Hi 7sagers!

I'm back for some of your never-ending help. I'm based in Dallas, TX and will be writing my first LSAT in June 2018, I've read that the testing locations fill up rather quickly - specially the "best" ones - so I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction.

The closest testing centers to me are the Bill J Priest Center for Economic Development, and the Collin County Higher Education Center in McKinney. I'd like your input on either or both of these locations if you've tested in them, what are your thoughts? What's my best option? My aim is to register by the end of the week.

Thanks again!

After realizing that I've been following a poor study plan, I now think I need to go back to fundamentals. As a side point, I am also going to fool proof games 1-35 while returning to cc because I have a bad habit of focusing on one area and neglecting others. I was wondering how others go about reviewing the cc for a second go. Chronologically, or by jumping around? Do you also do all of the drills within the lessons over again?

I work full time. I've been studying for a long time now, but I've only taken 5 practice tests. I realized halfway through pTing that there were some basics that I had not mastered.

I want to take in February. I want to take a lot more practice tests but I work full time and it's simply not realistic for me to take them during the week. So I guess the only way to take as many as possible is to do two full, timed tests per weekend. If I do this, I can squeeze in 12 tests as opposed to 6 before the real test date.

I am just curious as to whether anyone here has done that. Two per weekend sounds fine to me, but I am afraid that two in a row will be too much? But maybe I'm being crazy. I know some people do one per day, so two per weekend shouldn't be too much.

@"Dillon A. Wright" Hey Dillon, not sure if you remember, but last time we talked I had issues accessing my notes because there were so many. I know you told me you fixed it, but I'm having the same issue. Can you please look at it for me?

If I could somehow transfer all notes into a word doc or if you have some other idea in order to clear up space so this doesn't happen anymore, let me know. I'll be honest, I take a lot of notes, it helps me study.

Thanks,

Anthony

Is retaking in February worth it?

Hello everyone,

I got my test scores back from December and got a 169 (up from a 165 in September) which is pretty close to my PT average of a 171. I'll be applying to most of the T-14 minus Yale and was wondering if it'd be worth it to retake in February? Just for reference, my GPA is a 3.93 which will go up to a 3.96 once LSAC receives my Fall semester grades. What do you think?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I had severe test day anxiety and froze up during the test. I just got my score and its a 155. My preptests were solidly 170-174. I have a 3.98 GPA from a top college. I am applying for accommodations for my next test. Does an initial 155 ruin my chances of going to a top school (Harvard, Columbia, Stanford) if I'm able to score a 170+ with accommodations the second time around?

Thanks,

Claire

Hi guys. I’ve made a stupid mistake in my applications. I’ve already completed and send in most of my applications; however, I recently got my driving record and found out one of the two speeding tickets I got was 20+ and it counts a reckless driving which is considered a misdemeanor in the state I’m from. Is there anyway I could update this information on my application that I’ve already submitted by notifying the schools? It happened several years ago and honestly didn’t even realize it was so serious until I got my record. Should I just email or call the admissions office for each school I applied it?

URM?

Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm considered a URM. My father is South Asian and my mother is African American. Are South Asian's URM?

I'm applying to NYU, UPenn, NW, BU, UCLA, and Georgetown.

Question, I received a 143 on my lsat and the school I'm looking at 25th percentile is a 145. However, my gpa is well over their 75th percentile. I have already submitted my applications, do I ask the school to hold the application until I take February's test? Also if i retake the February test and get a higher score, do they consider that for scholarships?

I got a 170 on the December test but think I'm capable of more (my recent PT avg was around 172). If I were to be wait listed at a T6, could sending a higher Feb score get me accepted? Are there any drawbacks to taking Feb (other than having to study more)?

February Retake Advice

After having received my December score (152) I have chosen to retake in February. Leading up to December I used the Trainer and Powerscore for LG. I was PTing between 158-162 consistently which is my target score range. Not sure what went wrong on test day, probably a combination of nerves and not having a full grasp on LR. (typically would go -6 to -8 while PTing for LR) What would be the best way to increase my understanding before February? Focus back on the Trainer or sign up for a CC course or just drill and BR? Thanks

The Big, Bad Feb LSAT

I'm taking the Feb 2018 LSAT. Why is the Feb test so dreaded? Just because they report the score? Is that paranoia or is there some evidence that it is harder? Also, who takes the Feb test? June seems like overachievers. Sept/Oct obviously most popular. December has many retakes. I didn't think much of this until I googled it (a regret).

I just got my LSAT score and i got a 170, I am not sure if i will take it again, however, this would not have been possible without the guidance of the 7sage community. I absolutely sucked at standardised tests but with 7sage's help I was able to improve my skills a lot. It was especially helpful cause i am an international student and English is not my native language (my RC was as bad as it can get).Thank you guys. Also, i will be happy to help anyone here looking to break plateaus or anything else with whatever knowledge I have of the LSAT. Don't give up guys, this was not my first attempt and i thought i will never touch a 170.

Hey everyone,

I need advice. I was planning on using the next two weeks to write the optional essays for the schools I'm applying to, thinking that the December exam scores wouldn't come out until ~January 3rd. But now that the scores are coming out tomorrow, I'm debating whether or not I should write the optional essays or not. For example, the ones for UPenn, UMich, etc. I know there's a benefit to submitting early, but also a benefit to writing the optionals, but only if the optionals are good.

https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/bid/153416/should-i-write-the-optional-essay

I read through this article that essentially said, "If you feel like your optional essays will be forced, then don't write them."

If I'm being honest, I feel like they will be forced, but then again I haven't 100% committed myself to the writing process - I just haven't had enough time.

Thoughts? Advice?

Hey, all. I was recently having a convo with someone else studying for the test. The convo was regarding timed and untimed scores. I said that if one scores the same on a timed PT as on an untimed PT that indicates a lack in knowledge and fundamentals because untimed you have time to think out strategy and whatever else to get the correct answer but you still didn’t. The other person didn’t agree. What are your thoughts?

Hello! I just need some advice. I got the same score on my LSAT score from December 2016 and December 2017, do I need to write an addendum twice or can I just submit my application? The reason for the gap in taking the test is I decided to take a year off before starting law school and I retook the test to see if I could get a higher score or not.

LSAT Prep Course

So, this may be the worse place to ask this, but the TLS page on this has many outdated links and information. My question is has anyone done an in class prep course? If so, how did you like it? Did you mix in 7sage info with your course If so, was that helpful? Also, any general pros and cons about in class prep specifically with powerscore or any company. Thank you!
