Hi,

I don't understand why B isn't the correct answer choice for this question. The passage says S and O "make a distinction between this type of uncertainty and that known as "chaos". To me this is pretty clear the mentioning of "chaos" is in order to show that the physical irregularities in S and O's model are not the same type with the ones in "chaos", thus I chose B. I just don't think D is very convincing bc it's not just a matter of degree of unpredictability— this unpredictability is totally a different type.

Hey everyone - I started studying for the LSAT in January and have been putting in 10-20 hours a week. I first began with Mike Kim's LSAT trainer and finished that curriculum by Mid February. I've taken 2 PT's since starting to study, and only saw two points of improvement after about 8 weeks of studying. I then decided to switch to 7 sage in late Feb. I started the curriculum from the beginning and have only been focusing on LR. I just took my first timed section after getting through the majority of the 7sage LR curriculum, and still have THE SAME SCORE as my last full LR section I took in Feb. My Blind review score was a lot better than the timed take of the section, but I'm not sure why the gains I'm making on BR aren't reflecting in my test taking.

I'm getting really discouraged that I can't improve, and that maybe I should give up on this path altogether. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this too early to be getting disappointed? This marks about 12 weeks of studying, and my original hope is to take the test in August.

For this question, I conceived the flaw to be"from correlation to causation, and thus to prescriptive assertion". I was threw off by E at my first sight for its first premise "most people who exercise regularly are able to handle stress."

I guess I wouldn't often read a sentence with "most subjects + predicate" as a correlation. But at hindsight, if I translate the sentence into "over 50% of people who exercise regularly can handle stress.", then the statistics can be a strong indicator for showing a correlation.

So does anyone have a suggestion on how do you usually spot a correlation?

Thank you very much for your help.

Since I don't have an paid account, please pardon me to ask a PT-related question in this manner.

Here is a part of the second paragraph:

"Ellison found these criticisms to voice a common demand, namely that writers should censor themselves and sacrifice their individuality for supposedly more important political and cultural purposes. He replied that it demeans a people and its artist to suggest that a particular historical situation requires cultural segregation in the arts. Such a view characterizes all artists as incapable of seeing the world--with all its subtleties and complications--in unique yet expressive ways, [...]"

I don't understand how could Ellison inferred that the criticism made such a characterization "all artists as incapable of seeing the world_--with all its subtleties and complications--in unique yet expressive ways,".

Those critics attack Ellison by saying Ellison should devote more to a political change and to a distinct African American style. Where is the characterization about all artists' incapableness of see the world?

Thank you for the help.

How do you print out logic games to review as JY suggests? Through here? On LSAT Prep Plus?

Nevermind! I learned figured out how to use the problem set generator and make PDFs from that

Hello ,

I wanted to get some feedback about possible ways to increase in LG/LR or overall LSAT score. I took the LSAT on July 2020 and scored a 137 while working two jobs- With this score, I did not use any of my scratch sheet and did not know how to even properly diagram the games. Sadly. I was lost the entire time. I recently graduated undergrad December 2020. Currently enrolled in a Masters program. My target score is 150+ and I have a 3.79 LSAC CAS GPA. I am focusing much more on improving in games. I am eager to get the LSAT out the way this second time with my LSAC waiver.

My top schools are: Emory, Georgia State and Univ. of Miami.

What's the best way to see gains? Best practices that helped you improve your scores. I would love to go from a 137 in a 150 range.

Any advice is appreciated sincerely. Thank you.

Test Layout

Do we know the order of the sections we'll see on the test? In the practice tests it seems to be random. Also, is the writing sample last and is there any break in between?

Hi, does anyone know how accurate the score conversion from the PTs (when simulating flex) on this site are to the actual flex exam? I only ask because each time I take a practice test and simulate the flex, I score in my preferred range or score somewhat higher. But when I took the exam in October and in January, my actual test scores were 10-13+ LOWER than my usual score on ANY PT.

I don't feel like I do anything different during the real exam vs. a practice test but of course it could just be me choking under the pressure. If that is the case, does anyone have any tips for test day nerves? Preparing again for April 10 and not feeling too confident because I don’t know whether I can even trust my PT progress at this point...

Tutor?

Can anyone recommend a good tutor to break through around 167-169 to the 170+ range? can't seem to break through a plateau on RC, and a couple LR Q types. LG is usually somewhere between -1 to -3.

https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/understanding-and-implications-of-the-new-usnwr-law-school-rankings-methodology/

First, 3% weight will be applied to the average amount of graduate debt incurred by students in the previous year’s graduating class. Only students who have taken on law school debt will be counted in this metric. Higher average debt will hurt; lower average debt will help.

Second, 2% weight will be applied to the proportion of a school’s graduating class who incurred law school debt. Again, higher proportions will hurt; lower proportions will help.

To make room for these new factors, U.S. News has reduced the weighting of two categories. The “Selectivity” factors have been reduced from 25% weight to 21%. Median test scores will now count for 11.25% of rankings, median GPA will count for 8.75%, and acceptance rate will count for 1%.

The Faculty Resources metric has been reduced from 15% weight to 14%.

Some data to play with from LST: https://data.lawschooltransparency.com/costs/debt/?scope=schools

School Avg Loan % of students

Yale University $134,763 70%

Stanford University $147,385 62%

Harvard University $169,968 69%

Columbia University $172,656 65%

University of Chicago $168,429 64%

New York University $168,745 64%

Pennsylvania $167,993 64%

University of Virginia $162,395 63%

Berkeley $154,203 67%

Northwestern $135,597 65%

University of Michigan $126,425 72%

Duke University $143,774 68%

Cornell University $154,195 66%

Georgetown $166,164 66%

UCLA $126,164 69%

Texas $109,189 60%

WUSTL $101,283 65%

USC $131,938 69%

Vanderbilt $121,684 70%

Spivey predictions before the new methodology was announced: https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/2022-usnwr-law-school-rankings-predictions/

(1) Yale

(2) Stanford

(3) Harvard

(4) Columbia

(4) Chicago

(6) New York University

(7) Penn

(8) University of Virginia

(9) University of California- Berkeley

(9) Northwestern

(11) University of Michigan

(11) Duke

(13) Cornell

(13) Georgetown

(15) University of California- Los Angeles

(16) Washington University in St. Louis

(17) University of Texas- Austin

(17) Vanderbilt

(17) University of Southern California

I'm thinking Chicago edges out CLS, the current 3 way split at 9 breaks up. Just outside maybe WUSTL bumps UT. All in good fun... I think rankings come out on the 30th. Also I am apparently incapable of formatting in markdown.

Hello guys! I am taking the LSAT for the first time in August. I started studying March 18 and according to the 7sage study schedule I should be putting in 40-50 hours a week. However I work full time and I am finding it rather difficult to get through the assigned coursework weekly. I am also going through the course in order and I feel like I am not covering all the sections RC LR AR enough. The first few weeks are mostly LR. Im scared because I feel like I am not going to have enough time to do practice tests at the end. But I cant skip the curriculum either because I have no background in the LSAT. How do you suggest I go about my studying

When submitting applications, after paying for the law school report & checking out, is it submitted instantaneously or does it take a few days to process? Trying to meet an April 1st deadline for a certain school and wanted to know if I can submit on April 1st or if I have to do it days before, leaving time for processing. Thank you in advance.

I have been scoring -3 to -7 in LR disregard all the efforts I made just to improve my LR. I have read the manhattan prep LR, the trainer, the loophole and finish about 30-40% in 7-sage.... Any suggestions in how to improve LR?

For anyone who has taken a previous LSAT Flex, is it the same setup as the 7Sage practice tests where you can "X" out answer choices to make them muted or is there no option on the test?

Is there a way for me to create my own study schedule, it is letting me put in my own dates but I want to be able to rearrange the weeks.

I'm switching from working on individual timed games from the problem sets and lessons presented in the Core Curriculum to doing full LG sections from tests 1-35 and wondering if people have some rough timing benchmarks based on game type, number of questions, question types (new premise/suppose + new condition), etc. they use to manage their time across a whole section, to generally know what pacing to keep and when they're probably ahead or behind.

For individual games, I've been using the time stamp provided in the explanation videos for each game, which we obviously won't have on the real test.

It would make sense for this to be in a final wrap-up comprehensive lesson like the wrap-up lesson on board types, but I didn't see anything along these lines in the curriculum. #Help

I have score 162 and 167 on my first two LSATs. I am aiming for a 170 but have never scored over a 166 on PTs. Would it hurt me (for admissions purposes) to take the April LSAT I am signed up for if I am just as likely to score lower as I am to score higher? I assume law schools would see a downward trend as a red flag.

The alternative would be to study another few months and focus on my weakness (LG) then take again in June/August.

However, if a lower score won't hurt me I wouldn't be opposed to taking both the April and a June/August test.
