Ex 2: Invalid, because we don’t know if she delivered the speech. All were told is that she can only deliver it if the assassination attempt fails, but maybe after the assassination attempt she decided to stay home instead of delivering the speech

If A then B

If B then C

If A happens, then B also happens

If B happens, then C happens

And because A was the cause of B, and B leads to C, then ultimately if A then C

@snydes11 Basically cause and effect.

If something is a cause, then it is sufficient to make the effect (necessary) happen since the rule is if A then B.

The then indicates that if A occurs then B MUST happen

Basically, the contrapositive is A cannot happen because B was not met since the only way A could happen is if B is met

Unlike conditionals, where A could still happen even if B wasn’t met, but just under some other scenario

Truth - Premises are true and conclusion is true (kinda like telling a story)

Validity - if premises are true, they are sufficient reason to come to whatever conclusion has been made (arguing)

4/5 - Missed the level 5 question. I guess misreading and not paying attention to words like “all”

C was my second choice, but it wasn’t the strongest argument against the passage

Eve has a newer car than Adam

Eve’s car is newer than Adam’s, but this doesn’t mean it’s objectively new. His car could be a 1998 and hers is a 2006 in the year 2026.

This makes the passage much easier to read and understand

Because [premise], therefore [conclusion].

Since [premise], therefore [conclusion]

Just as how [context/premise], therefore [conclusion]

I still don’t get why it’s not C.

One comment mentioned who made the argument vs the actions, and that it’s only looking at the actions. But the citizen is claiming that “they,” which I reasoned was the judge since his final premise for inconsistency was the judge not permitting the public to sit in on the case, were inconsistent.

But it wouldn’t be inconsistent by the judge or the single group if another group like the public encouraged the things he listed, because that’s not the judge’s doing

Hovered over D for 6 minutes, switched to A and submitted and it was correct. Good feeling, but I didn’t deserve it since I couldn’t justify why I chose A, but the explanation helped make sense of it

I was very shocked I got it correct. I wasn’t confident, but none of the other answers could be true.

A study showed that women from America cheat at significantly higher rates than men from America, so a common belief amongst those who’ve seen this study is that American women are more dishonest than American men. However, this can’t be true, because another study observing American women and American men has shown that both groups cheat at similar rates.

Most vegetarians only eat vegetables.

Anyone who eats only vegetables is healthy.

Therefore, most vegetarians are healthy.
