Even when you get the answer right, do you guys still watch the explanation videos? I still do, just so it really, truly sticks. How are you all doing?
@moonydidit YESS, I think like this every day while I learn Lol. I'm just like, wow... how the hell are people answering these questions in less than 2 minutes?!
@armondmnats402 Yes, I completely agree. At first read, I had no idea wtf they were talking about, then I reread it two more times and highlighted the points made. The highlighting feature truly helped! When I tried to chain it out using conditional logic, it was confusing me, but summarizing the main points and tying it to the answer choice helped a ton. Plus, once I saw A and looked at how the other answer choices were so horribly wrong, I knew I picked the right answer.
I only got this wrong because I misinterpreted the question stem. I didn't realize we were searching for a must be false answer Lol, so yes, E makes perfect sense.
@JuanPabloBetancourtMora I thought the same too, I just assumed pat was a member, so I chose C. Now I understand why it's D. This was a difficult one.
I got it right, but definitely not under the time LOL. idc a win is a win. I was happy I chained it out well enough for me to understand why D is the correct answer.
@kiarahemani Oh, really? I thought that on the actual LSAT, they give you a piece of paper as well...
I honestly got this one right by POE. It was hard to understand at first.
@adc411 Correct! I always think this when people complain about reading, i'm like.... ummmm you do realize your going to law school to become a lawyer...
@aakash2003ch457 I agree with your point and the person's below. Like I understand the logic behind the mapping.. but realistically, we don't have time to do this on the actual exam.
I'm a Costco Supervisor, and I study 6 days a week. Usually only for an Hour and 30.. more if I have the brain power. I do my absolute best to give myself off at least one day a week. I usually prefer Saturdays. I work in retail, so my hours are irregular. I, too, have an almost an hour commute to and from work every day. Some days are really harder than others to study because my role at work is so overstimulating, and a lot of brain power is required to manage so many people. I definitely understand the frustration. Studying for this test is already challenging, but it's even more of a challenge when you have other responsibilities. Still doable! May we all perform exceptionally well on this exam and achieve the scores we've been working so hard for.
@JessicaBeitler This is honestly how I answer the questions, process of elimination.
Great Explanation. I got this one correct, but it did take me 8mins :/.. I wanted to understand the stimulus thoroughly. How can I get faster? I guess by practicing and drilling more.
@eburst87 LOL, you said exactly what I was feeling..I'm like.. okay.... so this was super wordy and over convoluted for absolutely no reason. But I guess this is how cases we read as attorneys will be.
I Hope this helps someone understand: I to, chose A, fell into the trap. After reviewing it again, I understand why B is correct.
Ask: “What is the author TRYING to get me to believe or do?”
If it’s a general fact → not it. If it’s a rule accepted by everyone → not it. If it’s something the author wants YOU to adopt → conclusion.
If the argument gives reasons FOR a sentence →that sentence is the conclusion.
A is wrong, because it states the context that introduces the conclusion. "It is a given" - The author is not GIVING a reason for this; they are just using this as the foundation. There is no "WHY?" because it is a GIVEN.
B is correct because it is the conclusion followed by support. It makes you question "So What?"..
Premises answer the question "WHY?"
Conclusions answer the question "So What?"
I still don't understand how it's answer choice A. If 52% thought he was a good or excellent mayor before and after the survey, then why would these same people think his performance is poor as a Mayor??? I am extremely confused here. What am I not understanding?
The wording in answer choice A doesn't make sense to me... why didn't the percentage change? I don't feel like A explains the paradox.
