I did poorly on this October LSAT. If I decide to apply for this fall (2021) anyway, but then take the Jan/Feb LSAT and do better. Can I decide not go to school in 2021 and then reapply in 2022?

Will law schools hold it against me if I don't come and then reapply the following year?

I just wanted say thank you to all you wonderful people. On my third attempt, I've still scored lower than my PT average (thanks test anxiety), but I've decided to move on and apply with what I have----169 (shredder be damned), which I am beyond thrilled with. I was set on retaking in November, but I realized that I've reached the point of diminishing returns, and now it's time to leave the obsessiveness, which has served me well to this point, behind.

I've loved using 7Sage all this time---nearly a year. J.Y.'s videos have been awesome, and the supporting team and community have been likewise. Feel free to AMA if you care to.

So I’m currently a Junior in undergrad, just took October and got a 167 which I’m happy with. I would like to get into Georgetown, so I believe I’m at there median (some sites say 167, some say 168) and my gpa is solid through almost 2 and a half years (3.87). Whats everyone think about Georgetown if I can keep my Gpa up? Also, since I’m only a junior, I won’t apply for another year and a half right? I didn’t know if I could send them stuff early or not, honestly don’t know much about the application process so any help would be great!! Thanks guys!

Hey guys!

This might be a dumb question, but the transcript request stuff on the LSAC website really confuses me. Do I need to actually call my university and ask them to send my transcripts to LSAC? I currently have my school listed and it says that I have a transcript that has not been processed, but it has been close to three weeks... If anyone knows anything please let me know! #help

Hello all!

I am trying to decide whether to apply this year or next year. I'm hoping for some feedback.

Considerations for Applying Next Year:

The main reason that I'm thinking about applying next year is that I would have to RUSH to get everything done to submit this year. Although I'm currently PTing around 165, I won't be taking my first LSAT until November. Realistically, I won't be able to get my applications submitted until mid-December. With that in mind, part of me wants to just wait and apply early next year with an application that I spent more time on.

HOWEVER...

I'm really worried that next year will be even more competitive than this year.

According to this Data from LSAC https://report.lsac.org/VolumeSummary.aspx applications are up 50.7% this year compared to last year. On top of that, it seems that the number of applicants scoring in the 165+ range is WAY up. I'm worried that if I wait another year, the competition will be much greater.

Anyway, I apologize if this is somewhat of a rant. Ultimately, I am really interested in what you guys think and would greatly appreciate any feedback.

P.S. Congrats to everyone who hit their target scores in October!

Score Breakdown:

LG - minus 0 to minus 4

LR - minus 4 to minus 5

RC - minus 3 to minus 7

LG mostly I think I mess up because I go too fast or because of rule substitution questions towards the end. I am working on foolproofing, but yet to consistently hit -0. LR I am working on my weaknesses and mistakes and same with RC. RC is a hit or miss depending on passage difficulty. Is there any advice to break into 170s at least before my November test date?

Do people think it’s worth it to spend a lot of money on applications? I really want to go to BC and would prefer to stay in MA but there are other schools out of state I am thinking of applying to as a just in case. Right now the schools Im thinking of fees add up to almost $800. Should I cut down the list since I want to stay in MA and have a good chance of getting into law schools here? Or should I apply elsewhere just in case?

Hi everyone,

I would really really appreciate any advice I can get. So my CAS GPA is a 3.85 and my LSAT (Oct-flex) is a 173. I know that both my GPA and my LSAT are slightly higher than the school's median, which means that I won't benefit A LOT from applying ED.

Should I still go for it? I'm freaking out because I'm reading everywhere that applications are up by 50% for many law schools and a lot more people have scored 170+ this cycle.

Dejected

So, I got my October flex score back...148. I knew after how terrible the LG section was that it would be bad...but wow. I was PT’ing around 154, which I already wasnt happy about because I have been studying for a year now. Last year when I took it in July, I got a 150. I cancelled because I figured a year from then I would be doing much better...but no. Im truly confused on what to do. Im registered for November, I will take a PT and see how im doing and worst comes ill move it to January. Either way, I want to apply this cycle and seeing what happens. I had a 3.92 from Howard U and am a URM. Great extracurriculars, unique PS/DS, strong work history...its just this LSAT.

Everything is already going way off of my plans. I didn’t initially plan on taking a year off, but here I am. I don’t regret it because I have a great paralegal job and am getting great experience...but I have to face the decision of potentially taking another year off. What if I do and my score is STILL the same? Towards the end of my studies for October, I got a tutor and I realized I haven’t been studying correctly. Thats the only thing giving me hope. In the 4 weeks I had a tutor, I didn’t see a score improvement but I did notice I looked at LR a bit questions differently. I honestly dont know how to feel still..or what to do. I want nothing more than to be a lawyer and really want to go to Stanford or Berkeley.

Any words of motivation, advice or stories of personal experience would be much appreciated.

I've finished the core curriculum logic games section. I feel determined to finish -2 or -0 on the actual Logic Games section come January. When I did the core curriculum. I would do the section timed, blind review, watch the explanation, and usually when I finished the explanation video I would redo the game from scratch and do somewhere between -1 or -0 for those two games in that problem set.

Now that I've finished the whole Logic Games section of the course, I want to do 2 games a day, review them, and repeat the game until I miss none of the questions. I don't think this will take long because after I watch the explanation video, I usually don't miss much and finish with time left. But my question is, should I even bother with doing games from Prep Tests 1-35 since they're old? When I got to the MIsc Section of LG in the course, I noticed how different those games were and how I probably wont see them again in January, and would rather perfect the standard: linear, in/out, grouping etc. games. I'm thinking maybe from now till January I can focus on drilling the Newer/Newest Logic Games?? Thoughts? Also, before I found 7sage I used the LSAC prep books and completed like the first 10-15 Prep Tests that were released on my own, but before I did blind review and had all of the wonderful tricks and tips that I learned from 7sage.

Side note, I did the Logic Games from PT 43 recentlly and went -6. I didn't blind review or time that section, because I was just doing it casually with some Youtube in the background because I was bored.

Hi guys, I'm torn between two choices here: either apply to NYU, my target school, for early decision, or retake the LSAT on January.

My October LSAT came out to be 167, 3 points lower than my PT averages. I have a CAS GPA of 3.88.

I kind of lost confidence to do well on the LSAT anymore because I always struggled with Logic Games in REAL TEST setting. I always panic screw them up. But I also think that my chances are pretty slim with my current LSAT score... What would be the best approach?

I was diagnosed with asymmetric bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and both sides tinnitus. I can't concentrate because of the tinnitus. I hear I can apply for an Accommodation for extended time. if you have any experience or advise please share if my condition will qualify for an accommodation. Thank you all!

Long story short, took my October LSAT didn't do as well as my PT average. What are the chances of being admitted into schools ranked roughly 50 -100 with a 159 LSAT and a 3.7 GPA? I have good extra curriculars (worked for a political campaign, am a published writer, etc.) but should I consider taking the LSAT again? Or will my current numbers be good enough to get me into some these schools? Any advice would help, thanks!

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to say that I'm done with LSAT now (received a 168. Thank you JY!). Congrats on everyone who took the OCT LSAT and good luck to those writing in NOV!

I really need to write my personal statement, but I keep putting it off because I'm quite lost.

I'd like to talk about my religion because it has been my drive during university and the LSAT. It has helped me through depression and has motivated me to keep going. It taught me to be considerate of other people's needs. It taught me to not stress over small details but to imagine the bigger picture. It also taught me perseverence as I study texts every day (I've never had a daily routine until I started doing this!)

Religion had played a huge part in shaping who I am now, but I am afraid if it might put me at a disadvantage if I'm straightforward with it...

Should I talk about it?

I'd love to hear your opinions :)

Hello,

I did not think I would be writing this question but I am in a very strange place. I have been studying for the LSAT for many months but I joing 7Sage very recently. I am debating moving my test date from Nov to Jan, because I had plans to teach aboard strating in Jan but with the Covid situation being very unstable it is likely that I will not be departing as planned. I am personally, very torn about what I should do because if I take the test in Jan, I am worried I will be to late to apply this cycle but I could keep studying. (fyi not going for a T14.)

However, there is the possibility that even if I took the LSAT in Nov and applied this cycle, my travel and teaching would be pushed to Sept 2021 and I would have to defer admission. I have to make a decision about this before the 30 of Oct because that is the last day to change without a fee, however, I will not know about my status until the week of Nov 15. (same as test week...)

I would really appericate some advice on the matter and outside viewpoints.

Hi there,

I took my first LSAT this October and got a 147... I am of course booked to write again but am wondering if it is worth it to cancel my score or just leave it? I am worried that it looks bad but I also do not want to lead my application with that score. I do think that I can do a lot better as I have already seen an 8+ increase in my pt's (I also am aware most people advise not to however, while searching the forum this seemed to be the advice for the regular LSAT when you could not do score preview and I didn't see any posts about scores this low). I am also applying to Canadian schools and I am aware that 147 is not a competitive score by any means. Any input is welcome!
