Overheating Computer

My computer (15 in macbook pro - about 3 years old) fans every time I do certain things on the 7sage website (ie watch many videos in a row). I use google chrome.

I shut down my computer regularly, quit out of unnecessary tabs and applications (to the point that this website is the only thing open). Any suggestions? I purchased a stand for my laptop that has cooling fans, though sometimes my computer will still fan.

I feel like I'm getting burned by questions that don't use the exhaustive formal logic to solve them.

For example, PT 126 Section 3 Question 14 uses 'most' in a 'most strongly supported' context -- here, validity of invalid/valid argument forms involving 'most' are basically irrelevant, despite the fact that the curriculum exclusively focuses on 'most' in that context. The correct answer choice makes the stimulus more likely, but it doesn't prove validity.

This is a recurring problem across several PT's. For example, see PT 127, Section 2, Question 24. Just like before, pure formal translation and logic doesn't get you the answer. Additionally, see PT 127 Section 1 Question 25. Again, where simply doing 7sage's formal translations and logic doesn't get you the answer. PT 139 Section 1 Question 22 is another example where simply translating 'most' and looking for a 'lawgic' inference doesn't guarantee success. As an additional example, I would argue that in PT 120 Section 1 Question 24 trying to translate the 'most' 'lawgic' actually gets in your way than if you just focus on the other elements of the stimulus.

The curriculum doesn't even cover that there's sometimes a more easily understand application of the word 'most.' For example, PT 119 Section 3 Question 9 uses the phrase 'the most common response' to indicate 'the #1 response.' PT 138 Section 3 Question 4 also involves this verbiage; 'the most polluted cities' are used to indicate 'the top polluted cities.'

There are also questions that reference the word 'most' but in a very irrelevant kind of way (understanding 'most' has very little to do with the reasoning to get the answer right). For example, see PT 131 Section 3 Question 7. PT B Section 4 Question 18 involves the useage of the word 'most often,' and again, formal 7sage lawgic has no answer for how to deal with the application of 'most' in this kind of question..

There are also answer choices that involve your understanding of the application of 'most' with probabilities (and what they can and can't mean). For example, PT 133 Section 3 Question 21. Another example where you need to be confident in 'most''s limitations and strengths as a strengthener is evaluating answer choice D in PT 19 Section 2 Question 18.

PT 151 Section 2 Question 12 involves a very weak usage of the word 'most' to weaken a question.

TLDR: I feel like I don't have a grasp of the word 'most' when it is not used in a formal lawgic context on the LSAT. I find it hard to push out inferences for these questions, especially because the curriculum doesn't really teach 'most' outside of a 'lawgic' context. I added a TON of examples (from across 12 prep tests!) and there are many many more I didn't include. Any advice? Tips? Recommendations? Thoughts?

Hi. I am planning on taking the LSAT this June of 2025. I might retake the August 2025 LSAT exam if they offer it then. I am looking to start an LSAT study group in NYC. We can meet in person in Brooklyn or Manhattan or just do most of the work online by Zoom. I plan to take 1-2 tests each week and blind review them. I live in Brooklyn Heights. Contact me on here with your contact information. Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable LSAT tutors?

I have a Tier 1 LSAC fee waiver and have been struggling to find tutors who can give me a significant enough discount to where I could afford tutoring :,(

Honestly im looking for any reputable tutor who charges less than 200/hr

I've really been afraid of having a tutor because I feel like it often comes off as super stiff and formal. Glad to have been paired with someone SUPER invested in my success that I also completely vibed with. I'd def recc if you're looking for more personalized studying!!

Do you recommend getting the core curriculum foundation lessons down as much as possible before moving on to the lessons on logic and reading comprehension (as well as drills and PTs)? Sometimes I get nervous that I’m spending too much time on one foundation section. At the same time, I feel like it’s important and doesn’t make sense to continue with the core curriculum lessons if I don’t feel confident in a certain part of the foundation lessons. I just want to make sure that, although I'm spending time on foundational things I don't get yet, I'm not seeking perfection at those things either. I'm studying full time and only have 3 months, so I want to make sure I'm not spending too much time on foundations.

I know we always say practice practice practice and it will get easier, but I really struggle with reading efficiently on reading comp despite the practice. I am not a fast reader and it takes me a second longer to truly understand a sentence. If I do an untimed reading comp passage, I almost always get every answer correct..... but it will take me like 15-20 minutes. Then, when I do timed, I get almost 50% wrong. Help!! How do I read more efficiently on reading comp?

Letters of Recommendation

Hi y'all,

I'm just reaching out to ask if anyone can give me advice on my letters of recommendation. Is it important who the people are that are writing them for me? Is it beneficial to have people in prestigious positions write these letters for you? Should the letters all come from the same source (e.g., college)? Any advice would be great! Thank you so much!

Help im stuck!

Im stuck getting 160-162 on my past four practice tests, how do I break out of this range and into the mid-high 160s. I take one a week, and practice using the drills everyday in between. I am majorly plateauing and need a way out asap!

LSAT writing section

Should you study for the argumentative writing part? If anyone has completed it before any insight on what it is like? Is it a passage then you write an essay I am honestly not sure, I haven't looked into it because I have focused mainly on the LR and RC.

I'm going through the core curriculum and I got most of the drills from the W/S/E module wrong. it's crazy.

I feel very comfortable with the theory and strategy for this question type but when it comes to drilling, I miss so many of them! What is happening?

April 2025 LSAT

How soon do scheduling dates, times, and locations come out before your test? I am signed up for the April 2025 LSAT and have not gotten an email allowing me to schedule yet, I know it's still early, but I am wondering, for those who have already taken the test, when did you get an email allowing you to pick the date, time, and location of where you will be taking the test.

We're trying to figure out how to create default usernames on our new site. Do you want to be anonymous on the 7Sage forum, or in chat if we had it? Why or why not? Please take the poll and respond in the comments if you have more to say.

Just curious to know if anyone relies on the study schedule this prep course provides for them. Is that a good way to really get adjusted and familiar with the LSAT and get a good score or should I set up drills and go to live clsses there is just alot of resources in this prep I want to make sure Im using it correctly to where I will get a good score!

Hi! I am taking the Feb LSAT and would love love LOVEEEE a study buddy to meet with virtually outside my 9-5 pm (CST). I struggle with motivation after working all day but thrive off accountability with others. Thinking we could Zoom and go through questions together? I've found the best way to see if you really understand a question is talking about it with others. Thinking meeting 1-2 times a week. Currently Pting in mid-low 160s hoping to get to 170s but happy to study with ANYONE. Let me know if anything is interested.

Considering…

about how many times should one take the LSAT, even with much studying and preparation for the test, without achieving the score they want, before one considers doing something else with their life? Asking for a friend who is about really to give up. (not really)

Houston study group!

Hi!

I'm in Houston studying for the January LSAT, looking to see if there's anyone else studying that would like to meet up / create a study group?

If people are interested, maybe we can make a groupMe or something!

Whats up y'all,

Hoping to find a study buddy who lives in around the Seattle metro area or the West Coast who would want to study sometime at at night between 8 to 9 PM PST over Zoom.

For some context, I work 12+ hours a day, so this only allots me this hour to study. Feel free to message if interested! :)
