Dear reader! As many of you know (and may fear), the January LSAT date is fast approaching this week. I am feeling unmotivated and anxious about my exam, as I am still averaging a few points from my ideal score (170). I am trying to strike a balance of being realistic with myself, but also wanting to do the very best I can. I know that there is no magic wand that can change my score at this point, but I was hoping someone with similar experience can lend a few tips and tricks for going into this week.
I've been studying every day since September, and I think I am starting to accept that I will not be able to get over the mid-160s hump. I've improved a lot since then, so while I am a little disappointed, I am trying to focus on the positives and appreciate my progress! I do notice the greatest drop in score when I am not feeling confident, and I would ideally just like to score at the higher end of my averages. Does anyone have any advice on how to feel my best going into the test? How to just be stable and perform as usual?
In any case, this can be a space to vent/stress/encourage one another :-) let's all do well for January! Thanks in advance!
Registered for the January LSAT, taking it in less than 4 days. It's not my first time taking it, but I wanted to know what high scorers did in preparation so close to the test. Should I do another PT, keep it light and just do drills? Sections? Review WAJ? Goal is 165.
Would appreciate any tips and tricks, also ways in which to keep the nerves down (it doesn't get easier)
Good Luck to the January test takers!!
I am a full-time university student with a demanding management job, a relationship, family commitments, and just life stuff in general. I've been trying so hard to balance everything and focus on my LSAT prep, but it is just so draining at times. No matter what I do or how many sacrifices I make, I feel like I never have enough time. And when I push through regardless of my exhaustion, I end up doing poorly on everything I'm trying to balance. Any advice to deal with this kind of lifestyle?
Took my first Prep Test about a month ago and got a 144. Today I took my second one and received 151. While it is low it is closer to my goal of 165+. I plan on taking the LSAT in April. Any tips to improve my score?
What just happened in the discussion posts? O.o
I’m not sure who to ask, but I feel like I’m losing it.
I’ve been looking at law schools in my area and reviewing their LSAC grids, which show admission chances based on LSAT scores. About 2–3 weeks ago, when I last checked, I wrote down how many applicants there were and how many were admitted.
When I looked again last night, the numbers and percentages had changed dramatically. It’s still showing the 2024 grid, but the applicant numbers and overall competitiveness have increased a lot compared to what I remember/ wrote down. I know law schools have raised their medians, but I thought that applied to the 2025 cycle. Since the 2024 cycle is already over, I don’t understand why the competitiveness appears to have increased so much in just couple weeks.
if you dont know what I am talking about, go to LSAC website, go to My School List, go to any school you have entered, click on the school description, scroll all the way down, click on "explore admission data for X" and you will see and have an idea of competition there.
Hi guys!
I am assuming Link Assumption is diagramming stuff which is my weakest point. Which Fast Track and lessons should I go over again so it clicks? Thanks
what's the rule of thumb? longer they havent decided, the longer they trying not to say no? I'm on 4 weeks no without a Yes or No
anybody have any tips on how i can improve my timing on RC? I’m hardly ever able to get through all 4 passages during a timed PT. i usually have 1-5 mins left when I get to the last passage :/
Hi guys, I just wanted to know if drills when you click start new LR drill for example it actually does target your weaknesses or it chooses random stuff. Thanks for the help!
Hi I recently took a drill and during review in one of the explanations I saw a live video where a student was taking a full PT. I though it was super helpful.
Are there any more of these videos on 7sage?
I dont know if its just me or anybody else, but is anyone else having issues with the format when you highlight something, on drills. The format seems to like move around, its hard to explain lol. It is bothering me so much.
I'm currently running into an issue where, during blind review, my test-taking interface will begin timing out when I switch between questions. The problem persists after clearing my browser cookies, restarting my computer, and trying to use 7sage on different computers; I've also seen other users post about the same glitch. The interface also has generally been quite slow/irresponsive during blind review as well. I'd appreciate any help with this, since it makes the test taking interface functionally unusable. Thanks!
When I was doing the PT blind review, the page wasn't responsive, and I had to wait several minutes for the next question to load. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I've tried three different computers, used various Wi-Fi networks, accessed it through an incognito window, and ensured my Chrome version was up to date.
Is there a list showing where to start the live and recorded videos?
Hello!
I'm going through the core curriculum, and I understand that there is both a video and written section to many of the lessons. Should I both watch the video and read the written form of it? I find that sometimes the written part includes more (or sometimes less) than what the video says, but it generally is about the same content. I don't know if it would be good to solidify what I'm learning by receiving the content twice by both watching and reading each lesson. It is taking a good amount of time, however.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
In Christ,
Emma
I dont know, if its just me or anybody else, but the 7sage website is not working properly since yesterday. I have tried different browsers, no use. I am doing review on my PT, and it is taking so long to go to the next question, sometimes I have to exit out and then log back in again? Is anybody else is facing this issue??
So I've been studying since January, with my studying getting more intense after May. My diagnostic was a 159 but every PT I've taken has remained at around a 156. The only time I broke into the 160s was during an untimed PT, and I'm starting to panic. Every other person I've seen talk about their progress has seemingly improved, sometimes in a shorter amount of time than I've been studying, so I'm really confused as to how improvement seems so much easier for everyone else. I even got a tutor, and I still haven't seen much change. How do I learn from my wrong answers, because every problem feels so situational? Can anyone please help :(
Hi! I'm still using the classic 7sage website before transitioning over to this newer one next year but the classic website is currently giving a 502 bad gateway error code when I try to access it. I just wanted to inform yall of the issue and see if it will be corrected!
I am trying to upgrade to plus on my phone but when I click the “subscribe” button nothing happens. Anyone else dealing with this?
The data is out! Our Admissions Predictor has gobbled up the freshly released data on 2025's LSAT and GPA medians.
Step on up, plug in your numbers, and see which schools you should consider targets, reaches, and safeties.
Some highlights from the new data:
Across the board, LSAT medians and GPA medians are up, as we predicted.
The average increase among T14 schools was less than lower-ranked schools. There's a sense that top schools have already have a glut of high-number candidates, and so are using increased application numbers to focus more on softs, like your work experience and application narrative.
Penn's LSAT median is a 173, up from a 172 last year.
Duke's increased from a 170 to a 171
Berkeley's GPA median increased from a 3.87 to a 3.92
UChicago has joined Yale, Stanford, Harvard, in the 174-median club.
WashU has clearly the highest medians, with a 175-3.96.
But remember that your numbers don't tell the whole story. In a competitive cycle, a strong narrative and strong essays are key. 7Sage Admissions has some great affordable resources for those looking to perfect their applications, from Essay Workshops with professional writers and Office Hours for strategy discussions with an admissions officer of your choice, to comprehensive consulting options. https://7sage.com/pricing/admissions
is anyone else experiencing this weird bug where when you search for a question, it doesn't pop up. Like for example on analytics or when you try to build a drill manually?
It started happening around 2 weeks ago and it's been really bothering me.
7Sage will be temporarily unavailable while we update our servers.
Eastern time: 5am Wednesday, December 17th
Pacific time: 2am Wednesday, December 17th
The site will be available again in two hours, hopefully less.
Please avoid doing a PrepTest or Problem Set near this time so that your work is not interrupted. Sorry for any inconvenience!
We recently removed Smart Drills from the dashboard if you have a study plan. (You can still see them if you don't have a study plan.)
Does anyone miss them?
