Hey all,

I have time to work with 1-2 more students a few times per week this summer. 1L expanded my ideologies about the test and its importance. More about my background can be found on the tutoring page here:

Update: My inbox filled up more than expected and I no longer have openings. However, I am always willing to offer insights about the test or admissions process via DM. Happy Studying!

Effective July 8, 2021, the LSAC have introduced two distinct Fee Waiver packages to assist candidates of varying economic circumstances. Candidates who meet the criteria will receive access to the following, based on the tier for which they are approved.

Tier 1: Designed for the most under-resourced candidates. Candidates approved for Tier 1 will receive, at no charge:

  • Two LSATs, within the two-year fee waiver period
  • One score preview, first-time test takers only
  • One CAS subscription
  • One LawHub PrepPlus subscription, provides one year of free access to more than 80 full-length authentic LSAT practice tests
  • Six Law School Reports
  • Tier 2: Designed for less under-resourced candidates. Candidates approved for Tier 2 will receive, at no charge:

  • One LSAT, within the two-year fee waiver period
  • One score preview, first-time test takers only
  • One CAS subscription
  • One LawHub PrepPlus subscription, provides one year of free access to more than 80 full-length authentic LSAT practice tests
  • Three Law School Reports
  • Eligibility for the LSAC Fee Waiver Program is based on the U.S. federal poverty guidelines, with different thresholds for independent and dependent candidates. In the past, for example, an independent candidate earning less than or equal to 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, and a dependent candidate earning up to 150% of the poverty guidelines, were eligible for the LSAC fee waiver, provided they met thresholds for cash balances, overall assets, and other requirements.

Under the new program, an independent candidate earning up to 250% of the federal poverty guidelines will continue to be eligible for the Tier 1 fee waiver package. An independent candidate earning 250-300% of the poverty guideline will now be eligible for the Tier 2 fee waiver package. Similarly, dependent candidates will be eligible for the Tier 1 fee waiver package if they earn up to 150% of the poverty guideline; if their income exceeds this amount, they can receive further consideration if their income combined with their family income does not exceed 300% of the poverty guidelines. All candidates will still need to meet other eligibility criteria.

In addition to creating the new tiered system for fee waivers, the LSAC is also increasing the maximum cash balances candidates can have and still qualify for one of the fee waiver tiers. Previously, the limitations on cash balances had prevented some candidates from qualifying for fee waivers.

The LSAC encourage students to apply for fee waivers at least six months in advance of when they plan to take the LSAT, so they have an opportunity to fully utilize PrepPlus, which is included in the fee waiver packages.

So I picked C the first time around and I wanted to know if this would have been the correct answer if the stimulus had concluded that the government's decision to limit the nuclear power plant's liability in case of a nuclear accident was an unwise decision because the financial security of the operators of these nuclear power plants is dependent on the plants being safe (b/c if they weren't, then they would go broke)

And why would the government choose to help nuclear power plants in this way? I thought the decision to limit financial liability was the government admitting the nuclear power plants weren't safe...but that's wrong, according to the video.

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking to create a group chat (either via iMessage or Discord chat) to form a study group for highly motivated, and actively studying individuals looking to take the October 2021 exam or the November 2021 exam.

I would be looking to meet realistically at least twice a week to try and hammer out some hard questions and strategies.

Currently I am PT'ing in the mid 160 range, but looking to get to the 170 range by October's exam.

Everyone regardless of current PT score is invited, that being said this group will be for those looking to shoot for the 170 score range.

Please leave a comment or message me privately if interested.

    Thank you.

I recently realized that LSAC takes into account your grades from all institutions when calculating your GPA.

A little about me... I took several dual credit classes in high school and transferred to a different school after my freshman year. Although I did not do poorly in the dual credits or my freshman year, I did not get a 4.0. I graduated from my degree issuing institution with a 4.0. My LSAC GPA is predicted to be around a 3.78.

All that being said, I understand that I cannot omit my grades from high school and my transfer school. Would it be worthwhile to write an addendum with my application showing that I graduated with a 4.0 from my degree issuing school?

I just got back my June flex score today (since I delayed completing the writing sample) and am unsure whether to keep or cancel my score. This is my first LSAT take. I got a 156 and while it is within the range of how I've scored leading up to the test, albeit on the very low end, I was hoping to score at least in the low 160s since I have been scoring there, my last two PTs leading up to the June flex were both 163. I will definitely be retaking as I cannot apply with this score, but not sure at this point whether keeping it on file is worse or a cancel is.

    hey guys,

sorry for asking but I am having doubts about my abilities on the lsat. I am scheduled to perform in august but I am thinking of changing it to October I just want to know what is the deadline/ last day that I can change it. I know I have to pay a fee for it which sucks but I wanted to know if anyone has any information on this. I was thinking of changing it 2 weeks before the exam/ giving myself more time to improve. This exam has sucked the soul out of me.

Hi guys, I'm taking the test in August and live in NYC. I won't be able to take the test at home because I don't have a quiet place to do it. Wondering where NYC residents, if you have rented a place for lsat in this past year, have successfully (no wifi failure, not noisy, etc) completed this test at? Did you go somewhere outside of the city or just really far out in Queens, Bronx, or Brooklyn? Thanks!

Hoping to crowd-source resources. I'm fairly comfortable if I can diagram a sentence but am trying to slowly wean myself off this time-consuming method. Anyone have great LR problems, drills, exercises that have helped you with conditional language you'd like to share?

    Where I am at:

  • exhausted the CC topics on cond logic
  • saved a few LR questions to return to periodically
  • "flashcards" of the cond indicators
  • Thanks much in advance! I'll try to pull up the LR questions I've saved to share as well.

I'm currently in the low 160s, looking to improve my RC performance. I'm looking for a RC Drilling partner to help practice active reading and other good RC habits:

Familiar with the test content (question types, strategies, etc.)

Reliable: show up on time and communicate if your plan changes

Comfortable with tackling the harder RC passages (4-5 stars)

Available to drill (via Zoom) at least once a week in at least one of the following time frames: 7-9am EST or 5-8pm EST (M-F); after 5pm EST on Sat or Sun

No prior preparation needed. We will:

  • Pick a couple of passages on spot
  • Take turn to read each paragraph
  • Practice reacting to the information and making predictions (main points, tone, etc.)
  • Take turn to answer the questions: reason out loud why you eliminate/choose answer choices.
  • Please message me your availability to study (date/day/time), some facts about your LSAT journey (current level, how long you've been studying, your goal, etc.) and your email.

I will send an invite and we'll conquer RC from there!

    Hi guys!

I’m super stressed because the August test is 6 weeks away and I have barely improved my diagnostic scores of LR and RC. I’m shooting for a 160-165 but averaging a 153-155 currently.

I’m great at LG with an average of 4-6 wrong

but RC is my biggest weakness with my most recent being -14 wrong and LR most recent being -10.

My diagnostic was -15 RC, -14 LG, and -13/-16 LR.

So minimal improvement. But I just need more of a boost.

Untimed my best RC section was -7 and my best LR was -6. But I don’t know I’m just super stressed, please help!

I'm not at all understanding the answer to this question. As far as I can tell, none of the answer choices seem to be even somewhat related to voter reactions except choice D.

D creates a situation wherein public perception is "Politicians in scandals should be punished, but only if their opposition is not as bad". This would align with the voting preferences expressed.

E, the "correct" answer, creates a situation wherein parties should be criticized instead of incumbents when we know it is more the party's fault. This doesn't seem remotely correct, however, because the question itself makes no effort to explain "fault" as an impact on voter preferences, nor does it reflect voter preferences at all - reelecting the incumbant does not punish their party at all.

    Help?

Hey everyone! I am looking to score in the high 150s-low 160s for the November exam. I have been with 7sage for about a month now. If anyone is in a study group or would be able to tutor me I would appreciate it!

Hello! I am looking for a tutor to meet with a few times before I take the August test. I am looking to improve my score by 3-5 points at least before August exam.

I graduated undergrad in 2016. I contacted my 2 closest professors for recommendation letters and they are willing to write them, but I am worried I need more recent references. I am struggling to come up with a third reference, my former work supervisors that I interacted with on a daily basis neither know me on a personal level nor have the best command of the English language. I moved to a new city just when Covid started so I had no chance to get involved in a community organization outside of work.

Does anyone here keep an error log and if so do you use a notebook or on the computer? Im trying to figure out a way to create an error log on paper that's easy to use/helpful so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it!
