So the biological species concept is used by "lumpers," or people who like to group similar but different species together into one species, and is the idea that if there is no SIGNIFICANT interbreeding among members of different groups in the wild, then they should be considered distinct, or different, species because they are reproductively isolated.

How do I differentiate between B and D? Both talk about interbreeding among members of a species...if members of two different populations do interbreed, what would a lumper do? Would he stuff them together? Is that why D is correct? But D doesn’t mention whether the populations are wild or not. In terms of question type would this be comparable to a mss question?

Does anyone have any tricks for getting this one correct with zero understanding of science? I skipped it and honestly would happily skip it again on the actual LSAT. I'm probably distracted by the science jargon but didn't want to waste time parsing it out. Is there a cookie cutter format under the jargon that I missed?

If anyone could give a breakdown for these two questions, it would help a lot! For #13, I was able to narrow it down to A and B but don't understand what makes B correct and A incorrect and I'm at a complete loss for Q22.

For 13, I picked A because the passage presented markets as this self correcting thing. It showed how inside information seemed to just spread amongst investors and so I thought the situation in the question stem matched that as well.

As for 14, I thought thermometer matched because the markets according to passage B just gauges majority opinion of investors but why does thermostat match passage A? And what is the difference between a typewriter and a word processor?

For 22, I picked A thinking if it were difficult for international agreements to be put in place to protect endangered species, wouldn't that mean more species would bring about more endangered ones? E just doesn't make sense as an answer to me but it's correct so...

Im a little confused regarding this question. wouldn't B be a more accurate answer because the park ranger is saying people shouldn't get tickets for laws they don't know since they haven't don't a good job making the law known to the public? but after they do a better job making people aware of the new regulations they can start giving tickets?

Admin Note: Edited the title. Please use the format: "PT#.S#.Q# - brief description of question"

I am at the point where I can set up the games well with my inferences and get through the questions and rarely miss, but I'm spending a lot of time doing so. I usually miss a whole game when I am doing timed sessions. Any advice on speeding up on my set up?

I thought B and C both worked. Wouldn't the first sentence explain why the public is so concerned about water issues when pollution is just as serious an issue?

Could someone who go the question correct help?

People be telling me the first sentence is a principle or it isn’t…which is it? Does any of this matter? Ugh.

PT 90 LR

Not really seeing why the answer is D here. Wouldn't creating the new warehouse make it possible for the second even to occur?

I called LSAC, and they weren't sure. I'm going to give ProctorU a call later, but wanted to see if any recent test-takers knew. The directions include downloading an applet in the middle of steps. I should have admin access on my work laptop. I downloaded and completed the PSI Secure Browser for writing and didn't have to enter admin info. I've been trying to find forbidden software to download and test but nothing I can find requires my organization's sign-in. Long story short...can we install that piece of software before the exam? It would make me feel better to do so, but I didn't know if there would be some kind of problem if I did so beforehand. Curious if anyone had tried or asked about it is all.

Hello all,

I have been foolproofing the games from 1-35 recently and have seen significant improvement in my overall LG performance. When I started studying, I could barely answer a couple questions and would just stare at the games not knowing what to do. So, thanks 7sage for the wonderful study tips and resources for this section. I used to get anywhere from -15 to -9 wrong per section and now I am going roughly -3 to -6 wrong on fresh timed sections.

My approach recently has been to scan the section games to see which one is the weird/misc game. If I am able to succeed on this first step, I will skip around this one game, complete the other, more standard games (sequencing, grouping, in/out), and, then, leave the last weird game for the end. If I can complete the other three games in roughly 3.5 to 8 mins depending on difficulty, I will then have a lot of extra time at the end of the section to attack a weirder/misc game.

Does anyone else employ this kind of LG section approach?

I'm consistently getting around -14 to -20 on the RC sections, especially in the newer PT's. I take the November LSAT and am completely discouraged for this section. I know more than likely I will be retaking the January exam because of this. I've tried so many things to help like low res paragraphs, taking my time to read the paragraph, tying back to the previous paragraph as best I could and other techniques. I am having so much trouble understanding the paragraphs and even when I feel like I do, the answer choices for the questions just completely confuse me and then I begin to question everything I read and realize that I don't get it or forgot everything I just read.

Does anyone else agree that the passages in test 92+ were quite difficult?

The heirloom and bankruptcy ones (passages one and three) contained difficult language that tried to trip you up; the questions weren't necessarily more difficult than average, but I would say these are reflective of the passages we'll see for the November test.

Hello all,

I’ve noticed recently the more I practice LR questions in the morning, the better my performance is. For LG I can either do it in the morning or afternoon, and my performance doesn’t oscillate as much.

Has anyone else realized this for LR? If you haven’t, I suggest trying it because you may not be practicing at the optimum time.

Can anyone explain how it's B and not D

I broke it down like this

  • widespread--cause---writing bio to end
  • explanation
  • no revealing material unless password
  • I thought of it as MC for the end because it would justify why they did all this

For Q8, I have difficulty deciding between B and C. I have some disagreement with some words in both of B and C, which makes it even harder to pick.

Based on my notes, I wrote down the MP of Passage A as "Intro to market and advocate for its abilities to forecast and efficiency to learn."

Mp of Passage B as "against to think market as too different from other polls. Fallible."

However, it does not help much to answer Q8.

    (B) what can be learn from studying the movement of stock markets?

    (C) Can markets be used to elicit reliable information?

For B, I understand that both passages discuss markets in general instead of stock markets. However, we do know the authors of both passages are mainly concern about what the movement of markets represent. For author A, the movement of a market forecasts, learns from collective wisdom. For author B, the movement of a market, the movement represents the populace opinion of a certain time period. But the main problem remains that they are not talking about stock markets, but markets in general.

For C, the question is about markets in general, which is a correct description of both passages. And I am confident that author A agrees and mainly focuses on illustrating the fact that market can be use to elicit reliable information. However, I am not quite confident about what author B thinks. Author B says that market is more of a reflection of people's opinion of the time, which means that it can either be right or wrong. And she also says that market is fallible. But I would not say author B argues that markets can't be used to elicit reliable information? It is too strong for passage B in my opinion. But it did come out to be the correct answer choice. Please help me out with this.

For Q22, I was completely lost after finishing reading the answer choices. I was attracted to D. Please help me with E!

Thank you for reading my post and discuss the questions with me. These are the only two questions I got wrong in the section, so if you have any questions about the section, I am glad to help! Good luck!

Hi everyone! I'm taking the November LSAT and am starting to think about all the little test-day details and how to deal with ProctorU.

Does anyone know at what point we're allowed to wear ear plugs? I'm panicking because if I have to do it during test time, it would take up precious seconds!
