Hi! I will be a junior at Penn State, University Park this year. I am taking the Feb 2015 LSAT. Any fellow 7sage users that would be willing to study with me this fall semester? I am going to aim to average at minimum a test a week. I want a 165+ and with a bad diagnostic score I have a long climb. So let me know if your interested! E-mail me at milipatel23@gmail.com

I don't want to get ahead of myself. But I just finished up taking the LSAT and feel pretty confident about it. Screwed up a tidge during the games, but nothing too crazy. (Got preoccupied and ran out of time, had to guess on the last 4). But I felt great during LR, and RC didn't seem to be that different either. I'm hoping all goes as planned, I end up with the score I've been getting during my PTs and I leave this test in the dust, BUT... in the slim chance that the games ends up coming back to haunt me my question is where do I go from here? I have taken the majority of the tests 50-70 and scattered tests from 20-40 throughout my studies and preparing. (I started studying last March). So my question is where would I start IF I need to retake? Am I getting to ahead of myself? I figured if that does happen I would opt to wait until Feb instead of rushing it in Dec. right after I get my score. What are your thoughts on this? How could I continue after close to 9-10 months of using so much material? Any input or ideas that you guys have if you have seen this scinero before would be awesome. Thanks!

Proctors: Very familiar with the procedure and strictly following them.

Facilities: Restrooms are close by and everything is clean and perfect.

What kind of room: Medium-sized lecture rooms.

How many in the room: 50 - 80

Desks: Long desks, more than enough space to spread out your stuff

Left-handed accommodation: Yes

Noise levels: Minimum

Parking: Ample parking in front of the building.

Time elapsed from arrival to test: Everyone was lined up in the first floor lobby first (testing rooms are on the second floor) and got assigned a piece of paper. If you arrive at 8:25 or later, you probably will have to be escorted to the testing rooms. The test started at around 9:30.

Irregularities or mishaps: Once during the test I heard a car alarm go off for about 15 seconds.

Other comments: The test center is at Hofstra Law School. People there are familiar with the test and the testing conditions are ideal. This place is just quiet throughout. The proctors can be very strict.

Would you take the test here again? Absolutely!

Date[s] of Exam[s]: 2014 Sept, 2015 Oct.

Proctors: The student of the law school proctored the test. They were very cool and quiet. Enforced all rules reasonably and gave proper 5 min warning in all sections. Many test takers had water on the desk while the test was going on, and they didn't object to it even though they probably could according to test instructions.

Facilities: Very good. The test was held in Bannan Hall building in its lecture halls on the first floor. Since the test was on Saturday, the parking garage right in front of the building was open for all and had no parking restrictions. It takes a minute to walk from the parking to the test room.

What kind of room: It was a large lecture Hall with continuously running desks. The room was very quiet and it's almost soundproof from all outside noises.

How many in the room: May be 75-80 test takers per lecture hall. The hall had 6-7 rows of seating and every row had about 10-13 test takers on average. There was plenty of space between test takers so no one felt cramped for space.

Desks: The desks were lecture hall styled continuous running desks. So everyone in the same row is pretty much on the same desk as it runs across the hall. The chair didn't have any armrest but it was not needed either. Overall very comfortable seating arrangement.

Left-handed accommodation: I am right handed and didn't pay attention to it. But the desk/chair style was handedness-agnostic, i.e. it should be just as easy for left-handed as for the right one.

Noise levels: Very quiet, I didn't hear any noise.

Parking: Right next to the Hall, less than 1 minute walk away is a large parking garage with free parking on weekends.

Time elapsed from arrival to test: There was a long line outside at 8:30. Everyone was seated in their desks by about 9am and I think the test began around 9:30 or so after instructions.

Irregularities or mishaps: Nothing.

Other comments: All in all, a great test center in a very easy to reach location. The proctors are punctual, careful, and cool. The seating arrangement couldn't be beat.

Would you take the test here again? Yes, I took the test here the first time. But this test center usually doesn't hold the June test as the June test is on Mondays when the law school is in session. So I wasn't able to take the test at this location for the retake.

Hey all,

What's really tripping me up is that this question stem is written in the passive voice. The stem saying "could have remained unchanged in force and focus IF which one of the following had been advanced as a counterexample in place of the word 'absentee'" makes me believe that the original explanation wouldn't have to be amended if it weren't for the counter example of "absentee" being used. So I was trying to find a counter example that talked about an individual performing the action unilaterally, while not needing the explanation that resolves the impasse which is what I thought the question stem was asking me to do.

If the question stem was "the reasoning could remain unchanged in force and focus if which one of the following words is used in place of the word 'absentee'" rather than the goddamn passive voice, then it really would be much easier.

Can someone clear up my confusion? Am I just crazy???

Paging JY

Can someone explain how they were able to tease out the conditional elements in this stimulus?

I'm having trouble seeing how the second sentence fits into the conditional framework. It doesn't seem like it plays a role there.

All I can see with this, and it leads you straight to the answer, is:

Sentence 1: PPS-->MA

Conclusion: SA-->MA

Answer A: SA-->PPS

The negation didn't help me here since I didn't understand the conditional language at first, which is why I picked the wrong answer. If someone can explain why the negation would hurt the conclusion here, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

Aidin Again,

As the deadline is getting closer and I am getting busier with the LSAT I am looking for someone in Orange County or southern california area that can help me with picking schools, sending applications, looking over my material, help me with personal statement and etc. This would help tremendously by taking some weight off my shoulder with this application process. We could discuss donation amount depending on the quality and the amount of work the person is capable of. If you or anyone you know does this please send me his/her info to me Firouziaidin@gmail.com.

Thank you !

Group BR is awesome, but feel free to disagree with me. I’d hate to create an environment of Groupthink.

IF YOU DON’T CLICK THIS LINK YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE BR GROUP

  • For the newbies: Add me on Skype, using handle dmlevine76 and PM your email for Google Hangout.
  • For the regulars: If for some reason you're not in the group conversation[s] already, just message me on Skype.
  • For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able; join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.
  • Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it."

I'm in DC looking for study partners! I work part time, so my afternoons (after 12:30pm) on weekdays are generally open, plus weekends. I've found I get a lot more out of studying when I'm talking it over with someone else. PM me if you're interested and we can make plans to get together! I'm fresh out of the CC, scoring in the 150's. Planning on April/June LSAT. Aiming for 170!

ill be done with the CC sometime this week and I am taking the October LSAT, i was wondering how often a week should i be taking a practice test and is one a day to much?

Is anyone else familiar with JY's suggestion of turning weakening questions into resolve questions (essentially reading all the premises and negating the conclusion in the stimulus, ultimately creating a paradox)? I have a lot of trouble with weakening questions, but when I turn them into resolve questions they seem so much easier to solve. Is this a method that I should adapt or could it become detrimental?

I can't understand why C is the right answer.

I mean if Stilgoe's case would have been stronger if he used these sources then would that it indicate that their view was more negative towards the railroad then the other writers?

Based on this reason, that's why I chose E, but it turns out E is wrong.

    I'm stuck in this question.

Can anyone tell me how C is right and E can't be an answer?

    Thanks!

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently reviewing PT 37 that I completed yesterday and I'm on section 2 #12. Even watching JY's video, I'm still a little confused about the "cannot" and "without" in the stimulus. Anyway, I was just wondering-- what do you do when you have two indicators but they're in different groups? Or the way that JY presents it, maybe we're disregarding the "without" for being in group 3? And we're just treating it as a "no"?

I mean, either way, for the two indicators in one sentence issue--I feel like there was a lesson on this or that it was mentioned somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. If anyone could let met know or let me know what lesson it was in, that'd be great. And if you can further explain #12 I'd really appreciate it too! Thank you! :) Happy studying!

I'm trying to find a study buddy. My goal is to take the April test but I also have the flexibility of moving the test date depending on my PT results. I have been studying on and off for almost a year. I haven't gone through the CC (in the process right now) but I have read through most of the LSAT Trainer (about a year ago)

I need someone closer to the Middle East and follows GST or something around that since I will be there for the next few months. Though time differences varying 3 to 4 hours are all good since I usually study late into the night – 2 am for me right now :(

The most difficult for me is the Logical Reasoning and I was wondering if anyone had a perfected study guide for me use. I would really appreciate it! Im taking the LSAT in February and am in dying need of help on this one section as of now!

    Hey guys,

I have a quick question for those who have ordered prep tests from Lsac.org. If I order a prep test from Lsac.org, is the test mailed to me or is there an option where I can download it unto my computer and print it out?
