I wish someone could hold my hand through this process and help me every step of the way. Does anyone tutor people on this stuff? God, help me.

Diversity statement question:

  • I am a member of the LGBT+ community. It rarely affects my life, but there have been a few memorable times that it did. The admissions course says that this is a "green light" topic, and I'm sure I could spin something good out of it. I also have a physical disability that I could probably write something about if it is worth the time to do so. Do schools really like reading about this stuff?
  • Personal statement question:

*Trigger warning (violence)-- because I'm a millennial, and it's a thing we do...

  • I guess I'm wondering if this is too personal. I'm a mass shooting survivor. My experience is the main driver of my decision to become a lawyer. I don't want to word vomit feelings that make the readers uncomfortable or make them feel like they're in traumaland. I also don't want to write something that makes my decision seem vengeful-- like I'm out to save the world because somebody who sucks destroyed it.
  • I feel like a lost puppy.

I quit my job to study LSAT(commuting was a burden so I thought this would be time-efficient). Which will give me a min.6months to max 1year blank on my resume. Will this be alright when I apply to law school? I am not young and it's been quite a while since I graduated so I'm concerned about this..even my previous career has nothing related to law. what do you guys think?

So I took PT 38 on Monday after taking a break for a week and getting back into the groove... I know it's not a huge improvement but I'm trying to celebrate small victories to help myself stay positive.

I had an 8 point jump from my diagnostic! I still have a lot of work to do before I hit my target score and BR goal but celebrating small victories has really improved my attitude. If I'm honest, the day before I took the PT, I was feeling so stressed and began losing my confidence in my abilities. I cried for a good hour then I told myself that I need to get myself together and do what I need to do. I'm happy with myself to see the strategies I've adopted for my second try is paying off and I hope everyone sees improvements as they progress in their studies (3(/p)

Do you look at all the answer choices if you know you are 100% certain on an answer choice before getting to E? There are many LR questions that I know are 100% right at choices A, B, or C (if I get to answer D I will go to E regardless, even if it goes against what this question is asking). I was thinking of just circling these questions and going back to them if I have time. Any thoughts would be much appreciated it.

I can’t decide, though I’m leaning towards Ultimate or Ultimate plus. I’m in the middle of the free trial and while it’s been helpful in a very general sort of way, I really need hands-on practice with a lot of structure... similar to “now do problems x, y, and z.” I know you must be thinking what is she a five year old... but I think this would work best for me. Are the courses structured along these lines (roughly)?

    Hi All,

I am very close to being 50% done with the Core Curriculum. Is it a good idea to take a PT just to start getting into the habit of applying what I've learned thus far and check to see if there's been any progress?

I've only taken one PT (the 7sage diagnostic).

    Thanks!

Title is pretty self explanatory. Should you apply only to schools that you could see yourself working / staying there or should you apply to schools outside of your state / province . Some context I live in Ontario and plan on applying for Ontario based schools . That being said they are pretty competitive. Applying up north might give you more chances, but I would probably like to practice in Ontario and that could hinder my chances of networking as well as a feel for the laws of that area. Would love to hear feedback on this topic.

Hi! I am just getting back into studying after taking a month off. I was studying for the June test, but decided to push it back to September. I feel a bit rusty. Should I get right back into taking preptests and doing drills? Any suggestions? Would really appreciate any feedback!!

    Thank you

I have an aunt/uncle who graduated from a specific Law School I'm applying for. They were very accomplished at this school and have gone on to become very successful in there career. My question is it proper for this person to right me a letter of recommendation for this school, or possibly another one? If this person is happy to help is there any part they can play in helping my admissions process?

    Hey all,

I (think) my profile constitutes as a reverse-splitter for Berkeley and Cornell. I want to know (as realistically as possible) what my chances are (I would appreciate it if you do not simply say "not good", because I already know they are not good xD).

I am also curious as to what the profiles for those at/under the 25th percentiles for these schools are like. Is it mostly based on luck?

For convenience, here are the class profiles for Berkeley and Cornell (as published on their sites):

    Berkeley Class of '20: LSAT(164/167/168), GPA(3.66/3.79/3.88).

    Cornell Entering FL17: LSAT(163/167/168), GPA(3.68/3.77/3.87).

    Thanks in advance!

I feel like I am heading towards burnout territory.. but I am in complete denial and I do not want to take a break. Is it possible to recover from burnout without taking one/two weeks off?

Does anyone else find that these logic game sections in PT 39-45 are extremely easy? I'm feeling really confident right now getting -2 in the games. I'm afraid that this might be a false confidence. Do they get more challenging in later tests?

Hey guys tried 7 Sage for prep this year and loving it! RC and LG are almost flawless but having some LR issues. Not really one type of question either so just looking for some advice or tools available with 7sage that I might not be as familiar with or overlooking to help ( I know we have LR Drill packets but not sure how or when to use them). Working on a full PT every other day from now until the July LSAT. Thank you for any and all help or advice.

I want to thank you guys especially for the logic games explanations. From my first diagnostic to my most recent PT, I improved my AR from -13 to -2. It's not a fluke. I'm not a genius. I'm a regular guy who spent the time to learn the wisdom offered here. Thank you so much. You've helped me tremendously as I prepare for the September exam

I'm gonna be completely honest, I just started LG after a month of LR and I keep bombing each problem set. I may get them right but take double the time i should ideally be taking. Any advice? Did anyone else start rough too? I'm just getting a little worried because I've booked my test already, little discouraged and just wanna see how I can tackle this better. All the best to you all!!

    Hi everyone,

I am nearly complete with the CC and am looking to develop a successful post CC strategy. I have already viewed the post CC webinar and plan to follow the advice provided. Excluding the advice that is provided in the post CC webinar, does anyone have any personal post CC study strategies they would like to share? I know this is an open ended question that largely depends on my areas of weakness / target score. (165+)

What, if any, are some strategies you wish you would have known prior to beginning your post CC studies?

For example: How exactly did you go about fool-proofing LG (by section or game type?), did you keep an LSAT journal for troublesome topics...etc.

I am open to any advice in LR, LG, or RC.

I understand the last sentence of the stimulus which states that higher temperature = higher molecule movement. The second sentence states 'rhodopsin molecules sometimes change shape because of normal molecular motion, thereby introducing error into the visual system'. J.Y links this second sentence with the last sentence, stating that higher molecular movement = more error-prone. What I am confused about is how the second sentence shows this. As in for me, the second sentence seems to say that molecular motion = errors; it doesn't mention anything about more molecular movement equaling more errors. I must be missing some vital connection somewhere.

I’m looking for any study partners for the reading comprehension section. It is definitely my worst section but I’m willing to discuss questions and reading strategies. I have tests 62-71 and I’ve taken 72, 75, 79,80,81. Let me know if you are willing to form a group!

(When you're past the third hour of the BR call)

If you are done the curriculum or almost done the curriculum, join us when you can. We welcome people in all stages of prep. The point of the group is to get your lsat nerd on with other like-minded people and make the process more fun. Expand your thinking and learning by interacting with others! For my fellow shy-people, everyone is going to be focused on their own answers/questions that I guarantee you they will not be judging you based on mispronounced words, reading-speed, etc. It's all for fun!

Note: Take the PT under timed conditions; BR to the best of your abilities; join us for all or part of the call! For the purposes of the group please don't check the answers beforehand. If you happen to know the answer, keep it to yourself, and win the argument using your reasoning. Also, please don't go "so I know the answer is C but I don't know why B is wrong?" as the purpose is so that we all collaborate on improving our reasoning skills.

Enter the questions you wish to go over on the spreadsheet below! Write your name beside the question(s) you wish to cover, if the question(s) you want to cover are already marked by someone else, add your name! :) The more discussion, the merrier.

Abit of housekeeping: I am going into my fourth year of undergrad this fall and will be applying to Canadian Law Schools; mainly Ontario. My success in the first two years of undergrad (2.8-3.0 OLSAS GPA Calculator) were negatively influenced by marital issues in the home stemming from my father’s mental health (depression). I was also clinically diagnosed with ADHD in September 2017 and have been medicated since. This past year I was able to pull through do the best with the cards i’ve been delt to achieve an 85% avg or 3.85 GPA, which is anticipated to increase this coming year. This will give me 2 bad years and 2 better/good years of undergrad which i’m hoping some schools can look past due to the circumstances.

LSAT: I am currently registered for the July 2018 test and have been studying for the last two months on an average of 20 hours per week (Powerscore trilogy). I am also working 40 hours a week which makes it somewhat difficult to balance studying, family life, and maintaining friendships and the relationship I have with my girlfriend. I am starting to get overwhelmed due to my fully simulated and timed 4 section PT’s which produce results in the 150-153 range. BR usually brings me up to the low 160’s, however I have only done a handful of tests. I feel that I will not be ready for test day which I hope to score a165 (very ambitious for my current state). I am considering postponing until September but I also want to have adequate time to do my personal statements, gather LOR’s, and complete my application. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:)
