Just wondering if anybody could explain this sufficient assumption question (PT 15 S3 Q18)

I requested accommodations for the October LSAT and I am pretty certain I will get approved for 50% additional time. I'm wondering if I should do 50% additional time on practice sets and PTs, or if it would be beneficial to try to do it within the regular amount of time so when it comes time to do the actual test it will feel somewhat easier with the extra time?
Hello 7sagers,
I am a graduating senior this Fall 2020 and I wanted to ask how you guys are able to balance a rigorous workload (school, work, etc..) and study for the LSAT as well. I've been able to study consistently these past couple of weeks because of summer classes being pretty lax, but as the school year picks up its going to become more difficult. I'm a little anxious because of how the semester might be, so I'm reaching out for advice. I have a couple of questions down below you can answer, but if you have any other advice you can offer don't hesitate to drop a comment! Thanks for all your help and I appreciate it in advance.
What were ways you used to relieve stress?
What were some metrics you used to measure your growth?
How do you maintain a healthy work - life balance?
I loved that book as an overall guide and as a resource for RC and LR (my strengths) but I have not found its method (skill > memorization) to work for me in LG. I'm consistently running out of time by the third game and sometimes don't even make it to the third. Anyone been in my shoes?
I started with 7Sage like two days ago because I'm desperate to improve my LG and have started doing the 'fool proof' method of just repeating the same games or game sections over and over. Not sure if this will work but I'm giving it a whirl. I signed up for the August LSAT flex and have about two weeks left. My best PT is 161 and my goal is ~168.
Need advice on best ways to improve Logic Games!
How long does it generally takes to get through most of the core curriculum until the point that you are doing strictly practice tests ? I do mean in such a way that you are actively learning and not attempting a speed run ! Obviously everyone learns at different speeds and has different schedules ! So feel free to ball park it or give a rough estimate.
I am just trying to figure out how much time I have to realistically learn before my test.
Thanks, and as always you rock !
Has anyone received confirmation from LSAC that it is okay to use the search function (Ctrl-F) during the test? Also even if LSAC approves it, would it be any potential miscommunication with the Proctor U staff during the test day?
Hello, I was just wondering where the option is to buy a couple tests here on 7sage? I only have access to the low 70's right now as I am only an Ultimate member. I remember seeing an option for it a couple months back, but maybe things have changed now? Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi guys,
I know this is a boring and impossible-to-guess question, but I can't stop worrying about it 😂. Does anyone have any idea? I'll probably call a representative sometime this week
Is there a way to make the 7sage lsat reading comp section more like the real thing? I read somewhere that when words are referenced in line numbers, they are automatically highlighted in the digital LSAT so we don’t have to search for them. Is this true & is there a way to do it with the 7sage LSAT?
Hi,
Majority, if not all, of my misses on LR come from the backend of the section: 17-25. Does anyone have any advice to get over this hump?
I was considering getting my personal statement/supplemental essays edited and found EssayEdge. Has anyone worked with them before, and what was you experience like?
Hello!!
I am looking for a study buddy!!
Does anyone know if I need to schedule the LSAT writing sample or if I can take it at any time through the link on my account?
Does anyone have any good examples of LR questions (from PTs 1-35 / 36-46 / 72-82...lol) which deploy some complex causation logic and or use some implicit assumption that is a central part of the argument.
An example of the latter type of question would be a question I recently did (can't remember the PT) where scientists claimed that, "If there was extraterrestrial life 50 million lightyears away then they would be able to contact us. Ergo, there is not extraterrestrial life 50 million lightyears away" [The implicit assumption being that we have not been contacted by extraterrestrials (lol)].
Another example is Disease X causes increased levels of serotonin. Serotonin is correlated with high-blood pressure. Therefore taking a bill which reduces serotonin levels might be able to reduce high-blood pressure [The implicit assumption being that serotonin actually CAUSES high blood pressure].
Questions can be any "type" (flaw/strengthen/weaken/etc.) really would just love to see more of these.
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I'm consistently seeing a gap between my actual and BR scores on the prep tests, where my actual scores are in the mid 160s and my BRs are mid-high 170s. This is usually driven by my RC and LR sections - I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for bridging this gap?
I'm taking the August LSAT so looking for anything I can do that could help me improve my score in two weeks. Any tips would be helpful, thanks all!
My diagnostic score was a 153. I plan to take the LSAT in January which gives me roughly 6 months. I plan to study 1-2 hours every day 5 days a week and take 1 PT a week starting mid October. Is it possible to hit 168? My lowest by far was RC. I haven't delved into the course content yet on it because im doing logic games. Should I be working on that right now since I started studying or is it ok if I do LR and LG and then move to RC?
Lately I’ve been trying to predict the rough scope/main idea of each paragraph and I’ve been having a super hard time. I know that it’s because I haven’t done it enough, and that only practice and time can bridge the gap. That being said, I was wondering how many of you actually predict the main idea/scope of each paragraph (besides the intro of course). And if some of you don’t do it, have you had much success without it?
Hey everyone! I was wondering what you guys are doing about misc games for the LSAT flex? I'm not sure how much time I should spend on fool proofing them... would love some opinions/how you guys are approaching this! I don't want to waste my time on these if there's a very small chance of them appearing but I also don't want to be caught off guard. And worst case scenario, there won't be more than on misc game at a time right?
I'm confused as to whether or not I need to submit my transcript from when I studied abroad in Canada. It was only a 5-week 6 credit program. At least one school I'm looking at has indicated they require a transcript from "all institutions attended." Does this include study abroad generally?
Additionally, if it does, the school only sends hard copies and the transcripts are in French. Anyone have experience with similar situations?
I need help, LR in the 80's absolutely destroying me. I have gone from averaging -4 to -8 and I really don't know what to do. cn anybody help
I’m taking my third and final wack at the LSAT on Nov 14, 2020. I am happy with my current score but I still think I am capable of scoring a few points higher.
It seems that the earliest the Nov 14 score would come out is early/mid December. I anticipate to have all of my application materials FULLY ready to be sent by then (literally will be sending the day I get my score). My schools range from T-14s to T40s. I feel like I get lost in the rabbit hole of advice urging you to apply as early as possible (how early?! How late is too late?! November? December? so many questions), especially for competitive schools, so I’d love to hear different perspectives.
Some bg: I have a bachelors in neuroscience (3.78) and masters in neuroscience (3.87). Aiming for high 160s.
Hello,
Has anyone experienced PT fluctuations from high to low? I have gone from 160, to 155 to 159. Need some help! Thank you!
Can anyone help me with translating this statement into a conditional?
"The purpose of art is to cause experts to debate ideas"
JY (and the world) translated it as: "cause debate" --> "purpose of art"
I translated this as: "purpose of art" --> "cause debate"
My rationale was from experience with translating "is" statements: i.e, cows are cool = cows --> cool; the meaning of life is 42 = the meaning of life --> 42
I understand context matters, but here I thought context still allowed me to read the statement as purpose of art is [X], therefore purpose of art --> X. If my reasoning error is misreading the context, then what parts of the stim leads you to read it as X --> purpose of art? If my reasoning error is logical, please point out my oversight!
