Hi - does anyone know how updated the 7Sage Predictor is / how accurate it is?

I'm not asking for precision, e.g. whether it gets 20% predictions correct 20% of the time, but more of the relative trade-offs. I scored 3 pts lower on the October 2020 exam than my average, but it looks like if I take the January 2021 exam and apply in February 2021, hitting my average LSAT score is balanced out by applying later.

Are scores out?

Did anybody else get an email from LSAC that the score preview for their october lsat is available, but there is no score posted on the website? So confused right now

Closed for now - will update as I figure out if I can handle more people. If you came in after the comment I posted below, I will be in contact if I can free up some more time.

Hey all! Am looking to tutor 1-2 people at no cost. Would like them to have:

  • scored in the high 150s to low 160s
  • finished the CC
  • While those aren't hard rules, I believe that if you have yet to break into the high 150's, you would be better served by focusing on the CC and drilling games. No expert, but I think sub-160 scores indicate the need for work on foundational concepts, and it's hard to beat what you already have here on this site... I definitely can't teach it better than that.

  • I've been on 7sage since January 2020, and have also done KA, Trainer, Loophole, and the Powerscore Bibles.
  • My last 10 PTs are 168, 169, 166, 171, 171, 169, 167, 168, 174, 172 (average 170), and I have done multiple flex administrations.
  • No experience tutoring this test, but I do have significant experience in military & law enforcement training roles, and have been a public school sub-teacher for about a year.
  • Background is in Psychology/Sociology... non-trad... guy... been through one application cycle... dunno if any of that that matters.
  • I am in Hawaii (UTC -10) and would typically be most available Monday and Friday morning to early afternoon... so like mid-day to evening if you are CONUS.
  • I can focus on any area of the test. Particularly interested in hitting difficult LR.
  • I benefited a lot from just a few lessons with a couple tutors here, and would like to help someone else while hopefully refining my own approach to this test. If interested, hit me up and we can discuss. Obviously fit is important, so I want to make sure what I can offer will help you (and by extension help me!). Will maintain this post with pertinent updates.

Edit 10/22/20 1019Z: Thanks for all the responses! Wasn't expecting that much traffic after just 30 minutes. Posted a temporary cutoff comment below so I can be sure to get back to everyone.

Edit 10/22/20 1043Z: Everyone should have comms from me. Will update once I get a feel for my capacity. Would love to work with as many people as I can handle!

    Hi 7sagers!

Due to popular demand, I'm hosting another free tutoring session! This time on Reading Comprehension. It will be this Saturday 10/24 at 7pm EDT. If you're interested, please comment below!

I have gone through the CC twice, taken over 90% of the PTs out there, and am currently scoring in the low 170s. My diagnostic was a 138. I've struggled immensely with this test, and I can show you how I overcame these obstacles.

In this session, we'll cover topics on:

  • How to read a passage
  • How RC is different from LR
  • Why improving RC seems hard, but is very achievable.
  • (This session is more focused on students who are struggling with understanding the passages. We will have another session discussing the questions another time)
  • We will be using passages from the free diagnostic LSAT test provided on the LSAC website. This session will be helpful for students that recently completed the RC core curriculum, or are in the PT phase of their studies and is struggling with RC.

If this session goes well, I'd be open to hosting more free sessions! Please let me know what topics you'd like to discuss at a future session in the poll below. See you there!

A few things I want to mention so we can all get the most out of this session:

Please refrain from looking at the correct answer choices when we are going through problems. It is to your benefit to be unaware so you can learn!

Please make sure your microphone is on mute during the session, unless you are the person volunteering to help answer a question.

I will be asking for volunteers throughout the session. If you would like to volunteer, please type it in the chat box.

The session will last around two hours.

If you learned something helpful, all I ask for payment is that you share the knowledge with others that could be struggling. After all, we rise by lifting others up.

Let me know if ya'll have any questions. Hope to see you there!

I was so ready to have my score today but I just did the writing this past week (I know, dumb) and it seems like they have a backlog for approving writing samples and it could be a long time till I have the score! Does anyone have any info or idea how long it might be? My writing status says results pending. To make things worse I feel like I might've slipped up and not shown both sides of my scratch paper in the room scan! Am I doomed to do the writing over again? Is it gonna be weeks without my score?! I am probably needlessly stressed but I was so hoping to have my score today!!!

Hey everyone! I am looking for some awesome strategies on improving timing for LG. I noticed that most of the time, I can do LG to complete perfection in blind review or when I practice untimed (bad habit, I know). But during timed conditions, I ALWAYS run out of time from spending too much time up front on the first game. The only thing that has made somewhat of a difference thus far is doing all of the "if" questions first and then going back and doing the other questions that don't present new info. So if anyone has any time-saving tips I would be forever grateful!!!

Hey everyone! I just checked my admission ticket and it is blank on the testing center and states LSAT FLEX on the testing center assigned. I know I specifically chose a center closest to home so I was wondering why it is blank and if this will update once the admission ticket becomes available to us. Thanks everyone!

Hey guys I took the October LSAT flex and took the writing section yesterday. I figured my score wouldnt be ready today but i checked anyways and on my LSAT writing page it says the exam was "initiated" but i finished it and hit submit so I'm a little confused. Does that means I took it and I'm awaiting confirmation of approval? How would I know if it gets flagged. Will I get an email?

    Hi All!

Looking to find a study buddy or group (the more the merrier) that would be open to working together and helping each other out towards doing as well as possible on this January's LSAT. I'm currently about half way through the 'Sufficient Assumption & Pseudo Sufficient Assumption Questions' section and am starting to struggle a bit for the first time in this course. Would love to set up maybe a group me, google doc, and maybe hold weekly video chats to really get the most out of this program and help one another make it as immersive as possible. Let me know if your interested/ have ideas to add! Thanks in advance!

    Best of luck,

    Sal

    Hi Everyone,

So I took the August LSAT and did well, well enough to reach the top 75% in my target schools. Then I took the October LSAT and had the DREADED 4th game in the LG section that was UNBELIEVABLY hard which I think contributed to my lower score in October. Logic Games are usually my best section. My score dropped 6 points in October. Should I write an addendum for this drop or does it not matter?

Hi - One of my letter of rec writers requested to see my personal statement. They asked back in September and I said I would have it by mid-Oct. Now I still don't have it written yet or even a draft. I'm not sure what to tell them, but I also need to cram for the Nov LSAT so I don't think I could get it together soon enough.

Has anyone else been in this position/have a suggestion on what to send them? I was thinking like maybe send potential bullets of what I want my application to round out to? idk

So I'm taking the November LSAT and my score had slowly been increasing with each PT and I was scoring in the low 160s and starting to climb even higher, I took a PT yesterday and out of nowhere I got a 154, I bombed the LR and RC hard and with the test so close I'm kinda freaking out, idk if I should cancel my test or just ignore this PT or what. Any advice?

I have to share this, I’ve been back and forth with this LSAT for a long time. I just need to share that I have siblings that are lawyers and I can tell you that they have no time for living. I’ve become more aware of it lately. I’d highly recommend that everyone considering becoming a lawyer really look into the profession and the time that it will take from your life. I have decided today after really noticing and seeing the time, effort, dedication, and family sacrifice it takes to be a successful attorney that it’s not the profession for me. It just “clicked” today. You have to know what your getting yourself into. Thanks for reading, just my two cents.

    Hey fellow LSATers,

I'm scheduled to take the test in January, and started studying the first week of October. I average about 2 hours during the weekdays and 8 total on the weekends (~20hrs per week). It's a schedule I've been able to stick to really well.

Its tough to balance studying and working full-time. Has anyone done something similar/have any tips? At this point I have kind of accepted I'll have to re-take the test again with more rigorous studying, but I want to give the January one my best possible.

    Appreciate any help!

    Command F

I have read that you are able to use command F on the exam. First, is this true. And second, does it help, or have they designed questions around this on the newer flex tests (if you have taken one)? #help

I see that LSAC has put up the dates that the November LSAT will be administered with them being

    Saturday, November 7, 2020

    Sunday, November 8, 2020

    Tuesday, November 10, 2020

    Wednesday, November 11, 2020

I was wondering if they sent out an email for people to register for that specific date. Im registered for the LSAT however I haven't received any information since I registered.

I separated from the Air Force about three years ago prior to the birth of my third child. Since then, I have been a full time student and stay-at-home-mom. Should I address this in a resume addendum? There will be an almost four-year gap in my work history at the time of my application, and though I was a student during this time, should I let them know why I did not work or volunteer much from early 2018 to early 2021? To add an addendum, or not to add an addendum? That is the question.

    Hello everyone!

I hope prepping for your admission essays are going well. I have come across an essay in which I need to answer a hypothetical scenario regarding plagiarism in a colleague. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to tackle these.

    Thank you!
