Putting the finishing touches on some application components before sending them all in Feb 1 and would love some eyes on my work from people who don't know me. Would also be down to do personal statement edits as a swap for my Yale 250/resume, if that's what you want looked at!
P.S. My Yale 250 is about being part of the LGBTQ+ community so only looking to swap with people who y'know.... aren't homophobic LOL

I'm purposely not including a lot of details since I am actively trying to revive this application with the target school!
Long story short, after a brief email discussion with target school's admissions office to go ahead and apply through LSAC even though late, I still missed the (late) deadline by a few minutes. (Full disclosure: I acknowledge that the lateness was totally my fault.)
The next day, the same admissions office who just a day before said go ahead and submit it quickly, came back with, "Unfortunately...." when I asked if I could submit a copy of the app via email instead. (I have a complete copy of the fully downloaded application from LSAC.)
Another higher ranked school has already processed my late app, and another one, though I didn't receive an acknowledgment email from them, already requested the CAS report from LSAC, so I believe they are in the process of review. However, those are not the target schools.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Or even if you don't have experience, can you please help me with ideas about how to negotiate the target school back into accepting my late app?
Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!
Good Afternoon,
I wanted to reach out to any fellow 7sagers in the community about exchanging personal statements for the Yale Personal Statement Essay. I am applying next year but want to complete my personal statements in a timely manner so that later in the future after reading the final piece I can decide whether it something that truly resembles my character and aspirations. If your interested please feel free me to message me as I am always interested in gaining new insight or perspectives with regards to this subject matter.
Regards,
Kaluza Klein Theory
Just checking :)

Hello, just curious to get some information regarding Norcal law school admission. Am interested in Stanford, UCB and UCD. Has anyone in here got into Stanford or UCB and is willing to provide some insight regarding application process or provide general information.
Any thoughts on the Revised Pay as You Earn Plan (RPYE )?
Pros and Cons ??
Do you think the govt could afford it for the next 25 years?
What happens when you make too much money ?
How does it work with taxes? Do you pay your regular income taxes ... and then pay a fixed amount every year in taxes based on the loans forgiven?
I applied 8 weeks ago and have heard back from a number of schools. Some have offered generous scholarships, and their deposits are due next week. I still have not heard back from my top choice school, but I think it is likely that I'll be admitted. I am concerned however with how long the process is taking. I really don't want to spend a bunch of money on deposits especially if I get admitted into my top choice school, but I also don't want to miss out on a generous scholarship if my top choice doesn't admit me. I was thinking about reaching out to the admissions office of my top choice school and explaining the situation. Do we think this is a good/bad idea? What type of questions should I be asking them? How should I phrase them without coming off impatient or pushy? Thank you for any advice! Just the nature of the beast I guess..
Hello All!
I've been working on my statements for the next cycle (2021-2022). I think I have a decent 2-page rough draft for a PS, but I would love to get feedback on it. I'm not that concerned about my grammar/spelling. Rather, I want to make sure that the tone and content are persuasive.
Of course, I'm totally willing to read your PS statement in return!
So if you're interested, just PM me with your email and I'll send it over (and send your PS too if you want me to look at it).
In case it matters, my stats are 3.9X and 17low.
My university, like many others during the pandemic, has instituted an expanded pass/fail option which gives students an "S" (satisfactory) for any grade between and A-C and "CR" (credit) for a C- to F. Anyway, I have a class that has yet to give me a grade, but is really tough and I am considering going with the pass/fail option just in case it turns out poorly and tanks my GPA. I had read last year that LSAC was reminding schools not to penalize for pass/fail due to COVID and I was wondering if anybody knows if this is still the case. Is it worth having the "S" on my transcript in return for maintaining my GPA, or would a B+ look better even if it drops my average?
I am aware that it is generally not the best idea to Pass/Fail multiple courses, as it could be frowned upon by law schools. Since many undergrad schools have changed their policies regarding Pass/Fail options, in light of COVID, I have heard a lot of mixed opinions about whether it affects admissions. My university requires that all students take 2 physical education courses, both of which I completed this semester. Essentially everyone takes these courses for credit, opting for a Pass/Fail, or S/U grading option, since they are only one credit hour each and unreasonably difficult to receive an A in. I received a B+ in one class, and a B in the other. These do not bring down my GPA at all, however, if I were to Pass/Fail these classes, my cumulative GPA would increase 0.015 points (0.02 for CAS GPA). I know that the difference between 3.76 and 3.78 seems minuscule, but I am applying to schools in the fall, so this may be my last chance to change my GPA. I only have a week to decide before my transcript is finalized for this semester. Should I Pass/Fail these classes to increase my GPA? Will law schools even care if my transcript shows an "S" for introduction to swim conditioning?
I saw a question similar to this posted a few years back, so I want to see if there are any new updates or other people with this issue and how they overcame it.
I am a US citizen but I got my undergraduate degree in a foreign country (Taiwan). I want to apply to law school but worry about my ability to qualify (will admissions accept my foreign degree?).
Does anyone have any advice or resources that can answer this question?
Am going to attend a T3. I'm very worried about the overenrollment issue and what it might mean for my employment. Should I seriously consider deferring for a year?
Has anyone applied, what score got you in, how are scholarships, anyone on campus? What is the culture like?
I applied to multiple schools during the 2019 application cycle. I got accepted to several schools I was interested in and waitlisted at my top choice. Unfortunately the summer of 2019 my situation changed and I was unable to attend law school in the fall. My Dad had a heart attack, I had a back injury and lost feeling in one of my legs, and because of my missed work I couldn't afford to pay for a move to another state. I contacted the school where I had made my deposit and asked to defer. Unfortunately in spring of 2020 I injured my back again and a few weeks later my boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer. I'm currently not working and staying home as a caretaker during his treatment. I'm trying to use this time at home to study to retake the LSAT in hopes that a higher score will be the difference between waitlisted again vs accepted at my top choice. I'm hoping to apply for fall of 2022. I spent a lot of time on my personal statement in 2019. I wrote several different versions and felt like none of them really fit me. I finally wrote a version including my time working at a wildlife rehabilitation center and my interest in environmental law that I am really happy with. I don't know if it is appropriate to reuse my personal statement when applying to the same schools. I have time to write a new personal statement but I don't think I would be as happy with a new one. Would it be appropriate to submit an application with the same personal statement or would that look lazy to the admissions team?
So it's been awhile since I have graduated from my undergrad. My university did not have the standard 4.0 grading system and all the courses were to be graded with credit/no credit. I am trying to use Law School Predictor on 7Sage, but without knowing my numeric GPA, I am having a difficult time selecting my options. Could someone help?
Hi, I'm having an issue and was wondering if anyone else had the same/similar problem in the past and how they've dealt with it. LSAC has given me the run around and won't "formalize, or whatever" my CAS profile until the issue is resolved, so my profile is incomplete. So if you have any ideas please let me know.
Here's the situation:
LSAC has received all my official transcripts
Transcript from school A says I took class X at school C
Transcript from school B says I took class X at school B
I never attended school C
I did attend school B and took class X at school B
LSAC sees that the transcript from school A says I took class X at school C and labels school C as a school I've attended and failed to acknowledge
I tell LSAC I did not attend school C
LSAC told me that if I did not take class X at school C, then I need to have school A edit their transcript to show this fact and then I need to have them resubmit the corrected transcript to LSAC
School A is no longer a school
School A transformed into school D
School D is the custodian of school A's transcripts
School D cannot edit school A's transcripts
School C has written a "letter of non-attendance" on my behalf and I have forwarded that to LSAC
I've spoken with both people at LSAC proper and CAS, and supposedly last year when I was trying to remedy this problem, the letter of non attendance would be enough to remedy the situation (and this was after a big time sink of call after call after email). Now, I'm getting conflicting input on how to fix the situation from them, and also now they are telling me that the letter of non attendance needs to be sent directly from school C to them via snail mail and that the previously forwarded email from school C containing a scanned document with the signature of their registrar is not enough. Basically, the goal posts keep moving and I have no idea what to do from here.
Problem persists without resolution and the fixes to the problem that LSAC are giving me are literally impossible.
I am applying to law school this fall and I have one professor that I know can write me a letter of rec but I need to get another professor so I was planning on asking one of my professors that I will have this upcoming semester - has anyone here ever asked a current professor for a letter of rec even though the semester was not over yet? And if you did, how early in the semester did you ask? I would like to apply to law schools by the latest end of November.
Do Canadian law schools care if you take lower year courses in upper years (in my case, this is to fulfill requirements for a minor)?
Hi everyone,
If anyone needs help/advice with those personal statements, you can just message me in my inbox!
I've been out of school for a few years but my resume is...supbar to say the least and I haven't had it properly looked at in years aside from the occasional employer. I just don't have anything remarkable to put down regarding my college years and none of my jobs were in the field of law. I also don't plan on applying to more than 6-7 schools (all T-14) so would the full-on admissions consulting be worth it in my case? It's horrifically expensive and I didn't foresee such a cost. I understand that securing scholarships can amount to getting tens of thousands of dollars but there's obviously no guarantee and if you don't have this kind of money, it won't appear just because you've got the need. Before I even attempt to shell out this amount of cash, I want to know if there are other options. All I know for certain is that I won't be able to do all this alone. I've shown my personal statements to my professors before (4 in total) and aside from correcting negligible grammatical mistakes, they've left them pretty much intact and so I'm left feeling lost because I know for certain that they were not even close to being ready. And even worse, I've made a significant change in why I want to pursue law and so all those old personal statements (or what was left of them) are rendered null and void.
I still haven't even taken the LSAT exam yet, but I'm really feeling the heat given how close the Fall 2022 admissions cycle is to beginning. I'm at a loss as to how to even approach fixing my resume, let alone the "optional" diversity statement.
Hello all. I'm trying to add a school to my list on the LSAC website for next fall and the school I want to add is greyd out and not able to add. Can anyone help me out with this? Thank you
Hi all! Looking to do an essay editing exchange. Primarily personal statements but I'd also be willing to exchange other essays or resumes as well. Comment or inbox me if interested! Thanks and good luck to everyone!
First discussion post!
Every single one of my jobs on my resume is intermittent employment. I was an actor and needed jobs that were flexible. My question is, how do I fill out the hours per week section? Jobs ranged from 0-50 hours a week depending on who needed work and my own availability. Is it bad to leave that section blank on the employment section? It looks too cluttered to add (0-xx hours a week) on all the jobs on my resume.
Has anyone found a good solution to this?
