I just finished the principle reasoning section, and I'm wondering if I should go back and redo the lawgic lessons. I still find myself really struggling with the forms (and wanting to use them when I attempt to answer the questions). Has anyone had the same problem? Or has anyone gone back and redone the lessons?

BTW I plan to take the LSAT for the first time in April

How review LR and Plateau

Hello,

I have studying for couple months now but I'm not seeing any improvement with LR. The most I can answer in that section is until question 17th. My score have been constantly 8/17 and 11/17 after BR based on just what I answered. I believe my review hasn't been effective. I do have a wrong answer journal and redo questions sometimes. Sometimes I get them right and sometime I get them wrong again. How can I review LR effectively and improve? Any advice pleasseeeeeeeeeee

Hey 7Sagers,

Here's the official November 2023 LSAT Discussion Thread.

REMINDER: Under your Candidate Agreement, you may not discuss the details of any specific LSAT questions at any time. For the November 2023 LSAT, general discussion of what sections you had, or how difficult you found a given section, or speculation about which sections were scored or unscored, is prohibited until after 9pm ET, Tuesday, November 14th.

Posts that violate these rules will be taken down and may result in disciplinary action from LSAC. Let’s work together to ensure the test is fair to everyone, and not share information before everyone has taken the test.

Some examples of typical comments:

The following comments are okay 🙆‍♀️

  • the section on Cambodian woodworking really had me second guessing everything.
  • a few of the games had me confused but think I was okay.
  • overall fair test, struggled on a couple of RC passages (damn you polymorphic molecules) but think I was okay hoping for a -2 or -3
  • The following comments are over the line 🙅‍♂️

  • the passage on Cambodian woodworking didn’t count.
  • I had Cambodian woodworking, Fireflies, and rice farming in Iowa so Lithuanian Lithograph Libraries was experimental.
  • fair test but struggled on a couple RC passages (polymorphic molecules anyone? Thankfully it didn’t count). Don’t want to take again in June
  • Anyone know if Polygamist Societies in the 1880s was real or experimental?
  • Please tell me that polygon dice game didn’t count
  • Good luck to everyone taking the November 2023 LSAT!

**Please keep all discussions of the November 2023 LSAT here!**(/red)

Can someone let me if I did this question correctly? don't even know how to think normal anymore

This is a nasty question and I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if my approach was correct.

For a set of 50 sterilization equipment made of nylon, it requires 3.4x the energy it takes to manufacture.

For stainless steel it requires 2.1 the energy it takes to manufacture

If it requires 100 watts to manufacture nylon, it takes 340 to sterilize the 50 set

If it requires 100 watts manufacture SS, it takes 210 to sterilize a set of 50

A is wrong because it makes a mistake of trying to compare the two. If it takes 200 watts to manufacture SS, the it would require 410 for the set of 50.

B is deadly confusing. I took a nap and came back to it. If it takes 340 to sterilize a set of 50, the it takes 6.8 watts for each complete sterilization (340/50 = 6.8). If I'm still sticking with 100 watts as a requisite to manufacture my nylon instruments, with an s, there it no way it requires more energy for each complete sterilization that it requires to manufacture the nylon instruments, with an s.

    C. I don't even know why this is wrong. I was thinking this has to be false because the stimulus tells us it's 50.

    D. This could be true because either one could require more energy.

    E. Nobody mentioned cost. It felt good to call an answer "out of scope." Felt like I'm finally speaking LSAT language.

Can someone help me if my think on B is on track. Also, how do I eliminate C

    0

The correct choice was B, I selected D. I found this statement really difficult to understand and even my BR took a while to do so if anyone can offer helpful tips on how they approached this question that would be greatly appreciated.

My reason for selecting the answer choice I did was because I made an assumption in the archaeologist's argument, I also confused myself with the grammar inside the stimulus.

This is how I am now understanding the question:

Treasure Hunter: Because of the rule, treasure hunters are entitled to what they retrieve since they are risking their lives. Since the rule applies, the ship is in peril. This condition must be met for the rule to apply.

Archeologist: They are not entitled to what they retrieve, the shipwrecks are stablized, the only danger they are exposed to is that of previous archaeologists and therefore are not in peril (implicitly stated). They are not in peril because for the rule to be met this condition must also be met, in this case it is not.

What they disagree about is whether or not the ship is in peril (B)

TH says this rule can be applied to a sunken ship. Implicitly saying that it is still in peril

A says nothing about the rule and only speaks about whether the treasure hunters are actually entitled to the artifacts or not. But since they are not entitled to the artifacts, the ship is not in peril.

    (D) is incorrect because:

TH: agrees with the statement by saying even though they have sunk, treasure hunters are still entitled to what they discover because they risk their lives

A: Though they still risk their lives, they are only risking their lives because of other treasure hunters, not because the ship is in peril. But they make no mention about whether maritime law can be applied

This past weekend, I took the Nov LSAT (first time). I'm also planning to take the Jan LSAT but not sure what my study schedule should look like leading up to the test. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone. I have noticed significant improvement over the course of my studies with LG due to foolproofing, especially with my initial set ups, nailing inferences as well as my confidence!

However, I am still making stupid mistakes here and there on the actual questions, especially during timed practice.

Will more foolproofing help out or is that more relevant for finding inferences?

I assume I will get more accurate consistently by drilling, which I am currently doing, but any advice would be helpful!

    Hi!

So I had just finished my Nov test and luckily I am signed up for January, but I definitely felt that nasty feeling after finishing it. Now I’m super motivated to do way better for January! I’m looking for some buddies or accountability groups in DFW area (texas) who want to come together and help each other out for the next 2 months!!

    let me know!!

    confused

"INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY" in AC B is such a strong claim, I picked AC A bc the stimulus states that in previous decades the estimates are close to each other??

    Stress... Venting

I take my test on 11/8 & I find my anxiety consuming. I commented on a fellow 7sager trying to encourage them to not focus on the number. But oof... it's hard. I'm not going to even lie I envy the people who perform relatively well in the 160s range & think their score isn't good enough. I genuinely envy you guys. I also hate saying that. It sucks when you get back into the admissions cycle of anything because comparing yourself to others is detrimental, but that's also the entire point of admissions. I know those who are aiming for higher and also aiming for different schools and their goals may be different than mine, but it still just sucks to think about.

I'm not sure if anyone can relate. I'm really embarrassed about my score, but like I'm also not aiming for an Ivy either lol. Idk I'm sort of venting, but I feel like I don't see many of my middle of the pack people on here. So if you relate please join the discussion.

I'm trying to tell myself it'll be okay, but I put in so much damn work and to some I know they would think my # is terrible. LIKE I LITERALLY HAD A FRIEND CANCEL A SCORE I WISH I COULD GET! Good for them tho, they raised it on their next test, but still.

It's difficult for me to keep my insecurities & doubts in check, especially as someone who struggles to feel confident in my academic abilities. Even though I finished undergrad w Summa, I still sit here wondering and questioning if I schools will want me. It's so nerve-wracking. I just don't want to feel like I'm alone in this.

Hi, 7Sage, it's been a wonderful time having used your service, but I want to know what your opinion of adding written out answers to old LR questions is. I have been drilling the old questions, but I cannot help but notice that among the PTs before 16-17, the LR explanations are scant, with exceptions of video explanations. However, the problem with posting videos is that it just takes too much time to review the question: you have to find the explanation of the answer choice that you were curious about. It would be much better if videos plus written out answers are added. Thanks always, 7Sage!

    Hello!

I'm wondering, for those of you who have taken the latest PrepTest released by LSAC, #94, how you went about answering Question 8? I don't understand how the student can't take Geology and History in Semester 2? I'm probably messing up my Conditional Translations, and DeMorgan's Law somehow... Can someone help?

im taking the exam in person and when i went on lawhub and clicked lsat it said information on scheulding with a proctor has been sent to you, i just wanted to know if you guys see that also or i missed out on an email or something

So I have a pretty nasty sinus infection/cold. I'm kind of freaking out about how this is going to affect me on test day on Friday since I can't really focus through fatigue and my symptoms. I took the LSAT in September and REALLY didn't get the target score I wanted. I'm planning on submitting my applications in December but if I do as bad on this one too then my plans are kind of messy because I would consider taking the January one but applying in January seems like a bad idea from all that I've seen, so November kind of feels like my last shot. Any thoughts? Please?

    Hi there,

I have noticed that the questions I get wrong on RC are always the inference based ones. Anyone have any advice on how to improve on this particular question type?

    Thanks in advance!

    LSAC sucks.

I submitted my request for accommodations almost a month ago. LSAC's website says they'll get back to you within 8-10 business days but it may take longer... aka they can take however long they want. We all know best practice is to study and prep as close to how test day will be. But if I don't know if my request will be honored I can't prep. LSAC sucks. They don't gaf about accommodated students. They don't even respond to my emails.

    152 -> 171 Thanks 7Sage!

I began my LSAT journey last year and ended up deciding on a gap year after a few months of studying because I wasn't hitting close to my goal. Took a break till around May 2023 and enrolled back in 7sage with the goal of getting a 171+ by November! Thankful for this program as it was the majority of what I used over my time studying. I am enrolled in November (did it as a backup) so I will probably be retaking again just to see what happens now that the pressure is off.

Huge thanks to @RaphaelP for the help cleaning up my RC... his methodology brought me down to -3 on test day which was fortunately enough for my score. Highly recommend him as a tutor!

For those of you that have questions about the LSAT feel free to PM me or leave them here... I am a pretty active member of this discussion board and would love to answer any questions.
