi! Can any one explain how they approached this parallel flaw question about perception? JY tries mapping but it would take me a long time to do and I am trying to see if there's something about the structure of the stimulus that can be used to get to the answer choice. Any explanation would be really helpful!!
