Hey everyone, so I wrote my first ever LSAT in November and I am pretty happy with my score. My first diagnostic was a 141 and now on the November Flex Exam I scored a 163. What I was hoping for some opinions on is my next move from here. Currently, I am signed up for the January flex exam (I signed up immediately after writing the November exam in a somewhat state of panic lol). I am happy with my score as it lands me in a good spot with the schools I have applied to (I am a Canadian student), and my GPA for my last 20 is also pretty good (3.695/4.0). I am torn on whether I should keep going with the January flex or withdraw. My average scores for my prep tests leading up to the exam ranged from the mid to high 150's to mid 160's, which is why I feel happy with my performance on exam day and feeling a little uneasy about whether I will be able to improve upon my initial score of 163.

Let me know what you guys think, I don't have many resources or people to draw from so I am interested in what the 7sage community has to say!

Any Tips on getting better at LR. I'm not doing so great on this section of the test and need help. This section is keeping me from my target score.

Is the percentile you rank in different for every test you take ? Meaning if I get a 149 on one lsat which tells me I’m in the 39th percentile then I get a 149 on another lsat will my percentile differ ?

Do law schools look at percentiles ?

Hello, I am currently doing untimed practice sections for LR and I am finishing sections in 75 minutes and getting around -4- to -7. Should I be reviewing the strategies more, drilling specific questions type or keep on practicing with individual sections until I get my time down? I have read the Loophole book and it definitely simplified LR for me.

Hi all, I took the November LSAT and scored a 161. I'd like to score a 165+ in January. I've PT'ed 168, 169 before so I know it's possible, I'm just not consistent. I am strong in LG and very weak in LR (and to an extent RC). If there's anybody out there weak in LG and strong in LR and RC that would like to study together for January, please let me know. We can help each other out. I'm really serious about getting my score up.

I've started to more consistently score in 170-172 range though my peak was a 174 over a month ago. Any tips on how to get into the mid-to-high 170s. For context, my undergrad GPA ain't stellar (3.66, mostly due to premed classes) and I plan on applying to Penn, UMich, UVa, Duke, and G'town. I'm taking the test in Jan.

My issue is that I don't just have one weakness. For example, in my last two PTs my score got dragged down by -4 in LG (silly mistakes I should've caught) and -7 in LR (PT 59, first LR section). There are some areas I know need work, like Parallel LR Qs and not freaking out when I hit a challenging game in LG. But sometimes things will crop up, like SA and NA questions, that I thought I had a handle on. I do think I'm getting better at RC, for a long while I'd get 3 to 4 wrong and be unable to figure out the right answer in BR, in my last 3 PTs I've managed to get the right answers in BR (-4) and then went -1 in the last 2.

I know a low 170 is a good score but I consider it the bare minimum.

Hi, so in the past two PT's, I've scored 173 and 174 respectively (175 and 179 BR respectively as well). I am wondering what people in this range do to maintain and improve from this point on. Do you continue with drilling sections and reviewing wrong answers? I find that I am spending less time than I used to on studying, and I am wondering if that's a natural result of getting more correct and understanding the test better. Would love any advice from 7Sagers who have been in this situation. Thank you!

Hi all. I am looking for someone to review and go over pt's with about once a week. I took the November exam and scored a 161 and am shooting for a 165 for January. I study for a couple hours a day during the week and then take a full pt on Saturdays. I have completed 60-80 as pt's and am planning on working up from 81 as January approaches. My plan was to hopefully take the same pt's each weekend and then meet on zoom maybe on Monday of the following week. We could use the screen share feature and take turns going over our exam and talking through our wrong answers or thought processes. I think having someone explain their thoughts and process will be very helpful for me, and hopefully I could be of some help to you. I've been awarded the scholarship (all three years) for a local school, which is great! However, I am still waiting on the rest of my applications which are pending. Am I required to answer the email? I think if I did answer, it would be a lame "this is great news, but I don't know if I will be attending your school" response. Also, I am concerned that if I don't answer somehow the offer will be off the table in a month's time (yet, the deposit is due in April, FAFSA February), but I think this is just anxiety talking more than anything. Anyone care to enlighten me, please?

I scored a 169 on the October LSAT and looking to break 170 on the January test. Reading comprehension is holding me back, and I am currently averaging around -3 – -4 on practice tests for RC. If anyone has any tips/tricks/drilling suggestions to get down to -1 – -2, please let me know!

I work at a law firm and my current assignment is to draft a protocol to terminate an agreement, and I'm having trouble applying what I've so far learned in logic. I'd love to hear what you guys think about this particular article in the agreement that we're asked to terminate. It's something along the lines of:

This Agreement shall come into force as of the share acquisition of the New Shareholder has been accomplished.

It's not so neatly put but my understanding is that it is a conditional statement, and that it can be translated as 'Share acquisition → Come into effect'.

My first question is do you think this is the correct translation??

The second issue is (let's assume the above logical translation holds here) that the acquisition of shares has NOT taken place in our case. A senior associate told me that the Agreement has not come into effect because of this, which made me think: sufficiency necessity confusion!! We cannot infer '/Share acquisition → /Come into effect' from 'Share acquisition → Come into effect'!!!

BUT I've come to think that he has a point..

All along we learned that given Jedi → Force, it would be fallacious to infer anything from /Jedi since the rule becomes irrelevant when we negate the sufficient condition. Why? Because we simply do not know what would happen outside this world. In the '/Jedi' instance, you could be a force user or not, we simply do not have enough info from just Jedi → Force.

But in this case, we have an entire agreement to figure out what happens when. And in our agreement, there is no other condition or instance that makes the agreement enforceable. No sort of 'This agreement shall enter into force upon signature by both parties' clause, etc.

So, my second question is, since our conditional statement has become irrelevant (since the sufficient condition about share acq. has not been satisfied) and since we have no other condition to trigger the necessary condition, can we conclude that the necessary condition will also not take place (/Come into effect)??

Hey guys! I’ll be taking the LSAT for the first time in January of 2021. I have been studying like crazy, and plan to study everyday for a few hours at least until that day. Unfortunately, I am unable to afford any formal LSAT tutoring, so I have been using Kahn Academy, one LSAT prep book, and basically any YouTube videos and methods I can get my hands on. I was wondering if you guys had any other study tools that I could utilize. I’m currently scoring around 160 on practice tests, but would like to get that up. Thank you!

Hi all - I'm in about month 8 of studying with various breaks and hiatuses along the way. My last section to master is Reading Comp. I can go anywhere from a -1 to a -9, but it's very dependent on timing. How have you all mastered timing for the reading comp section and balanced that with accuracy? It takes me 3-4 minutes to get through the passage. It would be great if I could get through in 2-3 minutes, but even if I tell myself that's my goal it usually doesn't happen and I end up running out of time on the last passage. Any tips would be helpful and thank you in advance!
