Yes waiting would be a great idea! Wait to schedule your test until you are consistently scoring the way you want to on test day, on your PT's. Worst case you can always wait a cycle and prep all your essays to be one of the first applicants next fall. -

I didn't start PTing until after I finished the curriculum, saw a 14 point jump on first PT compared to diagnostic. I'd suggest finishing the curriculum before jumping into PTs, otherwise you may be wasting good PT material.
