I am registered for the September LSAT and I scored a 171 (!!!!) on my first timed, proctored, new PT out of the curriculum (December 2008, PT 56). I realize consistency is key with this, so what are everyone's recommendations on how I should keep this going?

How might I obtain the LSAT Prep Test #43 by Tuesday? While there are a couple on Amazon, they all will arrive past Wednesday. I was hoping to purchase the test and have it arrive Tuesday... so I can join the BR group Wednesday evening.

Hi guys! Hope y'all had a great weekend! Just a really quick question for you guys.

So… JY's memory method didn't work for me at all-- I tried this a WHILE ago multiple times. Nicole's strategies, however, have been far more helpful to me. Now, do you guys think that these two methods are complementary? I feel like they are quite different…if not the opposite. I've been really confused. Oh yes, Mike Kim's RC tips do help too and his is more closely aligned with Nicole's. Like Mike's, Nicole's strategies don't require that we memorize the key components of the contents even though I do concur that both methods insist that we focus on the reasoning structure. Has anyone felt the same before? I'd like to know what y'all think about this. Thanks!

I am having hell of a hard time figuring this one out; I have 3 issues here:

If the press were not profit making the only alternative is subsidy and with it outside control

1)I was thinking: NOT profit making------> Subsidy and Outside control

but then I remembered "the only" is group 1 indicator and I changed my diagram to:

Subsidy and Outside control--------> NOT profit making

and of course this does not lead to the right answer choice...

2) what's up with that AND? which one is right?

Not Profit Making--------> Subsidy & outsideControl

or

NOT profit making--------> Subsidy--------> Outside control

and then link either with Subsidy -------->NOT honest Journalism

3) Am I making this harder that what it actually is? I keep diagraming LR questions...

hi,

I dont understand why E is wrong...it says the citys mayor requested so they invested in computermodeling technology right?

if the mayor was not a proponet they would not request it...I thought. any ideas? :(

Is it bc of the part *because of* ? so we dont know if its because of that reason mentioned in E...but could be other reasons?

thank you in advance.

I have had access to 7sage for pretty much a year now. I am writing the LSAT in September and decided I would take the Oxford Seminar LSAT prep course to get a little extra prep in. I still have a session tomorrow and I can honestly say, without a doubt, that it is a useless course compared 7sage. Like honestly, 7sage is far more superior in every single way. Just like J.Y says, they use convoluted names for questions and logic games which end up confusing people. They even discouraged splitting game boards initially!!!! The worst part is that they had us write a Practice test and IMMEDIATELY corrected the answers without a blind review. I actually ended up walking out and going home to BR. If people are thinking of doing condensed seminar courses like the Oxford Seminar, spend that money on upgrading your extension or version of 7sage. Seriously 7sage you the best LSAT prep out there. I may be a scum bag for doing this, but I suggested to all the other students that they purchase 7sage instead of continuing in the course.

Goodluck with your studies everyone and keep on grinding !!!

Hey Guys,

I've been trying to practice and grind on Sufficient Assumption questions. I know how mechanical these can be, but I have found out that I am having trouble translating the stimulus. Overall, I understand the lawgic and everything else, but it has been frustrating because I am having trouble at the first step and not even being able to utilize lawgic. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm considering purchasing add-ons. I discovered 7sage pretty late, and I'm already a year into my studies and will be taking the September 2016 test. I'm scoring in the mid to high 160s. I feel that I have a solid grasp of the concepts and I just want to iron out my wrinkles. I've already watched tons of 7sage LG videos on YouTube, read several prep books including the LSAT Trainer, and browsed a lot of forums.

That being said, I'm now working on the PTs in the 70s+. I'm hesitant to purchase 7sage's full packages because they're pricey and so I'm considering purchasing just the individual add-ons from 72 to 78.

- Am I allowed to purchase add ons without purchasing any of the main packages?

- If I do purchase just the add-ons, do I also get access to the basic tutorials (in case I need to reference some terminology in the individual explanation video)?

- Can I purchase one add-on at first, and then purchase the rest later if I feel that they're worth the money? Would this extend the duration in which I can view the add-ons or does my counter start over for the subsequent purchases?

Lastly, I'm interested to hear what everyone's thoughts are on the add-on explanations and whether you think they're worth it.

Thanks.

Hey guys just want to say I appreciate this community of 7sagers. It's encouraging to know we are all in this battle together. That being said to those who are consistently scoring in the high 165+ and 170s, what helped you break into that range? I am currently averaging between 161-165 and am BR'ing thoroughly. I noticed on some of my LR questions I second guess my gut instinct and my first choice ends up being right. I also have improved a lot in my LG section. RC has remained stagnant, where I only get about 70-75% right. Just trying to get some solid tips on how to get into that high 168-169 range. Appreciate it.

Hey folks,

I'm having a hard time with RC. I take way too long and the notes (words, circling, and underlining) I make on the passages almost never help me. Any strategies that have helped you improve would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all,

Is this allowed? haha I browse through people's threads and such and noticed that topics tend to get off-topic and cluster the OP's questions, comments, etc.. so I thought I would create this for everyone to just chat and connect. If there is one already sorry, please delete/let this die.

Anyways,

Hi all,

So I know "a few" is logically equivalent to "some" (more than 1), but for "few," can we say that it is logically equivalent to the opposite of "most"? An example would best show what I mean:

1. A few cats are blue. (Some cats are blue.)

2. Few cats are blue. (Most cats are NOT blue.)

Is this correct?

Thank you! Just a small nit picky logic thing that I keep forgetting to confirm.

I can't understand why answer choice 'B' is incorrect! Need some help!

The flaw of the argument is that it assumes there is no other reason that a child could have sleeping problems. Thus the conclusion that "removing the tonsils eliminates sleeping problems" rests on this assumption.

Answer choice 'E' is exactly that.

On second look however answer choice 'B' is exactly that as well.

The argument certainly relies on the assumption that there is (no other reason a child could have sleeping problems) than from the tonsils which is "tantamount to making the conclusion true." Answer choice 'B' even matches up 100% with my explanation!

What's more is that answer E and B when compared to each other support each other as well. Example:

"(B)relies on the assumption" that there "(E)is no other cause for sleeping problems during sleep"

Have looked all over but I can't find any explanation on this. Thanks for any help in advance.

I was just setting up my schedule for the academic year and realized that once I take out hours for lectures, studying, work, etc, I'll have roughly 10 h/week left for studying the LSAT.

I plan to take the LSAT in June 2017. Is spending 10 hours a week (plus a lot more during winter break) from September to June enough of a time commitment to ensure that I get a score that reflects my maximum potential?

I was thinking that I'd take one PT per week, do a thorough blind review, and then spend the rest of my allotted LSAT study time doing drills focusing on my weaknesses + reviewing parts of the Core Curriculum again whenever I need to. I've already read The LSAT Trainer and I'm going to be finished with the Core Curriculum in a couple of weeks, so I think I'll be in pretty good shape to start PTing by September.

Any advice will be very much appreciated!

Hi all! I have been studying for about two months now and initially had started out using the Powerscore Bibles but after about a month and a half I realized that their approach to the LSAT was just simply not for me nor was I a fan of their explanation methods but that's besides the point. Anyway, I purchased the 7sage course about two weeks ago and I love it! I certainly think that this is a much better approach for study and will complete the course with pretty high confidence that I will receive the score I want.

However, I believe I made the mistake of registering too early. I am currently registered to take the September LSAT and the deadline for postponing is August 30th and I am just not sure if I will be ready yet, or if I want to rush through the 7sage course to make myself ready by September. Before registration, I already had my mind up about taking it twice so I am definitely going to be taking it in December but do you think September is too early for me right now and that I should postpone? The only reason I am still contemplating postponing is that I don't want to only take the exam once (I have heard taking it twice is the way to go to ensure your maximum score) and I don't want to push back my second time taking it to February because I think February is too late. Overall, I am simply not sure what I should do. Any advice?

I'm curious as to whether or not it is worth investing in a desk/study space in my home.

Wondering where you guys study for the LSAT? At home? or do you go to a library?

Also, if you study at home, how is your study space set up?
