From some anecdotal evidence I've seen on TLS it seems they're more willing to throw money at super splitters than most other schools, so if I can't get in ED and secure that 50k a year I'm hoping I can still negotiate something for living expenses. -

Depends on what your definition of a "good College" is. For example, if you are thinking about T20s and you really can't afford more time and resources, I'm inclined to think your chances are quite slim. Retaking may be your only option. -
