Hi all!

Last month I finished all the core/prep material from 7sage. I took a practice test and got my best score ever (164!!) but now am struggling with what to do now. I looked at my practice test and saw the areas where I needed work and did some practice questions around those area, but I feel like it is not enough. What should I be doing in between practice tests to keep raising my score? I am feeling a bit aimless right now.

Letter of Rec question

I did a 2 year long research study in undergrad with a highly profound professor and her PhD student. I worked very closely with the PhD student and I know he would have a lot of good things to say about me in a letter of rec. The professor oversaw my work but didn't work as closely with me, however she has a lot of notoriety in her field. I'm not sure if she would write as good of a letter as the PhD student but she has a ton of experience and success.

I have 2 questions:

Is it acceptable to get 2 letters of rec from the same research project? (I can ask other professors as well but I know my research professor and her PhD student the best)

If I only use 1 letter of rec from this project, which one should I go with?

So Basically from my understanding B is correct because since the study were choosing paintings that were aesthetically better does not mean the other preschoolers artwork were displeasing or the experts work is necessary pleasing? Because it seems like the author is saying that because since the participates chose the the experts work over a preschoolers work he assumed that it abstracts expressionist work is pleasing over the preschoolers work which makes the preschoolers work displeasing which isn’t the case because it is no more pleasing than the experts painting? Am I correct with this? Cause I’m a bit confused on why this answer isn’t A.

Is the LSAT above too late to take if I wanted to try to get in for the Fall of 2022? I just got promoted to a paralegal at a family law firm and have re-directed a lot of the already limited time I have available to effectively study applicable law for my job rather than the November LSAT I am registered for currently.

I really want to request a date change because of how stretched thin I am studying for both things.

Can I postpone my November LSAT to January 2022 and still have a chance of getting into school???

Any insight or advice would be super appreciated thank you!

Hey guys.

Since the start of the 3 section/1 unscored section LSATs, how is it graded? I recently saw someone say that the scoring is not the same, so to put my score into the 7Sage calculator isn't an accurate reflection of my score.

Kinda worried here, anyone have any knowledge about this?

Hi all! I've been pondering this question for a while but still have trouble seeing why answer choices (B) and (D) are incorrect.

I tried to supply polar answers to the questions posed in (B) and (D). My thought process was:

  • if woodcutters cut down a tiny amount/proportion of the trees, then monarch butterflies won't fall off, and the tour groups may have only committed a tiny mistake.
  • if woodcutters cut down a giant amount/proportion of the trees, then monarch butterflies will fall off, and the tour groups have indeed made a huge mistake in endangering the monarch butterfly population.
  • Any light you can shed on my thought process (and why it's incorrect) would be greatly appreciated! #help

J.Y. starts the video off and seems to think it's obvious how to diagram the game, but when I did it, I was totally unsure and did three different types of diagrams (one where it's a single row of 5 slots, with each game piece having the lecture hall attached to it, such as OH, OG, etc.; another where it was two columns, one for G and another for H; and so on).

There are several LG I've done where the set-up reads very similar to this one, yet the diagram was totally different in the solution.

How can I identify this game type in the future and know how to diagram it immediately?

I've read both PowerScore bibles and workbooks back-to-back, drilled tons, and done around 10 PT or so, yet consistently I'm scoring around -10 on each LR section and -8 or worse on each LG section.

What am I missing? Was there something that finally "cracked the code" for you? I also just started doing actual Blind Review as of my last PT and Blind Review'ing LG is kind of daunting. Am I supposed to start the game from scratch for those that I have questions I'm not sure about?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! We're all in this together.

    First timer Question

    Hello everyone!

I was hoping for some advice in regards to improving speed across all sections… I have been prepping for quite some time now and have made my way through the lsat trainer, powerscore books, and manhattan prep books. I feel like I finally understand the concepts behind each section/question stem, but my inability to finish each section on time is a major concern.

For context, I have been using the blind review method for about two weeks now, but keep running into the same problem. I am PTing around 156 and feel 100% certainty with the answer choices I submit, but the issue is that I’ll leave every section with around 8 or more unanswered questions. The only reason I’m even scoring a 156 with all of the blanks in each section is because the answers I do finish are always right, and more importantly they make sense to me... But obviously that means very little when my goal is to PT in the high 160s ASAP.

Please let me know if you have found yourself in a similar situation, and if so, what has helped you with your timing? I feel like the blind review hasn’t been helping me with this particular issue, because the missed questions end up being what I review during the untimed assessment and it’s potentially keeping me in the same cycle.

Do you have any ideas on how I can perhaps approach BR differently to tackle this specific problem?

I would truly appreciate any wisdom you can share here! It’s my first time here, so thank you. Also, my lsat is coming up real soon… haha.

Tomorrow will be the day I take an initial diagnostic test for the LSAT—should I start with a more recent test from the selection of practice tests, or does it not matter all that much? Thanks.

I'm a bit confused about the last paragraph. It states that the soil that was taken from land that's been out of production for twenty years contains beneficial microorganisms in the first sentence but when I go further, it states that beneficial microorganisms are lacking (Lines 45-50) so which is it? I thought lines 45-50 supported D but then the first sentence contradicts D so idk what's going on.

    Hi.

So I talked with my employer who is a lawyer who agreed to write me a letter of recommendation.

But she is asking me for specific information for the letter. I'm not exactly what she meant by specific information unless it's the link to submit it. Does anyone know? I kept looking around and tried to look into each law school if they had anything requiring anything for LoRs, but I'm not seeing anything.

    Formal complaint wait time

Has anyone had to file a formal complaint with LSAC about tech issues/wanting to retake? I filed yesterday and I’m wondering how long until I hear back…the retest is less than a week away so I need to know soon…

I took the LSAT years ago and got a 158 and 159, I took it again this July after using 7sage and got 158 again. I know where I could have done better. My Logic games I just was drawing blanks on the first game and jumped to the next one, I feel pretty confident on the next 2 games but with the 4th and going back to the 1st I had about 7 minutes to complete. So with that had to take the time to get the easy for sure questions and guess on the back half with time running down for games 1 and 4.

Just wondering how much those two games probably hurt my score and any other advice besides just repetition of past games?

My RC is probably my strongest area I actually finished my section with about 6 minutes left to go back and play with a few I was unsure of, so not a lot of room for improvement there.

My LR is pretty solid there could be a little more improvement there, but the games is always what kill my score.

So I was utterly confused after reading the first sentence. I just didn't get how they were able to use the color of gazelle teeth to tell whether a group of humans were nomadic or not. I just don't understand how this "support" supports the conclusion that N was nomadic but C were not. How would the color of gazelle teeth tell you anything about human lifestyle?

What are you even supposed to do after reading an argument like this and being utterly confused? I can skip but that just delays the inevitable. I have to come back it. How do you talk yourself out of confusion?

I thought on the LSAT, it was one cause per effect, not multiple causes per effect. Why is the correct answer acceptable in this instance? Shouldn't bulging disks be the ONLY cause of pain and not one of multiple potential factors? And I'm also confused by the use of the term "sufficient." Is this "sufficient" as in the causal sufficient (enough to cause pain) or the conditional sufficient or both?

    Bulging disks---> pain

    Hello everyone!

Preparing alone for LSAT has been feeling a bit isolating. Was hoping to form a study group or have a study buddy towards preparing for the exam in January 2022-- in the least it keeps us motivated, I would think. My score has been all over the place, ranging from mid 150s to late 160s, and was hoping to get it to be more consistent in the late 160s. Do send me a private message if you're interested. Thank you, and wishing you all the best, future Lawyers. :)

    Hello!

I've just about exhausted most LG sections and figured I could benefit from teaching LG as I'm approaching the Nov Test (I also took the Oct Test).

    A little about me:

I go 0/-1 on most LG sections with 7+minutes to spare for most sections. I have a slight background in formal/deductive logic which I think helps a lot when it comes to inferences and conditionals.

I think I can be of most help to those wanting to get faster, and learning how to better diagram/make inferences!

I'm wanting to hopefully tutor after the Nov Test, and would love to get as much experience as possible as knowing how to do X is very different from teaching X.

Shoot me a message if this is something you would be interested in :)

    Best of luck studying!

Does anybody think its not necessary to add in an experimental section? In my opinion i just don't see it working well for me. Not knowing which one is experimental seems to be the worst factor which is eliminated when you add in your own. On top of that i warm up a good bit before a PT, which rules out fatigue. And honestly i don't think i can be worried about fatigue when i study for 5-8 hours on average. Thoughts?
