It seems as answer A is actually agreeing with Lee's argument. Am I incorrect by thinking that the question stem is asking for us to refute Lee's argument?

So for questions where they ask you to refer to a given statement in the question stem, are we looking for a subtle answer that's not too specific in general?
For MSS/must be true questions on RC that don't have a point of view in the question stem, can we assume that they are looking for what the author thinks? Ex:what is most strongly supported? What can be inferred from the passage?
