Hey everybody!

I had this idea for RC that I wanted to run by the community and get some input. After all is said and done, the gist of the RC is to actively read so that after every sentence, you are constantly building a puzzle and applying it back on the previously read sentences. At the end of the day, it isn't so simple to keep all that new info neatly filed away in your brain. A powerful tool that is missing here is review. The thing about reviewing is that you need downtime in between the material studied and the actual review for your brain to settle. Just skimming over the selection real quick after the initial read won't do it. So I was thinking, what if you read all four paragraphs in succession and then return to the first selection, skimming it in about two minutes and then doing the questions on it and continuing for the rest of the selections? I have tried it twice. Both times I finished by the skin of my teeth (not much improvement from doing the questions right after an initial read). However, I answered most questions more confidently and quickly than before although my overall score didn't improve much. Has anybody been doing it this way? I figured I could improve in this strategy but I'm still not convinced it is the best way.

I'm having a hard time brainstorming assumptions for SA, PSA, weaken and strengthen questions. Sometimes when I draw out the premises and conclusion and look for the missing assumption, I end up with something that's either not in the AC. It's been interfering with how well I can do on these questions. I've practiced quite a lot, but does anyone have any tips on how to be smart about working on this? Thanks!

Does anyone have a "cheat sheet" for how to approach different question types? ex. main point is to find conclusion then look for answer. same idea but for all the different question types

Just curious about something. When you record yourself, do you keep the video footage after? I record everything in excel spreadsheets for all sections so I'm wondering if it's worth keeping the files since footage of one PT is around 20 gigs. I'm aware I could move it to external harddrive but do people actually rewatch old footage?

I had taken the Princeton review course last fall in preparation for the December 2017 exam , which I found to be the least helpful and disappointingly scored a 147. I took it again in February and got the same score. Has anyone been in a similar situation and have any tips/ suggestions on how they improved?

i take the lsat in September, I am scoring around 157 in practice testing, what are the chances of scoring in the mid 160's in 1 more month. I study about 10 hours a week and am planing on pushing that to15-20 for this last month. My GPA is currently a 3.83 and really want to get into UC Berkeley. Given this, would any of you recommend changing my test date to November?

I'm sure it varies from person to person. I ask because I'll be able to get through about 30 PTs before I take the March 2019 LSAT and am curious if I would be cheating myself by not doing more

I am wondering whether I should be drilling games by using the Powerscore logic games bible because I did buy it before, or whether I should just continue taking PTs? If I get games wrong, then I can see what I got wrong and try to watch the videos on it? What's the best idea because I am taking the test in September?

Hi guys, just a quick question. When I'm drilling for logic games (doing timed sections in the bundle), is it a big deal not to be able to get it on the first try? I find untimed, I can do them really well (accuracy wise) but I only struggle with timing. Once I watch some of the videos or even attempt the set again I am able to do much better. The reason I'm asking is because obviously you only get one chance on test day so I just wanted to see the general opinion on this topic is

I go from -0 to -5 on the hardest passages, independent of subject matter. I literally have no idea why any of these variations happen. I can usually BR them -0 or -1. Ugh help me.

Applying this September and faced with the choice of EDying to CLS or not.

I would like to hear your thoughts on (1) whether ED to CLS is worth the cost of revoking opportunity for HYS and (2) if there is a ED 'bump'.

Here's my background:

I'm a URM (Hispanic); top undergrad university 3,82 gpa; I speak several languages including Mandarin and Spanish; work experience in federal gov't and in law. Great LORs.

My December LSAT is 162 – but i'm retaking in Sep because that was 10 point below my median lsat score. I'm confident that I can score in the 96-8%'tile this September.

Of course HYS would be great, but if I'm pragmatic about admissions (eg. i'm below median LSAT and GPA) I think I have a exceedingly low chance of getting in. The next best thing is CLS, and I'm above their 75 percentile for GPA. So to boost whatever chance I have for CLS, I am seriously considering EDying this fall.

Is this smart? What are my chances at CLS? Anything that I'm not considering?

The other school I'm considering are Chicago, NYU and Berk. But I would prefer CLS to them and think I have a decent shot.

This is probably a silly question but...

When I go to click on the"PT X-- all sections printable" button on any given PT I get a gray screen. I'm using Google Chrome on my Mac, and have allowed Flash player to run on 7Sage. However, each time I click on the "all sections printable" button, I get a notification saying that Flash was blocked (even though I've allowed it). I think I cannot see the PT and/or print because of something with Flash. Is there anyone who has experienced this and could possibly provide some insight?

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has had experiences with LSAT tutoring. How many tutoring hours did you purchase? Did you have any issues with learning different strategies (from what 7Sage teaches)? What about materials? Did you have to purchase additional materials that your tutor preferred?

I really wish 7Sage offered this service (unless they do and I I've totally missed it).

I was looking down at the later weeks on my study schedule and it shows to take about 4 PTs a week. How would you guys recommend going about this with BR and the Q bank? Should I do a PT every other day and do the BR and Q bank, for Qs that I need more practice with, on the other days?

so i've heard of some ppl who do this but just wanted to get everyone's broader feedback. i know many ppl disagree with looking at the questions first before reading the RC passage.

but how is this strategy?

first briefly scan the questions, see which questions have specific line references, and then go back to the passage and just note (draw a star/squiggly or something) next to those line references.

then read the passage, but when you come across a part of the passage that you previously noted (and that will be tested on a question), read that part a little bit more carefully/intentionally.

that way you'll be a little more prepared when you see that question after you finish reading the passage.

what do ppl think of this strategy? and advice or thoughts? thanks.

Does anybody have any thoughts on how the move by the Trump Admin to outlaw diversity considerations in undergraduate and graduate admissions is going to play out? It seems like a step backwards for sure. I wonder if the law school adcomms will just keep going on as they are now or if it is going to really change the way things are done??

I usually do very poor on science passages. I think this is due to my fear of the unfamiliar subject matter. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good book that I can read in order to overcome this fear?

Or are there any books that you recommend that has helped you improve your reading skills for the LSAT in general?

Does anyone have a specific way of dealing with these problems. I swear I almost consistently get them wrong time after time despite understanding that the answer is in the passage. I don't know what I'm specifically doing wrong but I suppose I must be falling for a trap answer or something like that. This occurs with any question that asks to explain the purpose of a specific word or phrase. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

I took the LSAT in June 2018 and I did not like my score so I am retaking it in November. Does anybody have any self study tips?

I needed some advice on reading speed for RC.

From my understanding, RC and LG are similar in the manner that if you spend the time upfront, you won't have to look back at the passage (time sinks) when you are doing your questions. Although I am in my early crawling stages of studying - I have noticed to really get the passage down well (meaning: understand it well, used JY's memorization technique, passage annotations, etc.), it takes me between 5-6 mins to do that.

In a real test - this would make me only do 2-3 passages approximately in a given RC section. I know JY and other pro test takers have mentioned your benchmark for reading/breaking down the passage should be 4 minutes and under. Since I am pretty off from this LOL - any recommendations on how I can improve to meet this standard? Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, how did you deal with it?
