question #3: If more than three inches of snow accumulate, then classes will be canceled.

Negation #1:THREE INCHES of snow accumulating is not sufficient to cancel class. /(3 → C)

Negation #2:We could get three or more inches of snow accumulating and still have class. (3+ and /C)

would someone please clarify why it is "3 inches of snow" and not "more than 3 inches" in the negation #1?? it seems as though we're ignoring 3 inches of snow and ignoring the +1 rule implied in the phrase "if more than three inches" in the question.

is the phrase /A or /B --> C the same as /(A or B) -->C???

same question for "and" function: would /A and /B --> C be the same as /(A and B) --> C

Question in the previous section: Only the highest flying birds of prey nest in the summits of the Andes.

Answer

nest in summits of the Andes → highest flying birds of prey

Question# 3 in this section:

The only oral myths that have survived are the ones that were eventually written down.

Answer

oral myth survived → eventually written down

in the question from previous section, the concept following "the only" is marked as the sufficiency and on the left side (unlike what we learned from the lessons)

however! In the question from this section, the connect following "the only" is marked as necessity and on the right side of the arrow.

I'd appreciate some clarification!!

Question #3: I thought "the only" and "only" are necessary condition indicators and the concept following them would usually be a necessity, therefore, would fall on the right side of the arrow. Some clarification would be appreciated.

I'd appreciate clarification regarding question #1:

Since the "basic scientific research" is the subject here (modifier + subject), shouldn't the answer be the following?

things being compared: scientific research in countries that are democracies vs. countries that are not democracies

quality being compared: further advanced

the "winner": countries that are democracies

Thank you!!

[modifying "Fans"] of the movie

Question #3: It's my assumption that because of the quotation marks the entire phrase is counted as the object. Please clarify if the following answer would be correct if I were to remove the quotation mark & adjust the passage?

[At the meeting, Mary Simms, who was representing an outdoor advertising company, declared, that billboards are the basis of our business]

[modifies "declared"] At the meeting

[subject-noun] Mary Simms

[modifies "Mary Simms"] who was representing an outdoor advertising company

[predicate-verb] declared

[object] the basis (and do we include "the") ?? or billboards?

& the rest of the sentence are modifiers of the predicate

thank you!

Question #5: how would the following answer be incorrect? if we answer [the concession point: the planet Dune being a desert] [premise: it was revered] & [conclusion: considered invaluable by the people]

is it because it would be wrong to insert the assumption as to why it was considered invaluable?
