Hey there,

A little background on me. Started studying, full-time (forty hours a week) in November of 2019. I was scoring in the mid to high 160s consistently. I took my first official exam in January 2020--had a horrible test day and came out with a 164.

Started studying again, this time for about 20 to 25 hours a week, in April. I had five practice tests in a row where I scored a 174. Then I hit slump and my scores hovered around 170. I took the June 2020 Flex and scored a 170.

Looking to take the test one final time in August 2020 and hoping to score a 173. I should be able to devote 20 or 25 hours a week to studying.

I typically go from -0 to -3 on LR, -3 on RC (almost every time, which is frustrating) and logic games is a bit all over the place (when I'm in the right headspace I only miss 1 or 2, but sometimes have an off day where I mess up a whole game).

I've taken probably fifty practice tests, finished the core curriculum on 7sage, gone through the Powerprep books on LR and LG, and read the Loophole book for LR.

With only about 13 fresh practice tests, I'm unsure of how to best use my studying time headed into this last retake. For anyone that's been in a simular situation, what would you recommend? It feels like I need to refine rather than learn anything new so this go-around seems different than either of the previous two.

Thank you for any advice you've got!

Hi, so I am scheduled to take the July FLEX on the 14th and am not comfortable with my scores as of now. I have been studying pretty seriously since around January and am averaging 168/169 on my recent PTs with my highest score being 171(although that was a few weeks ago.) I used the PowerScore Bibles and Khan academy for the most part and only came to 7sage around a week ago. Since using JY's explanations for LR I have improved a few of my LR problem areas, but as I'm still averaging -3/-4 per LR section I know I can target a few more question types with a reasonable expectation that I can improve those as well. LG is typically my best section and I tend to average -1/-2, however RC has seriously been tripping me up lately. Initially it was my strongest section but lately I have been missing anywhere from 4-6 questions in a given RC section. My goal is a 173 and I'm wondering if there is any way I can possibly get there in such little time, and if so would it be more prudent to continue drilling LR in hopes of getting that closer to -1/-0 or to spend the majority of the time I have left to target RC? Has anyone had any breakthroughs in RC in such a short time frame? I'm definitely beginning to trip out with the test date so close and not having reached my goal yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Memorization

How important is memorizing Groups 1-4 on a scale of 1-10 and why don't we throw in Conclusion & Premise indicators?

Hi all, I am registered for the July Flex and was wondering if anyone who took the June Flex has any tips/insights? I am nervous about taking the test in my home and I've also heard some horror stories about proctors not showing up on time/not muting their mic and other technical issues. I also have been practicing on a tablet however now that we have to take it on a computer I wanted to know if that posed any specific issues for anyone? I took on PT on a computer to see and had a significantly lower score than usual, so I'm not sure if its just a fluke or if there are any strategies to taking a test on a computer vs a tablet I can employ. Also I am PTing in the low 170s and I generally miss 1 LR in one section and 3 in the other and so forth, so I am nervous about the LSAC only giving one LR section and doubling that score as it could either really help or hurt me.

Honestly any insight into the flex format and helpful strategies would be greatly appreciated!

Is it recommended to do the core curriculum in order? It was my understanding that most people begin with logic games, however logical reasoning appears to take up the first month+ or so of studying. Is it ill-advised to go out of order for the core curriculum?

Can someone break down the stimulus and translate it for me? I feel like I don't understand what the stimulus is trying to say.

Why does the society has a policy decision to make? why pay $240,000? does that mean the society is paying for the experiment? why is it 120 * $2000? Also why is it only saving one more patient, if the drug goes onto the market wouldn't that benefit more people since its 1 more person per 120? And lastly why is the NA here is there is no other way of telling if S effective as T? Isn't the stimulus already established that trial shows that T would prevent 1 more death out of 120 than S would? So isn't that the effectiveness of the drug?

I'm confusion.

Hi everyone,

I am planning on taking the June LSAT Flex in Asia and had to secure a time slot last week.

Well.. the available time slots all looked ridiculous. I guess this is because they need to follow the US time?

The only available time in Asia time was in the range of something like 5:20am, 5:30am, 5;40am., or, 9:30pm, 9:40 pm.

  • no single time slot available between those two extremes (either 5am-ish in the morning or 9pm-ish at night. oh, there were a few more on 1~2am.....)
  • These are all ridiculous..... I chose a night time slot because I just am not a morning person (although the usual 8:30am start time for regular LSAT should have been reasonable). I do believe LSAT heavily requires you to have intense focus and concentration (and that's why the regular LSAT starts from 8:30...isn't it?)

When I tried to find more information, there wasn't much.

is anyone having a similar problem right now? or, which time slot would you recommend? or should I contact the LSAC for this (don't think they will do much about it...)

I am soooo not looking forward to this.

Hello, I seem to be having a major issue when reviewing problem sets that make navigating the site near impossible. The answer choices, question difficulty and stimulus difficulty info are completely absent and the priority and explanation video are located to the left of the succeeding question. Has anyone else run into this problem/know how to resolve this issue? I have reviewed older problem sets to see if this bug impacts them but they seem to be perfectly formatted still.

    Kind regards

    Thank you 7sage!

I took the June 2007 test in late May after studying on and off with Khan Academy for about a year and scored a 161 (at that time, my record was 165). I have been planning on applying this upcoming admissions cycle, so yes, I decided to cram the whole of CC in about 1.5 months. I finished the CC today and took the February 1997 PT and scored a 174. To be honest, I can't believe it. I had seen a few LR questions and one LG game so the score may be a bit inflated, but I feel like my reach schools are actually very attainable now. I have so much confidence in my abilities now and am excited to continue to drill and see how much I can continue to improve before I submit my applications.

Bottom line is that I want to thank 7sage and JY for putting together such an awesome and intuitive learning experience. Before I found this site, I was feeling defeated, demoralized, and demotivated at the slog it felt like I had ahead of me. Today, I know that I've put in the work and will continue to do so, but my dreams wouldn't be possible if it weren't for everyone one here.

    Thank you!!!

Can anyone explain why the correct answer here is C instead of E?

My problem with C was that, in order for C to weaken the stimulus, we'd need to assume that the landlords would take out the energy-conserving equipment once they install the energy meters. If the energy-conserving equipment stayed in once they installed the energy meters, then I don't know how any energy would be conserved because the tenants are living within the same energy standard whether they have the meter or not.

Thus, I thought that a better answer would be E. Granted, E does say "some" making it very logically weak, but at least it reveals something that could weaken the argument in the stimulus (which I don't think any of the other answers even come close to doing). If some people conserved energy for non-financial reasons before landlords installed the energy meters, then this would make it more likely that these people would not care about the new energy meters because they never saved energy for financial reasons in the first place.

    Thanks!

    Best regards

Hey everyone. I've been studying for the LSAT for over a year now, and I was finally hitting 170-175 on a consistent basis until this past week. Despite having gotten 172/173 on my last several practice tests, I scored a 163 and a 164 on my two most recent ones. I'm taking the July LSAT in 10 days. Has anyone experienced pre-test drops in performance like this? I'm assuming this is due to test anxiety, but I'm unsure how to mitigate these issues because I want to keep practicing before the test. This time may be my last chance. Any advice is appreciated!

    Hey,

So I started studying and using the LSAT Prep Plus interface to take practice exams before subscribing to 7sage. Is it possible to import my test results from my completed practice exams into the 7sage interface to take advantage of the Grader for scoring and tracking?

    Thanks

Hi I was reviewing PT65.4.5. There is a sentence that says "The plaintiff has applied to the court for an order permitting her to question each defendant without their codefendants or their codefendants' legal counsel being present."

Let's say codefendants stands for A. Codefendants' legal counsel being present stands for B. The sentences says the order permits her to question each defendant without A OR B. I'm wondering whether I should treat the it as without (A or B ), or (without A or without B ). The former should mean [no A and no B], the latter should mean [no A or no B]. How do I decide how to interpret the sentence?

And what about without A AND B?

I came up with an example myself. I can live without video games OR sugar. I would naturally think it means if I don't have video games AND sugar, I am still fine. But if the sentence says "I can live without video games AND sugar", it seems to mean the same thing. So what's the difference?

Additionally, "if I don't have video games and sugar" also seems to mean the same thing as "if I don't have video games or sugar" in English, right? Even if logically the latter has three possibilities -- no video games only, no sugar only, no video games and no sugar, when you say the latter, you actually mean no video games and no sugar, right?

Hey guys, so having signed up for a slot for International Flex with ProctorU, it seems like both LSAC and ProctorU are operating in US time zones.

In my case, for AEST, my available slots were between 6pm to 7am, and I signed up for a 7:20pm one.

I've never taken a night time standardized test, I've noticed that my timed PTs are scoring 5-7 marks below my morning averages.

Any tips on how to prepare for this kind of timing?

I’m led to this question because of these steps (below) that I took lol. Correct me at any point if there is a flaw in how I went about it!

In 72-2-25, /A and /B strengthens A cause B. We want to strengthen the argument’s assumption by showing that A causes B (buy online cause /use car), so we say /A and /B (/buy online and use car). This makes sense to me intuitively because the CAC is saying that /cause correlated with /effect, which strengthens the relationship between cause and effect.

OK SO, IF /A ← correlated→ /B strengthens A -cause-> B (what we have above - no cause and no effect strengthens cause → effect ), does that mean:

    A -cause-> B, which implies A ← correlated→ B, implies /A ← correlated → /B?

And if the answer is yes or no, is there a cleaner theoretical reason why?

*footnote: I shortened direct mail advertising (buy phone or online) from 72-2-25 to just “buy online” to focus purely on the theory part. From 72-2-25: https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-72-section-2-question-25/, but this idea has also come up for me as a question in other causation q's.

    Disclosed Report

Has anyone gotten their disclosed report from the June Flex yet? Mine still says that it's not available for me to view

I just finished fool proofing games from 1-35 and I was consistently doing most of them all right within time once I got a hang of it. I took two full timed sections today and scored -4 and -5. I did my blind review (before seeing my results) under timed constraints and managed to get a -0 and -1. Is this a transitioning issue that will go away once I do full sections more frequently or do I have to approach sections differently?

    Hi all -

I have always wanted to take the LSAT but have been putting it off for YEARS. I signed for 7Sage 5 years ago and never followed through. This year I have decided that I want to start studying and hopefully be ready to take the LSAT this year. I’ve never studied so it’ll all be super new to me. If you’re just getting started as well or are interested in partnering up, please let me know. I’m located in MA and most likely will be looking at schools here when I start applying. I should also add that I have most of the LSAT study materials (LSAT bible books, past actual tests, etc.). I just need to get started and take at least the first test to see how I score while managing my FT work and family needs.

    Hi there!

I was scheduled to take the July Flex test, but after careful consideration, I decided to move it back to August. I have been studying since beginning of April (gone through the power score books and Khan Academy), however, I just recently discovered 7sage and have only gone through about 15% of the CC. My last 3 PT's I have scored 159. My goal is to consistently score between 161-163.

I am very close to having mastered LG and usually get -1 to -5. RC is usually around -6 to -9 and LR -6 to -9 as well.

I am feeling a bit defeated already with changing the date, but I do believe I can achieve my desired score with 2 more months of solid prep (with a little bit of help!).

    Thank you!!
