Hi everyone,
I just received my LSAT score from the January 2020 administration and am feeling quite disappointed. I was hoping to apply for Fall 2020 admission, but I don't think I will get into many mid-tiered schools, let alone receive scholarships to go. It's also near the end of the cycle so I am aware that there are fewer seats left to fill.
Here is a breakdown of the scores I've received so far:
Jan 2020 - 153
Dec 2019 - 152
Jul 2018 - 150
Dec 2017 - 147
Jun 2017 - 146
My first 2 times taking the LSAT were "just to see how I would do". For the first test, I went in cold turkey with no preparation. For the second one, I had watched lesson videos through Blueprint's online course but didn't take any practice tests. Upon reflection now, I should have canceled those scores, but now they are on my score report and there's nothing I can do. I took the next 3 exams with about 12-15 hours/week of drilling questions. To date, I have taken no more than 10 practice exams. I have completely underestimated the amount of preparation, namely taking practice exams, that it would take to score at least in the low 160s (although my goal is at least 165). My fear is that I've seen too many LSAT questions and don't have much new study material to take practice tests with. Not sure how to effectively study from this point to get a significant score increase. I also don't know if the strategies or logic skills I've learned are wrong and need correcting. It's just frustrating that the score bump-ups I've gotten are no more than 1-2 points. I guess it's good that I haven't done worse?
I received a 3.7 undergraduate GPA from a #2 public U.S. university and I have a strong resume with a few years of relevant work experience and community involvement. However, knowing that the LSAT score is the most significant factor for getting into a T20 school, I'm thinking about applying for the Fall 2021 cycle instead.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you :)
Got my results back today and underperformed where I was PT’ing
So thinking of making a last minute virtual study group for those done with the CC and taking the March exam.
Let me know if interested!!
Hey everyone!
I am fairly new to 7Sage and LSAT studying would love to get in touch with some people who are also less advanced in LSAT studies. I find in study groups most members have already completed the CC and other materials.
PM me!
Does anyone know when registration will open for the June/ July / August / September 2020 LSAT dates? Will registration open for those dates on the same day, or in a cascading order?
Sorry if this administrative-kind of question has been answered elsewhere! I haven't been able to find it online.
I find when Im doing games, when I actually just understand the rules I go -0 or -1 at the most. But hammering out games these past few days ive run into rules in which I now realize I think i need to make a mental note or itll just screw up the entire section. Is there a way to get around this? Right when they give us scratch paper am i allowed to write these notes down literally just to keep a mental check? For example,
PT 44 game 3 arch sites the rules were "this is from a more recent century than this" and i totally misunderstood and thought 8th century was more recent than 9th century lol so i misdiagrammed the entire game and couldnt figure it out till the questions
OR when a game says which is a complete and accurate list
vs
a complete and accurate list "any of which" can be x
or when a game says "how many spaces seperate" i need to remember to just count the spaces in between x and y and not including x and y
Should i just literally remember this going into the section or what? I think its worth it to spend like 10 seconds remembering these basic rules to not rush, just so i make sure I dont screw up the entire section...
I got 7Sage about a year ago when they didn't have the timed feature layout that they have now. So before I used to do all the problem sets of each section in the curriculum in the PDF condition for as long as it took me.
I started 7Sage again about a month ago and now they have this timed condition layout for each of the problem sets.
So should I be doing the problem sets under the LSAT timed conditions (6:40 mins per 5 questions), or is it just as fine if I do it at my own pace?
Should I be taking prep tests, or at least working timed sections from prep tests, while I learn the core curriculum? Or should I learn all of the core curriculum first, then just begin to take a ton of full, timed prep tests? Looking to take the test in June, so I should have CC done by mid march, giving me almost 3 months to just focus on prep tests and blind review.
Hello everyone,
So I applied Early Decision Round 2 to UPenn and was put on the waitlist. In the email response from the university they say that they recommend submitting any additional information such as an updated resume, an additional 2 page essay on a topic of your choice, and any additional letters of rec. My question is regarding the additional essay, are they looking for a LOCI? Or are they looking for an additional essay, something similar to a personal statement, in addition to a LOCI? If so, what are some good ideas for the extra essay? Any topics I should try and focus on or some that I should stray away from?
Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated!

Where do I go to get help with logical reasoning questions? I understand individual elements of lawgic, but when combined I fail to get answers correct. For example, when I do the groups 1-4 quizzes, I get all of them right, but when I do all of them on one quiz I get them wrong. Another example, when I have symbols to manipulate for any strategy with logical reasoning I'm fine, but when I'm given words to translate into symbols, I just get lost in the words because the examples in the lessons are easy, but the quiz questions are significantly more convoluted. I have left comments, but I only got one response so far so I would like to try a help session or a tutoring session. I am searching through where to find help now, but if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be helpful. Thank you.
Hello,
Anyone in the LA area planning to take June 2020 test, and would like to study in a group?
In the flaw section of LR, I have a hard time understanding the common argument flaw of sufficiency-necessity confusion, as JY calls it. I never seem to recognize a flaw argument that is committing the sufficiency-necessity confusion flaw.
Due to this, can anybody show me an example of an argument that is committing this flaw and explain to me how it constitutes a sufficiency-necessity confusion? Thanks.
Thank you for opening this~
I'm registered for the Feb 22 exam so I am trying to be at max. efficiency level with my studying LOOL.
I was struggling with RC for the longest time but after EXTENSIVE review I think it's finally clicking with me.
My score per PT now depends on how I do on GAMES. I really want to get to that -0 / -2 (max) level by test day.
I only miss more than 2-3 on games that are a little "untraditional" (for example, PT 80 game 4). When I hit game 4 on PT 80, I stayed calm and tried to use intuition to push thru.. but got stuck... big time.
Do you all have any tips on how to improve on these kinds of games? Also, if you know any PTs with funky games please let me know!
To all my fellow February takers.. we got this!
Hi everyone! What is the most effective study method for long study periods for you? If you study for 5 or 6-hour stretches, for example, do you take a break every hour? I tried the Pomodoro method, which entails studying for 45 mins and then taking a 15 minute break, but that didn't work too well for me because I wasn't disciplined enough to follow through on it. Do you study and then take breaks as needed? Thanks
Is there a standard for having a visible clock in every center? I just use the clock here with the app, no watch.
I am struggling to get more than 17 right on LR consistently. I reviewed all the LR curriculum but I'm still unable to break the 17 right during timed sections. I have noticed a few trends. During timed LR I am usually getting the first 10 correct in about ~12 minutes. I usually run out of time and don't get to 3-4 questions so I blind guess on these. Of the 3-4 it's very unlikely that I get one of them right by chance. During BR I am usually able to get 3-4 correct out of the 3-4 I skipped.
My BR is usually around ~20-21 and ideally I would be scoring as close to ~21 as humanly possible! Any advice?
Also, I'm practicing from tests 1-20 right now out of paranoia. I do not want to "waste" the good/more recent exams. Is this legit reasoning or is it smart to "save" the more recent exams for full practice test practicing purposes?
I was wondering when the video explanations will be up for the November 2019 LSAT
Is it worth it to apply to a regional school in Mid March or just wait 7 more months to apply with the same scores/gpa and application at the beginning of the cycle? For the regional schools I want to apply to I am 1-3 points under the LSAT 25th percentile and right at the GPA 25th percentile for the schools.
At the moment I want to apply at as many schools as possible to have a lot of options but I feel rushed with the incoming deadlines and I am worried that I am doing my self a disservice with my app numbers (LSAT and GPA) by applying this late and I realistically might only have the chance to apply to max 3 schools this cycle as opposed to the planned 6. Regardless, I have my LOR's ready, resume ready, I am currently on my second draft of my PS and still crafting my diversity statement/adenda/optional essays.
Is it realistic to think that if i apply as early as possible I might get a better shot at $$$ and a chance a getting into schools that would probably reject me If i applied late mid march?
What should I do?

Hello! For those who have taken the test before, how did you feel about the experimental section? Did it throw you off at all, or maybe did you feel more drained because of the extra section? I just want to know if I should expect a bit of score fluctuation due to the extra section.
Thank you for your time!
I wanted to share a weird phenomenon that happened after the Nov test. I walked out thinking I over-performed and when scores came out I found I scored 5 points lower than my average PT at the time. I thought "Wow, this must have been a fluke. I'm usually at 160, how did I get a 155? I've never tested that low in 6 months."
So here comes the weird part: I took the LR sections again, and scored the exact same. I missed the exact same number of questions on both of the LR sections, albeit some of the questions I got right the first time I got wrong the second take and vice-versa. I was on the cusp on blowing off the uncharacteristically low Nov score due to "nerves" or something nebulous that would make me feel good :D but it turns out I was probably just not as good as I thought I was.
Going back now and BR'ing the test months after I am seeing a lot of the errors I made clearly and I think "How did I do that!?" This is encouraging because I can see how far I've come from just November until now.
Weird stuff happens, wanted to share, hope people can take away something from my experience!! Happy LSAT'ing.
I cannot locate where the Googlesheet of rankings is on here - help please!
Good Morning. I am currently studying for the March LSAT and want to know if anyone has any advice on how to divvy up the study time designated to each section. I tried dedicating a set amount of time to studying one section. For example, I would spend a week on LG, and although my LG score would increase, my LR score would decrease. I assuming this is a result of me neglecting the section for a week. Has anyone else experienced this problem and have found remedies that will help? any advice would be amazing! Thanks!
Hi everyone! Does anyone know if you can submit the writing sample after an application deadline has passed? Or does it have to be submitted with or prior to? Thanks!
