Please let me know if you're planning to attend tonight!

Reminder: Next week's call (PT 71) is Thursday, 10/5/17 at 8pmEST.

Hi everyone! We are changing this week's call for PT60 to Thursday at 8pm EST. There is an Admission webinar on Tuesday night that some of us would like to attend so we're moving the call. Please show up, even if you are tired and don't feel like it....your brain will thank you for it!

Here's what to do:

Take PT60 then BR on your own.

Submit questions you'd like to go over here: https://goo.gl/forms/pxZVdh6THytU2way2

Note: We will try to limit the calls to under 2 hours. We will review LR questions first and only review RC if we have time. We will not be reviewing LG on the call.

This step is important: Come prepared to speak through how you approached the question you submitted. If more than one of us had trouble on the same question, we can each have an opportunity to speak through our thought process/which choices we were stuck between. The rest of the group then discusses.

Add side braid#1597 so that I can see if you're online when we go live for the call and make sure you get to the right place in the forum.

@ Done! Thank you. :)

@ Check your inbox.

@ We are asking that everyone complete the 7Sage core curriculum before joining the study group so that everyone is in a position to contribute to the growth and learning of the others in the group. This will put you in a position to get the most out of the study group as well since we will be referring to the CC and BR methods outlined by J.Y. extensively. Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

I think I heard in one of @ webinars that you should hit your target score 5-10 times before your official test. I've also heard BR scores should be high 170s to 180 range if you're aiming for 170+. Not sure what that translates to if your target score is below or above 170.

I was scoring well with PT50-60 improving each test looking to take the september test then I got past PT 63 and felt like there was a huge shift in difficulty. Now I'm aiming for December.

Game to join a study community of some kind! I'm studying full-time from now till then.

Question, are you guys taking practice sections/tests while doing the CC or are you planning on ripping through the CC then fully devoting to tests? I've already been at it since January so I've done a bit of both... just curious what anyone has found to be helpful.

Patrick

@ I started studying full-time at the end of June and began PTing immediately (starting from the earliest tests I could get my hands on) thinking I would sit for the Sept exam. After about a month, I hit a plateau in low/mid-160s. I signed up for 7Sage at the beginning of August and took about a month to get through the CC. My plan now is to begin PTing 2-3x/week with intense BR (something I wasn't doing before).

From everything I've read on these forums, the general advice is to get through the CC (many do it twice!) before PTing. I would be curious to hear what others think.

@ what about LORs from 6 years ago? I applied to law school in 2011 but did not end up accepting any offers. I am applying this cycle for Fall 2018.

Rice production is down this year so prices of rice on world markets are up.

Ok… basic economic principle…

Analysts say this increase is because only a small percentage of rice production is sold commercially—government growers control most of the rest of the rice and distribute it for local consumption.

[Conclusion]: Slight changes in production can significantly affect the amount of rice available for the world market because

[support]: so little rice is being traded freely (because of government control (in rice-producing countries))

(A) is incorrect because it doesn’t address the conclusion, let alone weaken. We are trying to weaken the conclusion that because of government controlling rice locally, little is being traded freely, which means amount available on world market is significantly affected. If countries purchase less, how does that affect how much is available? We don’t really know given the premises.

(B) is incorrect because it does not change a) that the amount of rice available for the world market has been affected or b) that the reason for this is because of the government controlling the rice. If anything this choice is closer to strengthen on the spectrum.

(C) is correct because it weakens the analysts claim that “only a small percentage of the world production is sold commercially,” which is used as support for the conclusion that slight changes in production can significantly affect the amount of rice available on world markets.

(D) is the incorrect answer I originally chose because I thought that could somehow affect the analysts claim that “only a small percentage of the world production is sold commercially,” but that can’t be possible since if the government has less to control it still means production in rice-growing countries is down. And if rice-producing countries are now competing in the world market for rice when they otherwise weren’t, there is an even greater shortage of rice, presumably.

(E) is incorrect because importing other crops has no bearing on the availability or prices of rice on the world market.

I feel your pain. I just watched/listened the "Post Core Curriculum Strategies" webinar by Josh and it helped me identify a few changes I can make to break the plateau.

I am taking the December LSAT! I'm surprised there hasn't been much activity in the December forum. Would love to form a study group. What's your status? Have you finished the CC and are you PTing? Which and when is your next PT?

Can anyone confirm that the $5,000 - $18,000 question about the car dealership was real? I had 3 LR sections and noticed it's not listed on the official real/experimental page.

Yes this was real. I had two LGs and remember this question.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
