After learning that the September LSAT is the last score you can submit for early decision, I am now contemplating whether I should hunker down, achieve my fullest potential score and apply for next cycle. I am scoring in the 160s while BR is 173-180. It pains me to see such a big gap every time between actual and BR scores. I am taking the September test and will do my absolute best on it, however, I'm afraid it might not reflect my best potential score (which I understand to be the BR scores).

The reason I am hesitating on waiting to apply next cycle is TIME. I had my heart set on starting school next fall, graduating, start working and then think about starting a family with my husband. All of this would be pushed back a year, and I've come to realize how valuable time really is. I am in my mid-20s and have work experience in journalism. I also need to get scholarships and my goal from the beginning of my LSAT journey has always been a full ride.

With all that said, should I wait and apply next winter? Should I apply for regular admissions this cycle with my September score? Sign up for November?

The weight of my future feels especially heavy this morning. Any input will be greatly appreciated :)

Hello, thanks for all the people at a great community in 7Sage and J.Y., I recently broke 170 for the first time.

I was really surprised because I've been constantly scoring in the range of 163 and 166.

I might have been just very lucky although I hope it was not.

However, whatever I do, my blind review score does not go above 173 and I am wondering if it is possible to improve my BR score and how anybody succeeded in doing so if it is possible. I am feeling like 173 is the max score I can get and although I would be very happy with that score, I am just hoping that I can score better on the PTs because I usually tend to score worse on the PTs than in real exams due to anxiety and etc. I tried reviewing all question in LR and RC sections regardless of whether the questions were circled or not, but I still got 173.

Thank you so much in advance for all your help!

Format Edited by Admin #HELP My goal for the LSAT is to score in the 160 range. Honestly just anything above 160. Currently I have not seen much improvement on my practice exams. I am worried that my self-studying has not been effective thus far as I was only using the powerscore bibles up until this point. With less than a month left until the September test date (that I am currently registered for) I am wondering if I should postpone my exam until November. What would everyone suggest? I AM FREAKING OUT!

Hey all,

i've been realizing I get around 2-3 wrong per section in LR that are due to overconfidence errors.

i usually kinda go through these questions quite fast/think they're relatively easier.

When I see I got them wrong during review, I realize that it's often a common trap AC that I've just been easily duped for. This may happen because there's an attractive trap AC that is right in all areas except the scope is wrong.

Or if it's a NA question, I'd pick the SA answer rather than the NA answer.

Overall, I can kinda live with getting 5 star curve breaker questions wrong.

But getting these relatively easier/medium difficulty questions as overconfidence errors is a real pain in the butt.

Any advice on overcoming and preventing overconfidence errors in LR?

I've seen a lot of advice on ppl addressing under confidence errors -- by being more reckless, aggressive, etc. But I haven't seen too much on addressing overconfidence errors.

Hey there. I'm starting with PTs in 4 days. I have 50 days till the test and I can only take about 20-25 tests if I take a test every second day. I'm confident it's doable. Thoughts? CANNOT postpone. Tell me the numbers of some of the toughest PTs you've taken. Thanks !

LR questions

Most of the time when I review JY's videos for the LR questions I get wrong I completely understand the right answer. Its like I get smacked in the head - I mean, duh, the right answer is so obvious. Rarely do I review a wrong answer that I don't understand and it makes me wonder why I can't see it when I'm first doing the question. My guess is that I'm at fault with these:

  • I'm rushing through the question and not reading the stimulus as critically as I should.
  • Not identifying the conclusion and premises of an argument.
  • Not thoroughly reading each answer choice to properly choose the correct one.
  • Is there anything else that I'm missing?

    hey all,

so i've been struggling with overconfidence errors in RC. I average about -5/-6 timed RC, and -2 for BR.

Of the -5/-6 timed, 3 of them are overconfidence errors

those errors are usually where i pick one answer choice, and am pretty sure, and sometimes don't read the other answer choices.

other times it's that i get tricked by a trap AC.

    any one have any advice??

it's always tough to balance timing with accuracy with RC, as well as to find that sweet spot of not being overconfident but also not being under confident. should i more intentional in trying to eliminate wrong AC's for more questions?

any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. thank you!

So, every time I enter my ACs into 7sage for a given PT, I put my left hand on the number keys and FLY through it without looking. This skills is, without a doubt, Guitar Hero muscle memory resurfacing after 10 years. I wonder what a PT would sound like mapped out on a fretboard...

Has anyone else had this thought?? Just thought it was funny and wanted to share.

Hey 7Sagers! I took the July administration as my third take, and scored a 166. I was PT-ing around 170 before the test, so I think I may have a decent chance of scoring at least a 169 in my next take, which would be November. I was wondering what is the better strategy: applying early (September) with a 166/3.4 GPA or re-taking in November and potentially scoring a 169, but then applying later in the cycle (early December when scores come out). My goal is to land at least a T-14, but more than happy to go to T-20 with scholly money. I am not a URM but a female Pakistani immigrant working in immigration law. Any advice is appreciated!

    Hey guys,

    I just upgraded to 7sage ultimate+.

It unlocked a bunch of questions for the LR and I just began doing logic games more specifically I’m on sequencing games with a twist.

At what point should I be doing timed sections and how should I review LR while I move on to logic games and reading comp?

    Thanks.

Hi is there anyone who is certain of the answer to this question -

when reapplying to the same school that you didn't get into the first time, can you submit the same letters of references and personal statement, if the only issue was your lsat score so you're reapplying with better score and that's it? I've been out of school a long time and LOR's were really hard to come by

Alright guys so I used to be good at flaw questions and now I have realized after taking my last PT I lost my edge. Does anyone have suggestions? I am planning on review the different flaw types but does anyone have something that matches the different flaw types with the answers that have actually show up on the LSAT? This really killed my score on the last PT...

Hello, this is for anyone who knows about accommodated testing. I am scheduled to take the test in September and I just found out that my test is on September 11 instead of the 8th. I spoke with the test center supervisor and she said they have to spread out the tests for different accommodations which is understandable. My question is will I be taking a different test than everyone else? I asked the supervisor and she said she doesn't know any details about the test. I thought about contacting LSAC but it's really not that big of a deal, I am just curious. I didn't anticipate taking it on a different day so I just want to know if I should also expect to take an alternative test. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm applying for the upcoming cycle and I'm concerned with when I should apply.

There are some application websites that explicitly state that it's better if I apply as early as possible.

I was initially planning to apply between late September-early October.

But I'm starting to wonder if I should aim for early September.

Do you think this could make a difference on my admission results?

Hi everyone! I’m curious to know if someone has ideas about what it means when you get unsolicited fee waivers or unsolicited “Greetings from x school” emails from T14/T3 schools after taking the LSAT. I’ve heard some people say it’s a good thing, some people say these schools want to bait you into applying so they can reject you and raise their ranking, and some people say you can’t read into it at all (which I don’t believe because they have to set parameters around who gets these emails and who doesn’t). Anyone have knowledge on this?

Like the title states, I'm looking to buy 5-section PTs, specifically PT 76 onward. I know Amazon sells packets that are 4-section PTs, but is there somewhere to buy the full official 5-section ones?

    Thanks for the help.
