I worked really hard to perfect LG and I thought that I had arrived when I had a few weeks when my LG performance dropped to -0 or, at worst, -1. When that happened, I kept practising and did not become complacent. I knew not to always expect -0.

But what I didn’t expect was to almost forget how to do the games. I started going -4, -5; and that week’s PT was -10.

I don’t know what to do. Is this kind of regression normal? Am I overthinking things?

Hi all,

In an effort to keep myself accountable, I am going to share some concepts that I was initially unfamiliar with onto this forum. The purpose of this is to not only make sure that I am not merely spewing out memorized facts, but also to help others who are unfamiliar with Economics. If there are any errors, please let me know. If you don't find this helpful, feel free to not read.

Inflation

Inflation is the economic concept of prices constantly going up. An example of this is how in the movie Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Darcy is known as one of the richest men in Britain even though his income was only $10,000 in 1813. Inflation highlights the question: Why are prices going up?

Why does Inflation happen?

Inflation happens as a result of at least one of the following concepts.

  • Cost-push Inflation
  • Cost-push inflation is when businesses have a greater increase in costs incurred, and therefore as a result need to push some of these costs onto customers in order to keep their businesses surviving. These increased costs can be incurred as a result of workers demanding more pay, raw material prices (such as oil) going up, etc.

    2.Demand-Pull Inflation

An easier way of remembering demand-pull inflation is recognizing that it is when "there are too many dollars, and too few goods". Basically, it is when consumers have much money and are all chasing after goods that cannot keep up with the demand. Higher prices are the result of the demand being too high.

    3.Printing Money

Governments want to see their economy doing well, and to do this, they may print more money and have an increased circulation of money going around. However, with the increase of money circulation, the value per note becomes less. Instead of this allowing consumers to buy more items, this just causes prices for individual items to go way up (for example, one set of bananas may have costed $2 before the circulation of money, but now $5 because the value of the dollar decreased as more notes were produced). The Window of Opportunity is the point of time where while more money is circulating, prices are still low since it takes time for the value of money to decrease.

Interesting fact about the Window of Opportunity:

  • People can grow the economy during this time by spending more and thus allowing for businesses to hire more workers. This is all before the Window of Opportunity "closes" and the value of money decreases (AKA, time catches up with the new value of money).
  • How can governments cause inflation (prices going up)?

Governments can cause inflation by decreasing taxes, thereby allowing people to have more disposable income to spend. With this disposable income, in the longer term, increased demand causes increases in prices.

NOTE: If I got anything wrong here or if in anyone has anything they wanna add to help others, please comment.

I don't plan on submitting supplementary "Why X" essays with my apps, so I'm wondering how much I should even talk about the school I'm applying to in my personal statement? atm I have a sentence basically ending with "combined with a legal education from X", but that's the furthest I'm going rn.

I fear of coming off as pseudo-researched by just sprinkling little details about faculty and specific programs that are easily accessible off their websites- is this concern ill-founded? And if not, should I even include the sentence I quoted above, or will that just come off as lazy copy+paste work?

Essentially, I am wondering if Law Schools have access to information regarding how many schools I apply to. Can Law Schools see if I have applied to 2 or 20 Schools? Furthermore, if they can, can they see what schools those 20 or 2 are?

The reason I am inquiring is because I would assume Law Schools would use this information in considering my application.

    I selected (E) though (A) is correct.

    (A) "Only Kangaroos can be released earlier than Fiesta."

    (E) "Either Fiesta or Kangaroos must be released first."

How are these answers logically different?

If (A) Kangaroos is released earlier than Fiesta, then Kangaroos = 1, Fiesta = 2.

If (E) Kangaroos can be released first, ergo Kangaroos = 1, Fiesta = 2.

The outcomes of both answer choices strikes me as identical.

    Someone please help!

Let me preface with the fact that I'm SO grateful for my 170 and worked really hard for it! However, given my LSAC GPA (3.73) it looks like I'm still under both medians at most of my top choices/dream schools. I'm already signed up for the November test since I planned to use it as a back-up if things went bad in October. But now I find myself in this awkward place with JUST below median numbers. I guessed on a few questions on the last game of my October test (twas a tough one), which makes me feel like I might've left some points on the table. I'd realistically only be looking to marginally improve to a 171 or 172 (not really shooting for 175+). That being said, who knows, my score could go down.

For context, I'd really like to end up at NYU, Northwestern, Michigan, or Georgetown. I have 3 years of work experience at a law firm, am a first-gen student, my UGPA was a 3.86 because it didn't include study abroad courses (LSAC did), and I think I've got a pretty good personal statement and diversity statement (but so does everybody).

Long story short: to retake or not to retake? Any advice would be helpful, as none of my friends or family understand my dilemma.

    Hello,

Wanted to know what are my chances for going to UF with these scores (trying to get at least 165 for November)

I'm going to write an addendum on why my GPA is low due to my legal issues I had to not go to school

I'm Hispanic with DACA, along with EC of winning state championships for debate

    Bumpy Road but Done

151 --> 145 --> 162 and finally done! I almost completely gave up after getting a lower score my second time around but am so happy I got over it and decided to give this test another shot, test anxiety definitely got to me on the second writing. Thank you 7sage and everyone that has shared their experiences on here!!!

Is it ok to email the school and tell them to use my Oct LSAT score even if they explicitly say that they will consider your application as incomplete if you're registered to take a future LSAT? Because my Oct score is enough for their school, but I'm also trying to get a better score for some other schools...

Does anyone know how to handle situations like this?

    Hello everyone,

I am on the verge of freaking out because the GPA LSAC generated is so much lower than what I ended up with when I graduated. I went to community college before transferring and I had to retake several classes because I was still a child who wanted to hang out with my friends more than study if you know what I mean... When I graduated from my university I had a 3.69, but LSAC generated a GPA of 3.19... I can't find any straight answers on whether or not law schools will be placing a lot of weight on the LSAC generated number.

Which GPA do they really care about?

Help! Now I'm so terrified. I had always considered my GPA to be "safe" for where I was applying, but now I don't even know anymore....

After PTing in the low to mid 160s, even a couple high 160's on my last 20 PT's, I have now failed to break 150 on both August and October LSAT. At this point i've lowered my test goal to a 154-155. I'm registered and scheduled to take my test in November but this would be the last test I am allowed to take until August 2022 due to lsac's rules. I am confused as to why this keeps happening especially when I felt so much more confident after my October test than august but I managed to score below my diagnostic score. Do I defer to January 2022 test or is that too late for this cycle?

    Hey y'all

Writing in here to see if anyone has any advice for making gains on RC - Reading Comp:

I'm taking the November test as my last session before applying, and have not been able to figure out how to improve on RC. On average, I score perfect on Logic Games, and I average 1-3 wrong on LR; which are immense improvements from my original diagnostic range of -4 and -8. For RC however, my gains are not where I would like them to be. I started out in the 8-12 range (terrible I know) and have been able to trim that down to 4-7. Although I have made some solid progress, it just seems like i'm missing something on RC and this is costing me a T-14 score. For LG/LR, when I get a question wrong, it's almost always due to a mistake that I am able to recognize and internalize. I am also able to address the areas that I struggle with, and can address them accordingly. For RC, I realize that there are a couple questions on RC that will simply be too difficult for me to get right. However, my issue is that I continue to miss out on questions that are 50/50, and seem to be making a lot of the same mistakes on the same question types, even after Blind Reviewing for hours. After almost two years of practice, my time spent on passages has barely improved. I average almost 4-5 minutes on the passage, use the highlight functions to a large extent, and occasionally jot down Low-Res summaries for paragraphs.

At this point, i'm not sure if I can say that my issue is a practice thing. I just wish there was some way I could hone in on RC through some supplemental means, resources, courses, books, or exercises that could give me some tips and pointers.

If anyone has any advice that helped them improve on RC, any supplemental resources that they could recommend, or a general diagnosis for my situation, I would appreciate it tremendously.

Best of luck to all of you guys on your Law School journeys, keep grinding!

I applied to 18 schools for this cycle and just sent my last one in yesterday. I have already received a "your application is complete email" from all of the schools, and some have already gone under review (some of the apps I sent in September and were on hold until the October LSAT scores went out). Has anyone received a decision this cycle? If so from what school?

I was wondering if law schools keep track of attendance at info sessions and/or use data mining to track demonstrated interest. Long story short, I registered for a virtual info session but had a last-minute emergency and couldn't attend - could this affect my chances when I apply? Not sure if I should send an email to admissions explaining my absence.

Logged into ProctorU to schedule the November test. Only available slots for any of the days appear to be before...8am eastern time.

Great, so now I have to ask my entire household to get up early on a Sunday and get out of the house before 7:50am (which already sucks because I always PT better later in the day and wanted to take the test early afternoon) all because of this awesome examination system we all pay out the butt to enjoy.

I know, I know, I assume the November test is more subscribed than the others due to admission cycles. But, holy crap! I'd understand if I'd left it late but, dude, the scheduling only opened checks calendar today?? I got the email reminder at lunchtime while I was at work. God only knows what scheduling options there would be left for someone who had the audacity to wait a couple days...

Ah it's whatever but after the sheer nightmare of October's exam, this leaves a really sh*tty taste.

    Hello all!

I am a 2L at Georgia Law. Figure offer advice for anyone interested. Feel free to shoot me an email jonah.******@gmail.com! 7Sage was such a resource for me, always looking to give back.

Currently doing a Semester in Practice with the Department of Justice for the fall semester. Great experience so far! Last summer I worked for a Federal District Court Judge (Northern District of Georgia) and an Immigration Law Firm (Latin American Association in ATL, GA).

I was 154 LSAT, 3.5 GPA, small state school, 4 years work experience, URM status. Any other stats, just ask!

Look forward to answering any questions or comments you may have. I will not be checking my account here often, so email is best.

    Best,

Hi everyone! We recently launched an LSAT tutoring program designed to offer coaching and guidance from top instructors. I’m Raphael, and I’ll be doing an AMA with three of my fellow tutors on November 4th. We’re 99th-percentile scorers (with a 180 among us!) who love all things LSAT. We’re excited to answer your questions about the test, our own LSAT journeys, 7Sage’s new tutoring program, and everything in between.

    See you Thursday!

    See the AMA here (https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/30930/lsat-ama-w-7sage-tutors-starting-now-thurs-nov-4-7pm-edt).

Hello, I'm taking the November LSAT which is just over two weeks away -- at what point did this section click and what advice would you give to get to that point? I used to think about LR as distinct question types but the past month or so I've noticed that almost all question types have similar patterns in their flaws (if argument-based). During BR I'm missing 2-3 but during timed sessions still missing about 7. Any advice for getting around not seeing the arguments clearly during timed practices? Sometimes there are stimuli that I just don't understand when timed but when I BR, it's like DUH! Of course! Any advice getting around that? Advice regarding timing for both LR and RC would be appreciated also. Thank you!
