I got this level 5 question right and only +36 on timing! I'm so happy!
A simpler way to explain this (in my mind) as to why A is the correct option is to pay attention to the wording of conclusion of the stimulus: "types of medicine".
To produce (different) types of medicine, it would be necessary that there are substances of medicinal value contained in the plants not yet studied by scientists that differ from those there were already studied / discovered.
I was struggling with RRE questions at one point, and today I got this level 4 question right (+2:25 on timing). I'm so happy!!
@Anthony121 That's exactly what I was looking for in the answer choices. I assumed there would be more pin-tipped etching tools than bladed etching tools, for the conclusion to follow logically, which is why I instantly dismissed B :(
@JW991010 I also diagrammed it the way you just did.
Acquire money ---> Never sacrifice health
In my mind, I translated "Never sacrifice health to have Health", so my diagramming would look like:
Acquire money ---> Have health
No health --> No happiness : Contrapositive of this:
Happiness --> Health
My conclusion:
If you want money, you need happiness, and if you need happiness, you must need health.
Acquire money ---> Happiness ---> Health
Option A bridges the gap between acquiring money and happiness because it translates to :
Acquire money --> Happiness obtainable
Can someone please help explain why D is the correct choice for question 3? The answer choice D says 'either intellectually OR emotionally', while the stimulus says 'intellectual AND emotional enrichment'.
Stimulus:
If preserved --> Almost contribute to I and E
Therefore, do not destroy books.
Answer Choice D:
If enrich I or E --> do not destroy books.
Shouldn't the answer choice contain 'AND' for it to most justify the conclusion?
I'm very confused, someone please help me!!
Absolutely enjoyed this lesson! Thanks for introducing me to a Bar Exam question!
@JessM Option A has got the sufficient and necessary conditions reversed. The main conclusion of the stimulus is:
If it was intended to injure the second child --> then what was done was wrong
If X --> then Y.
This statement implies that if X happens then Y is guaranteed. Therefore, X is sufficient condition, and Y is the necessary condition.
A is incorrect because it is reversing the sufficient and necessary conditions.
Please pay attention to the word 'Only if'
Here is a simple example:
I will not go out today if it rains.
(Rains-->Not go out today)
I will not go out today only if it rains.
(Not go out today --> Rains)
By adding only if to the above statement, what I'm trying to convey is that for me to not go out today, it must rain.
If the main conclusion in the stimulus said:
"what was done was wrong only if it was intended to injure the second child",
then A would be the right choice.
@Scascio Exactly why I chose C instead of D. I assumed that the journalists did not want to draw 'negative' attention of the public which is why they were not openly challenging
I don't think I can ever get the resolve / reconcile questions right! :(
I'm in tears! I got them all right!! Although not very good with timing on some of them.
@danjames Thank you! Visually seeing that equation somehow instantly made sense!
I got all of them right!! With only about 30 seconds above the target timing for each!! Yay!!
For question 5, I'm confused as to why Fewer than half doesn't imply some of the kittens adopted yesterday went to homes with children. I understand why most is not true, but I'd think fewer than half also translates to some.

I'm crying tears of joy!
