Recent LSAT score is 154. Breakdown is LG 12, LR 15, LR 15, RC 20.

I am struggling with LG and LR a bit. My goal is to hit 160 by december. Can anyone help me out? I am 75% done with the 7sage course. How should I plan the remainder of my studies? Should I start taking two prep test per week?

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm shooting for Feb or June 2014. (Ideal timing for my life right now would be an April exam, sheesh.) I'll make that call at the beginning of Jan (obviously by Jan 7, 2014). If I go through all the material and "use up" my PTs as if I were writing in Feb, but then do not register, am I hampering myself for June? What level of studying (hours per week) is typically needed to keep the high-scoring momentum going?

I've wrestled with nervousness/anxiety in the past and do not want to feel excessive time pressure. (Yes, I realize the irony of what I just said. I do understand that "managing time stress" (both acute and chronic) is a necessary skill that the LSAT and law school both test. I'm just trying to find my most effective pressure sweet spot here people!)

If, by January, I realize that I will not write Feb, would it be better to preserve unseen PTs by re-doing old ones until April/May? Is there such a thing as stretching your studying out over too many months?

Prior to the LSAT I've never really considered why A causes B. I'm very unsure of my definition of a causal relationship and would like to put it out there for everyone to critique.

A causes B if and only if

1. B occurs whenever A occurs (A -> B)

2. B does not occur if A does not occur (B -> A)

3. A occurs temporally before B

For example, say we know that toxin T is strongly correlated with fish dying in large numbers. Say we also know that in the absence of toxin T, fish populations are always high. Lastly, we know that toxin T is always released prior to any die off of fish. Can we conclude toxin T _causes_ the decrease in fish populations?

I'm using the PT grader at this website and find it useful. I sometimes take only a section or retake PTs to drill.

Can it be used to grade only a section of PT or retakes of a PT? thanks.

Hey all,

I have signed up for the december lsat but I'm not sure if I should reschedule it. I have been scoring very low on my PT. I am scoring in the low 140s. Would it be a miracle to score in the mid 150s by december? Should I reschedule for a later date? Any comments or suggestions on this

A bunch of ppl on toplawschool just started to talk about keeping your mind LSAT-sharp just in case October score goes bad. But i know the gist is not to retake unless you actually see a solid improvement, right? But how do you gauge yourself? Based on PT? I've taken the LSAT twice already so I guess scores of most of my PTs for the second (October) LSAT doesn't count. I did have three fresh PTs including PT 69 done during September/October and scored 165-161-167(PT 69) so I'm kinda clueless about what kind score is my "normal“ range...

any thoughts?

My June LSAT was right on the median for the schools I want to get into but my GPA is pretty low so I wanted to do the October LSAT to increase my chances. A week before the October LSAT I found out I qualify for the 'mature' category for many of the law schools I was applying to which would put my June score from the median to significantly better than the suggested median and my GPA right where it should be. In essence, there was no real need to write the October LSAT. But since it was too late to get a refund, I had studied for months already, I didn't think my score would go down since all but 1 of the 15 PT's I had done since June had been higher than my June score, and the schools I was applying to use the highest score, I figured, what the heck let's just do the October LSAT. Turns out that wasn't the best idea as I'm pretty sure I did worse than my June score.

I completely messed up LG, which is normally my best section, and all the other sections seemed harder for me than usual. I didn't cancel my score because all the law schools I'm applying to say they are taking my highest score but now I'm thinking it will look bad even if they don't officially count it. My question is, how bad will it actually look? The law schools I'm applying to are in Ontario Canada if that makes a difference . . .

I see controls in the lower left corner to change the video playback speed, but clicking on them does nothing. The buttons appear in Chrome, but not in Firefox (on Windows 7). I'm using the most recent version of flash. Are we supposed to be able to adjust the playback speed? I would really like to be able to use this feature.

When I take PTs, I tend to lose concentration after first 2 sections, or sometimes just right after few questions on the 1st section. I found myself keep reading the premise over and over without actually understanding it. Or my mind wonders restlessly. I have never considered myself someone who has a concentration problem, but I do these days. As an international student whose dominant language is not English, I have to focus 100% on the test in order to understand, but these days, I am finding it so hard to do so, and it is extremely frustrating and stressful. Is there any one who is experiencing or experienced same thing or anyone who can help me resolve this? Thank you in advance.

I want to get started on my applications although I am still studying for the December 2013 LSAT. I hope that someone here can answer my question because I have seen such helpful, nice responses to other questions.

I already took the LSAT once last year and did poorly, and I will be taking it again in December. As we all know it's better to submit earlier rather than later. When should I submit applications? Should I do it ASAP even before December scores come out in January, say in December? But I'm worried that schools will overlook the part where I check off to wait for a pending score, because I have heard of people who were rejected right off the bat because the school did not wait for the later score. Or should I submit right when the score comes out? I already have my transcript and CAS in, which helps.

I feel like this must be a common situation for many people, yet I get conflicting answers from everyone! Thanks so much for any insight.

Hey people,

Wanted to get some advice on whether or not it's helpful to re-do the PTs that you have already done once...?

It obv cannot accurately measure what you are scoring, but it must be helpful in some way?

Any advice / feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Sujin

Hello,

I've just realised that when I first wrote the LSAT (June 2012), I took PT52 to PT60 to "prepare." This was before I discovered 7sage and I used the "betting method" to check over my answers.

Do you think it will be a disadvantage, if I redo the tests? I have the Premium version of the course, so there are some test that I have never seen before, though there aren't a LOT of new ones... and I did them over a year ago. I have a good memory, but it's not that good, lol.

Thoughts?

I need a bit of help on this one, I am currently working on my MBA and studying for the December LSAT (a bit obvious but I thought I would just make it clear). I am enrolled in the Basic class and considering the Ultimate one, however given that I have less than two months would this make sense? I do not work AT ALL, I am just preparing for the LSAT and working on my MBA. I can devote the full 40+ hours per week to the LSAT if necessary. I could take the Premium but I really want to be as prepared as possible. This is my second and (better be) last attempt. I don't want to waste the money if I won't see enough of a return, however that being said even a few points of difference can make or break an application. Thoughts?

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone was interested in a Study Buddy in the East Coast (Skype/Google hangouts fine) stuyding for the Dec.2013 exam? I'm in the Philly region and was going to try to do the PT50s this month and the 60s next month -- and looking for people who were willing to discuss questions missed on the weekdays say 9pm-11pm EST, weekends whenever. I'm thinking of doing PT 51 on Thursday.

Thanks

Hello!

I noticed there aren't very many discussions about that answers to older tests from the late 90s, like from prep tests 19-28. I was using these older ones to practice and saving the more recent ones to use as dress rehearsals for the big day under actual testing conditions.

Is this actually a good strategy, or are these tests so old that I can't rely on them any more? I realize they don't have comparative reading, but other than that, are the games and LR sections still good sources of practice?

Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble with the LR sections. I can't seem to get a proper hold of when to diagram or when not to, and it usually ends with me taking the trap answers.

I've walked through the 7sage LR guides, but I am not quite sure how to tackle these problems effectively. Does 7sage or does anyone know a drill or another place where I could look.

Thanks in advance.
