Did anyone else feel sick doing it? Lol I felt like I was going to mess something up, or like I mixed up which documents went to which schools. What if I missed a small mistake?

I kinda wanna go back to my safe place of studying for the LSAT...

Hi 7Sagers,

I'm looking for an accountability partner, 2 max, in a similar scoring range as me.

I got a 161 on the December LSAT, but have been PTing in the high 160s and low 170s. I will be retaking in Feb.

My main goal is to drill every day and PTing around twice a week in order to improve timing and confidence. I'm interested in finding someone who is also making an effort to drill everyday. We don't have to drill the same stuff or even work on the same PTs, I'm just looking for someone to touch base with everyday to hold me accountable for daily drilling. Also, it's nice to have someone to gripe about the admissions process with.

Comment your scoring/LSAT situation if you're interested in getting in touch!

Hey guys, I am debating whether I should write a diversity statement or not. I am already writing about a socio-economic challenge that I overcame in my socio-economic addendum and I don’t really have a topic to write for my diversity statement aside from the fact that my family was dirt poor but we still moved around the world in search of a better place to live and so I got to live in different cultures and learned to adapt. Is that a good enough topic? Because I don’t see how that could contribute to the classroom discussions. Maybe I just don’t know enough of what they want

I'm currently looking at a logic game question and one of the following constraints stated: "If J is included in the tour, it must be visited third." My question is: Does the "must" guarantee the J to be 3rd on the tour or does the "if" rule determines the J to be optional?

0

Hey guys,

I think a lot of you will read this and think "why the hell is she posting about this" because it's not really something that has to do with actual logic game skills but,

I seem to have a persistent problem with misreading instructions in the logic games. Not the conditional instructions - those are covered by our lessons. I mean re-reading actual words the wrong way.

For example, on Preptest 44, one of the games is about 5 different archaeological sites, all of which were discovered by different people in different centuries. The options are the 8th, 9th, and 10th centuries.

One of the rules says "the site discovered 3rd is from a more recent century than the sites discovered 1st or 4th."

My brain somehow managed to read this as "the site discovered 3rd is older than the sites discovered 1st or 4th."

I messed up the rule during a timed practice test and then, shockingly, I messed it up again during BLIND REVIEW. This is how bad this tendency is. I don't have any kind of reading learning disability that might lead me to swap words in my head.

I'm just kind of at my wits end because this is not the first time this has happened to me. In fact it seems to happen a lot, and I usually don't realize it until I've diagrammed everything and then I have to start over, losing precious time.

Has this happened to anyone? Can you recommend any good techniques that will help me stop doing this?

Hello All,

So I was doing a hard LR question, PT35.S1.Q17, and I wanted to know if someone could help contextualize answer choice C with an example of something that exhibits this flaw? The flaw confuses the establishment that an event occurred with the establishment of the cause of that event.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best wishes,

Kristen

Sent out my law school apps last week and I knoww/have been told 100 times to not constantly review the completed applications. I do however think Ive made a slight error on the start date of my undergraduate institution. The years are correct but I put the wrong month. The month isnt even off by much which is why I feel silly for even asking. The difference would literally be a few days because I had actually started the month prior to the one listed but at the very end of that month. Am I freaking out for nothing or does something have to be done about this? When I was working on my applications that month was just automatically there so I thought it was a CAS thing and that date was accurate

Hey all - I go back and forth on how I will realistically study and get my school work done when I start law school. I have a 7 and 4 year old and sometimes the "guilty mom" feelings creep in. My husband is supportive and said he would help out so long as we cut our budget since I won't be working during school. I just wonder, that even with his help, how much quality time will I really be spending with my kids? Going to school would mean very little to no after-school activities - at least for a little while. Guilt. It may mean someone else doing their homework with them and not me. Guilt. I want to go to law school so bad but is it worth it at the expense of my kids?? The guilt! This sucks.

So, I was wondering how the other moms and dads are doing it or will do it. Any advice or motivation are really appreciated.

Hello, guys. Need help on this one please. I’ve gotten myself all turned around on this one. E was a contender but I went with D because I saw the question as an argument by analogy. According to the webinar we should introduce an area of key dissimilarity between the two phenomena so I went with D. Am I wrong that D is even introducing a key dissimilarity? E seemed super obvious but I still chose D because of the aforementioned. Also, the explanations I’ve read say that the author is saying there was trade between Europe and East Asia. I didn’t see it that way. I thought the author was just saying just because there’s no written record that doesn’t prove there was no trade. I guess I can’t really understand this one as well because the explanations all say the AC strengthen the author’s conclusion that there was trade between the two.

Hi all,

So i've been studying since about September 2017 and I am continuously averaging about -10 on LR. LR is seriously my kryptonite :( and many times I feel that this will never change. I decided to push my test back to June 2018, in hopes that I can hopefully reach a -3 on LR or better (hopefully). Would love to hear any feedback on how I can better my chances and finally reach my goal. Happy studying :)

Does anyone have any tips for Reading Comprehension problems that state "Which one of the following most accurately describes the contents of this passage?" For example, Prep Test 29, October 1999, Section II, Problem 5, I am struggling with distinguishing which answer is correct when it gives various organization examples... Why answer "A" versus the rest. I know Prep Test 29 is an older one so if anyone has a newer preptest and wants to use that as an example, it would be much appreciated! Thank you.

Hey everyone,

I stumbled across 7Sage after it was mentioned in an LSAT curriculum I've been using. I've since been using the free trial and have been really impressed with the techniques and sense of community. Consequently, I've been flirting with upgrading to the Ultimate grade in order to continue developing my skills. At the same time, I've been looking at some other online courses that offer one-on-one guidance, which I suspect would be helpful in terms of accountability to make sure that my score continues to increase (currently, I'm usually scoring around 163-166 on my PTs). I've been studying for the LSAT since November, and I'm hoping to break the 170 threshold on the June test.

While I wouldn't consider myself to be lazy or a procrastinator, I know from when I completed my undergrad that I always excel in settings where camaraderie pushes me to be better. All that beings said, do people have some thoughts on whether they have found the 7Sage curriculum/community to push them to be consistent in their prep?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I know it's kinda early to ask about admission stuff as a sophomore but I am really concerned about my GPA. My school (Wesleyan U in Middletown, CT) has a terrible policy of using 94% as the bar between A and A-minus; thanks to this policy I got a straight A-minus for this semester and I fear that this trend will continue given the general deflation at my school. Moreover, since I am aiming for law schools in Canada (U of T, Osgoode Hall, and Ottawa), I have the feeling that they do not know much about the deflation thing going on at Wesleyan. What should I do? How can I inform these schools about the situation at my school?

Hi all, I've seen some conflicting information on this topic and have read that trends are changing, so I wanted to hear what people think about the current climate: is early January very late to apply to the T--14? As in, does it hurt your chances for admissions and scholarships significantly. I know that this time used to be considered late. Any links or reporting from specific schools' adcoms would be greatly appreciated!

I’m framing this shit, omg. I’ve been studying since April and COULD NOT for the life of me get LR to anything below -6. I cried. I cancelled exams. I questioned my entire existence. But it finally happened.

For everyone struggling with LR right now, you can do it ! I took a step back and stopped thinking about learning each question type individually and looked more at what I was reading for each and every time.In one month, it’s made all the difference. This exam is all about the subtleties and it’s like a whole new world when that finally starts clicking.

Thank you to everyone whose helped me get here. I feel so ready for Feb and excited to finally put this exam to rest.

Hi all, after taking in some words of advice from the 7sagers I have decided to take my fourth LSAT (yikes), knowing that my previous scores were far below my potential and that it would be a waste not take advantage of my relatively high GPA that I really worked hard for in college.

Now that I've made the hard decision, I'm a little lost as to how I should go about studying... If my PTs were around 173-174 but actual score 166, I believe that some of my fundamentals were shaky, but since my 7sage materials have all expired (happily thinking that my December would be my last LSAT ever), I'm not sure where I should turn to. I'm also not sure how I should approach PTs because I've pretty much seen all the PTs at least once, and am scared that just a more thorough BR would be insufficient to guarantee a higher score on my next exam. I've skimmed through my past BR notes/scrapbook to see where I was lacking when I went into the December exam, but I can't really get a good sense of my specific weaknesses (other than, being weak in NA/flaw questions, conditional arguments in general)... I'm so lost as to where I should begin...

Anyone have some words of wisdom for me?! :(

LR Help

I improved my LSAT score from the September test to the December test by 4 points. I am now taking the February test to try and improve my chances of better scholarships and a few schools median score are only a few points away. I have reviewed my test from December and I missed the same type of questions as I did last time. The break down of the questions missed are as follows:

Assumption- 9

Strengthen- 4

MBT- 3

Parallel- 4 (Honestly, I didn't try on these questions because I see them as time eaters)

Flaw- 3

Paradox- 1

I am wondering what I am missing with the assumption questions. I struggled during my prep before this test. I just could not understand how to answer the questions.

Also, does anyone believe I am making a mistake to take the test again?

Hey yall, im back!!

Just wanna make sure im understanding AC E

[E] says that: "an increase in demand for consumer product is compatible with an increase in demand for a competing product."

Here goes my thought process:

Since the price for domestic wine dropped, people started buying tons of it and it was sold out. Since there was no domestic wine left, people started buying the imported wine, this lead to an increase in sales of imported wine. Thoughts?

So I'm a bit confused by this section of Cornell's application. No one influenced me to apply to Cornell (except secretly Andy from the office...) but it is a mandatory part of the application with a little * and all.

Now I'm pretty sure all I have to do is write something like: N/A or Not applicable here.

What I'm stuck on is if I should maybe write more about my decision to apply to the school here instead? This sounds wrong, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.
