Does anyone experience scoring high on a PT (above your average) and then taking your next one, only to find you dipped below your average? I notice this pattern frequently. Could this perhaps be overconfidence? This was PT#71, which I found pretty difficult too. Whatever the case might be, it is very frustrating because I am still 5-6 points away from my goal.

Hi! I thought it'd be interesting to get a general feel for this question. I've increased my score by about 3-4 points on average through a month of studying and I'm not sure what to think of that -- it seems a tad slow, especially since I assume the rate of increase will decline as my PT scores get higher. What has your experience been and what would you recommend to further increase scores?

PT/LR advice please!

Hi, so I've recently started doing PTs (around 5) and I am scoring in the low 150s. My BR score has been increasing, with the most recent being 167. The problem I have when doing PTs is that I always run out of time for LR and end up not doing the last 5 or 6 questions (while skipping other questions). I end up getting around 10 wrong per LR section but when I BR, I miss around 3 per section. What can I do to bridge that gap? Should I drill individual LR sections and stop PTing? I went back to the curriculum and worked on my weaker areas like Flaw and weaken questions. Sometimes I have a really hard time understanding the wording of some answer choices, which take up time.

As for RC, it's my weakest section and I never get to the last passage during PTs.

My plan was to take the test in September..but at this point I am really unsure if I should cancel and write in December. My goal is 160+. I wanted to write the test in September so I could have a chance to retake in Dec if I needed to, but if I write in December, that would be the last score some law schools in Canada would accept.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question about Premium

I finished the 7sage core curriculum and after finishing the first few PT's to which I have access to solutions, I noticed that PTs 39-51are no longer sold anywhere online... I am pretty upset because the ultimate course gives me guided solutions to 12 PTs to which I have no way of accessing... I feel like this is sort of unfair, and was wondering if anyone else was facing the same dilemma?

Ive looked online everywhere and the best I could find was the Manhattan prep books that include pt 40-51 but they are grouped by question type so there is no way for me to pull them apart and take LSATs under real conditions with these books...

i was hoping if there are any 7sagers with ADHD (or ADD) or even without that could maybe give some tips or pointers for writing the actual lsat/studying for the lsat. i find myself rereading LR questions and wasting precious time. also i find myself missing on key words and phrases because i read over it too fast. what are some methods that i can use that would be effective when studying for the actual test and also manage my time when answering them timed?

53 minute test proctor

The number of test takers that receive accommodations of time and a half per section is growing from what I can tell, has there been any thought from 7sage on making a four section test proctor that has 53 minute sections?

Highest PT score to-date!!!!

OK so. I have been testing using older PTs and score has been ranging from 158-163. I wasn't sure if I would get anywhere in that range on the new PTs. So this morning I took PT 70 using the Proctor feature of 7Sage. And to my surprise I actually score much higher, 174.

IMO the newer exam questions were much easier or was my increase due to this product being AMAZING (I'd like to hope that it's both). Did anyone else find the newer exam questions to be less difficult? Did you see an increase in score between the older vs new exams? Was this luck? I can barely breathe from excitement but I don't want to get my hopes up if this was a whim.

Hey everyone! SO, I am planning on taking the September test, hoping that it is my last one, but yesterday is making me wary of my prospects. For the past few weeks I have been working exclusively on RC, since that was my weakest section. I took PT 70 on Saturday, hoping to hit around a 163-165, but ended up getting a 156. Based on what I had been scoring on my timed, full sections of RC, and my usual scores on the other sections, this came as a big shock to me. I had been averaging from 3-6 wrong on RC, 2-3 on LG, and around 6 wrong on each LR section. Definitely looking for a bit of inspiration, since I totally fell apart yesterday when reviewing, and started to question whether I should even take the test in September. My BR was 164, also lower then expected. Overall, I was thinking maybe the results were due to not taking a full PT in a while, but I am really unsure what to do at this point. I really wanted to take the test in September and do well on it and be done with it, but like I said, this score is making me reconsider things. So for those much more wise than I, what should I do?????

Science Stims in LR

Hey everyone,

Like many others, I do not come from a science background and therefore I find that I really struggle with Science passages/questions. I have been able to improve this in the RC section by practicing the memory method and focusing on becoming a more active reader. What I really struggle with is the detailed science questions that frequently appear in the LR section. I often find myself losing focus and then having to re-read or spending far too much time trying to figure out what exactly the argument is trying to say. I have tried to apply the same methods that have helped me in RC, but to no avail. I know skipping is a recommended strategy, but at some point I need to take on my fear, don't I? My goal score is 170+ and I am continuously losing points on these types of questions.

Has anybody else come across this problem; someone that has recommendation for me on how I can improve upon my embarrassingly inadequate science cred.

Thanks!

BR method

Hi, I have a question about the method.

I'm not sure whether I'm doing it correctly...

I was doing review bfr checking the correct answers, but now doing aft checking answers.

Because I thought when I choose answer choice, I already have my reasoning to choose it...but is this not efficient?

Why do we have to do the reasoning explanation part again after solving the question? (bc we already choose the ans. based on our reasoning)

If you know the correct reasoning, you would not miss the question.

Also I'm worried whether my reasoning is correct or not, whether that's the reasoning that makes the choices right or wrong...

Maybe I did not understand the BR method correctly. But I'm not sure how ppl improve using this method...

Could anyone elaborate the method a little bit? and if you could answer or address my questions/concerns? :(

Why and how will ppl improve using the method?

Thank you,

Conditional Reasoning

Hi Everyone,

I see that there's a Conditional Reasoning/Introduction to Logic portion as part of the Logical Reasoning Curriculum here on 7Sage. It seems to be the same on my PowerScore Bible. However, I've recently been reviewing some of my notes and it seems as though it's a little more inclined towards the Logic Games section. Which has me wondering, is it necessary to be going through that chapter?

That chapter seems to come right after MSS/MP/MC. I was really hoping to continue understanding and approaching different question types before jumping into that. So... Is it necessary learn this material to approach some of the Weakening/Strengthening questions later on? Seems like I'm missing something here :/

Thanks for all your help!

PT Review Method

So as some of you may know from my previous post, I've started taking full-timed PT's.

Typically, when I drilled sections of the LSAT, I'd use the Blind Review method. I'd do this immediately after I completed the section.

However, upon starting PT's, I'm wondering if any of you have found it useful NOT to BR immediately after taking the test.

Personally, I've been scoring my PT's immediately after taking them, without BR. Then I walk away, come back the next day and retake the entire test.

Upon comparing both tests, I usually find there are certain questions I get wrong both times, and other questions I get wrong simply because of stupid mistakes; either I failed to identify a quantifier in the stimulus or some other random error.

I feel this then allows me to hone in on questions that are difficult for me while at the same time taking note of the types of random errors I am prone to making.

It has also given me a better feel for what ideal timing/pacing SHOULD feel like. Typically, you're a bit faster the second time because you have some familiarity with the logical inferences being made.

Just wondering if there are any thoughts on this method or if there is any other method that is commonly endorsed for reviewing full timed PT's.

Hey guys! This is my first post here and I have a quick question. Anyone from the admin staff from 7sage would be even more helpful. I am about to purchase the ultimate+ program and what I'm primarily going to be focusing on are obviously all of the PT explanations. Now, I will only have access to PTs up to PT 77 but I know explanations for PT 78 will be released shortly. And PT 79, 80 and so on during my 16 months of access. So will these new PTs that were not available at the time of ultimate+ purchase be automatically included to PTs I will have access to as they come along? Or will I have to purchase each newer PT separately? If anyone has the answers to this, please help me out! Thank you guys :)

[Admin note: Ultimate+ includes 12 months now]

Underachiever!?

So I'm aware I'm not trying to get into a T-14 school. I have actually set my eyes on a rather low ranking regional school, where I intend to live after law school. My question is how much studying does it really take to get a 160. I've heard so many mixed reviews that just a few PT's makes breaking into the 60's rather easy. My cold diagnostic was a 152. Looking to hear other people's stories on how much and how long it took to start hitting the 60's. Please just don't say two months, like I want to know how many hours a day/week, what material, ect. Any advice helps.

I still have like 6 weeks until test day and I have improved a lot over the past two months. Reading comprehension is currently a work in progress but I'm feeling pretty good. What should I be doing from now until test day?

Yo everyone!

I am thinking about getting 7Sage and have a question before I pick which package to buy. I have been watching the free LG explanations on YouTube and keep hearing the instructor keep referencing going through the logic games" bundle" ? Which package includes that? I searched the site and some had said they are no longer available? Is that for all packages?

And if they are no longer available than what should I do instead? It seems like I'm screwed for LG is I don't have access to the bundle. I'm someone who wants to buy the best package and do it just like the instructor said to ensure I can improve on games. They are by far my worst section... Any advice on where to get them? And for those of you that don't have the bundle, what do you use instead?

Best time to study?

I work full time, and get home pretty tired. So far, I have studied in the evenings. But seems like, I can do better if I try studying in the morning. Any suggestions? What's your ideal time to study?

Testing Center Chaos

Okay, I’ve taken my previous LSATs at my alma mater. It was great. Huge desks in a room I’ve had classes in on a campus I know intimately in a city I call home. What more could anyone ask for? Well in their wisdom, they’ve decided not to administer the test in September. I’m pretty sure they’re only doing it to screw with me, but regardless, I’ve got to find a new center.

I’m like, okay, well I’ll just have to do it in Oxford. Whatever, no big deal. Wrong. Big deal. It occurred to me (thank god) to check the football schedule and sure enough, there’s a home game that day- and an SEC conference game at that. There is no way I’m taking the LSAT in that environment.

So I’m just going to leave.

My question is, where should I go? I’ve been thinking of cities like San Francisco, NYC, DC. I can go anywhere. But I think what I’m really wanting is something small and peaceful like a little village on the Pacific coast like with cliffs, a small independent B&B, and probably a dark secret of some kind (those little towns always have something like that going on, right?). Or maybe like somewhere tucked away in the Rockies near a mountain lake. Some kind of serene shit like that, you know?

So, any suggestions?

December LSAT

Does taking the December 4th LSAT lower your chances of getting accepted to a law school? I want to go to HLS and I was told if you don't apply before thanksgiving it is then extremely difficult to get accepted because so many people have already applied.
