I still don't understand question 18
I have found that a lot of important words to highlight and keep in mind are words I'm not familiar with, therefore wouldn't understand the full grasp of the sentence to apply to my reasoning. How should I approach that?
From what I understand, most strongly supported answers are the ones that are most likely to be true based on the information provided in the stimulus. They aren’t guaranteed but are strongly backed by the details in the passage.
On the other hand, pseudo-sufficient assumptions are ones that might seem like they support the argument, but they don't actually ensure the argument's conclusion. They look like they do the job but aren’t truly necessary or sufficient on their own.
A Must Be True (MBT) question asks you to identify a statement that is guaranteed to be true based on the information provided in the argument or passage. You need to select the answer that must logically follow from the facts, premises, or details given in the stimulus.
Key Point: The correct answer must be supported by the premises in the stimulus. There cannot be any assumptions or guesses; it should be something that is always true based on what’s given.
I only got this right because I was matching the answer choice conclusions with the stim conclusion. A made the most sense. Not sure if that is the right way of doing things
I second this
Took longer but got it right
Was debating between A or B and chose B... this is my entire LSAT experience. Narrowing it down to two choice answers but picking the tempting answer over the right
I got this right then changed my mind doing br... GAH.
I'm so proud that I got this confidently correct. That hasn't happened for a few lessons now lol
Idk how we're going to make it tbh I'm exhausted
That was such an abstract way to write a sentence. The stimulus was not hard at all to understand but couldn't for the life of me figure out what the answer choices were saying. Just kept justifying most of the answers.
This is really helpful. Love this section
I agree. I was thinking this too.
Why should you consider other factors, such as the cost of the generator? In many LSAT questions, we’re taught not to overthink and to trust that all the information we need is provided in the stimulus. I didn’t think the cost of the generator was relevant because it seemed outside the bounds of where my focus should be
During the exam how can you tell if its necessary assumption question or PSA? They are stated somewhat similarly
I agree. I thinking the same thing for myself
Is it bad that I have been using POE this whole time..? just use Poe and look back at the breakdown of the stim. not sure if that's how I should be doing it
I'm in a streak of narrowing down to two answer choices and then picking the wrong one over the right one! I clearly am getting there just need to improve on choosing the right one in the end lol... AGH
I was debating between B and D and chose D GAH
I still don't understand why B is wrong.. Might be the wording that's getting to me but I don't see it considering the candidates who work already in the firm but those who do not. A has weird wording too
Replying to myself lol. I initially chose C but that's incorrect obv. because the stim supports a sufficient condition: if increasing the speed limit reduces accidents, then we should increase it. C is stating a necessary condition which would state, the speed limit needs to be effective (reduce accidents) for it to be considered. But that's not what the stim is stating.
I am clearly not understanding sufficient and necessary. I keep getting these types of questions wrong
I had a difficult time creating the lawgic for this stim
