Hello! Does anyone know when you can start signing up for a session for the June LSAT? I'm also curious when the sessions typically are (days of the week, time of day, etc). Thanks!

One of the "rules" that I have learned from Ellen Cassidy's loophole and just general LR practice is that we should be extremely weary of answer choices that say we "should" do something. For this specific question, I immediately picked D because it was very intuitive, but then I changed it and picked B which seems more positive than normative. My concern here is that no one said anything about what we "should" do, but rather what simply is. If the stimulus said something along the lines of "As it is our goal to improve the economy then........" I would have definitely not changed my answer. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi 7Sagers,

I am contemplating taking on a new review strategy that I have yet to see others suggest. During our BR, JY suggests that we review and intensively critique our answers for questions that we are not 100% confident in. I think I may take this a step further. I am considering opening a word document beside my answers and writing out why that answer is justified. I think this would FORCE me to review these questions in-depth, rather than idly passing by questions just so I can see my results.

Any ideas on how to refine this or create a separate strategy with similar intentions would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: This is regarding PT4 S1 Q12 (LR question). I didn't realize that the "discuss" button makes a forum post.

I picked E because it was the only answer that made sense.

However, I don't see how it can be properly inferred from the passage. It's heavily implied, but it's not always true.

Basically, you can consider a situation where Leachate does not leak from a landfill because the landfill was not permeated by water, and thus leachate was never formed. Independently, the same landfill could exceed it's capacity to hold liquids. Maybe it's a landfill on Venus which is overflowing with molten iron, but there was no water present in the landfill to make Leachate in the first place. I realize that this is not something you can practically infer, but it does provide a logical exception to choice E and the LSAT is about finding the answer choice that has no logical exceptions.

Basically:

  • Leachate escaping a landfill is sufficient to say that the landfill's ability to hold liquids is exceeded because of the IFF statement

  • The landfill's ability to hold liquids NOT being exceeded is sufficient to say that Leachate did not escape the landfill.

    • I wouldn't really be worried about missing this question - eventually I would settle on E as the only choice that could possibly make sense. But this question could be a huge time sink re-reading all of the other answer choices because you're positive you missed something and I'm not really sure how to avoid it.

    I think my issue is that the question doesn't establish that leachate exists in all landfills, and that choice E makes a statement about all landfills, not just landfills that contain Leachate.

    Am I crazy?

    Hey folks,

    I know that because of burnout, a lot of people advise you take a break. So I did, which was great! I took a week off, and I really feel like I cleared my headspace, feel less anxious, and re-found my reason for wanting to go to law school in the first place. But I've been studying again for about three weeks, and my scores have regressed. I'm not sure what else to do. I want to take the June test, but I'm still at my 160s hump.

    How do you get over this? What have you found to be most useful?

    I am currently 14 weeks away from exam week. I would like suggestions on how to proceed. I haven't done Logical Reasoning in a long time in following the study schedule and completing reading comprehension passages, so i am unsure as to wether i should spend this week reviewing a bit. I have had practice in logic games as i follow a plan of reviewing 15 games or so a week. I want to be as successful as possible so i am leaning to the 7sage community for assistance please.

    Hi All - I am signed up for the August LSAT and came across a few questions that I am hoping you guys can help answer:

  • The test is August 14, however I am told it can be anytime the week of August 14. Does anyone know when they will email us for our actual test date/time? And is it guaranteed to fall on the weekend?

  • Are we allowed physical scratch paper and a pencil/pen on the LSAT Flex for notes?

  • For those debating to do the October LSAT too, are you signing up now?

    Hey everyone I’m here to just say, don’t give up.

    Four years ago I started my journey to law school with a 2.8 GPA and an extremely low starting LSAT score. After obsession over the test, and with the tremendous help of 7Sage and its community, I was able to score a 171.

    Yesterday, I graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and was awarded the Wigmore Key Student award.

    Your past mistakes DO NOT DEFINE YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS. Anyone is capable of being right where I am.

    So if things are hard right now, if the dream seems to far out of reach, just keep going. You will all achieve your goals. Work hard, study harder. Rely on 7Sage and the community here.

    Hi everyone! I've been consistently taking about 2-3 PTs a week for the past month and at first I was hitting 170s but now I am regressing...my most recent score was a 164... Does anyone have any advice to get me out of this slump?? I'm taking the LSAT in June ;-;

    I plan to take the August LSAT and am looking for highly-motivated people to work with over the coming months to accomplish our goals around the test.

    Having been a part of an LSAT study group before, I've identified a lot of things that work and don't work.

    Here is my plan:

    LSAT Study Group Community:

    • Set up group chat (preferably using Discord)

    • Create channels for relevant topics/subjects

    o 1. General

    o 2. Logical Reasoning

    o 3. Logic Games

    o 4. Reading Comprehension

    o 5. Study Partners

    o 6. Random

    Study Schedule:

    • Establish study group schedule (2x/week around 1-2 hrs)

    o Study session over Zoom

    o Covers one section of an LSAT practice exam

    o LSAT section channels (e.g., Logic Games) can be used to ask questions at random during days when we don't meet - great opportunity to work with people one-on-one or in a small group setting!

    Can the correct answer to a main conclusion question be something that was never explicitly stated in the stimulus? For example, if the stimulus says that we must reduce the gov deficit and in order to do so we must either reduce spending or increase taxes, and then goes on to say that for political reasons we can't reduce taxes, can the correct answer be that we must reduce spending? My concern here is that even though it was not explicitly stated in the stimulus, it is pretty much the conclusion of the argument.

    So I'd taken the April LSAT and scored a 166 - it was higher than I'd gotten on PTs [late 70s and the entirety of the 80s] on which I'd been averaging 164-165. But the issue is that my average has dropped to 161 on the three recent tests I've taken, which are from the 60s series.

    Should I go back to tests in the 70s to see if there's a change in pattern that benefited me, or is 161 a reflection of my level at the moment?

    I am 30% into 7Sage Core Curriculum. I also purchased the LSAT Trainer by Kim and Loophole by Cassidy. I also have a PDF of Cambridge LSAT. Do you think these materials are enough to prepare for the LSAT? Should I additionally purchase PowerScore Bible series?

    Hello! I am currently stuck on the 155 mark and has been hard for me to get anything higher. Do you guys think it is possible to raise my score by at least 5 points in the course of a month? What techniques or resources have people found helpful in being able to achieve this sort of score raise? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Feeling extremely disheartened in recent days; I always seem to either completely screw up or make silly mistakes on RC/LG. No idea how to break out of this because something or the other always crops up to bring down my score.
