So I registered for ProctorU and did my equipment test and everything passed except for my RAM usage. It said I'm using 98% of my RAM and the max is 90%. I assumed this was because I had other applications open so I closed everything on my computer other than the window with the equipment test, and the RAM category still failed. Is this an issue that will prevent me from writing on test day?

So happy to say I've accepted an offer at my top choice! Deposit down and ready for the fall! Anyone else make their decision yet? I would love to hear everyone's hard work pay off!

Taking Jan and want to get a sense of what pts the flex is comparable to. Like is the LR like the 80s, 70s or 60s? Same for RC and LG. Has anyone seen circle, pattern, or just weird games in any of the flex tests?

If I get a test like 72.85.or

86 I will literally cry.

I'm taking the Jan flex and usually score between -3 or worst -5 on games. I know I have the capacity to get to -1/-0 and want to maximize this before my test!

To all you high scorers: wondering if there are any particular games that you would recommend focusing on and exhausting? I'm pretty good at in and out (I've exhausted the CD game and feel quite confident with the logic behind it) I am now going to be focusing on sequencing and grouping games.

I am also wondering how you confront the feeling of nerves from a setup you've never seen before. I tend to freak myself out as soon as I see a misc game and start to shoot myself in the foot lol

Please let me know if you have any advice for me :)

Total side note: i tanked on PT 84 and just feel like there is no way to be consistent in RC (which is what inspired this post) let me know if anyone else thought 84 was particularly difficult lol

Hello everyone,

This thread so everyone can post their problems and solutions to equipment testing here.

For Chrome:

I ran the test, my internet passed and my system checked out as well. However, my mic and webcam were not checked green. Even though I can see my web cam was working.

What was the issue?

Apparently it couldn't measure the width or height of the camera, for the mic, it didn't even show what the issue was.

Did everything as described and still was not working.

For FireFox:

I installed firefox ran the test everything checked out. But, there was 1 issue.

The system check sign did not turn green.

Apparently, friefox has a setting where it disables websites from identifying your system info. Firefox calls this "fingeprinting".

Here is the link if you want to know more about fingerprinting and how to disable it:

https://superuser.com/questions/1578303/i-keep-failing-the-proctoru-testing-your-equipment-test-and-i-dont-know-why

Anyways

So my final result is that my, mic, webcam, internet and system, all checkout. Albeit, in different browsers.

If anyone figures the issue with Chrome, please post it. It will help the community greatly. f

Let's use this thread to help each other out and lower the stress levels.

Best of luck to everyone with the test.

I am unsure whether the flex will still be administered when I sign up to take the exam (aiming to take it april-may)

Should i be studying on print outs of the questions, or should i stick to the virtual questions, which would simulate the flex lsat more accurately?

Tips on switching between paper/virtual lsats?

I did a system check on ProctorU and my only 'failed' result was this: "RAM usage:

Maximum RAM usage is 90%. Your current RAM usage is 97%." I don't understand the jargon used to explain why this is aspect of the system test failed. Has anyone else experienced this? And, will this impact me on 'game-day'?

Thanks a ton,

Hey All,

I'm approaching the final 3 months (hopefully lol) of my journey and I'm wondering if I should be taking my full length exams in LawHub or 7sage? I want to take the exam in conditions that are as close to the actual exam but I'm sacrificing the all the cool BR/Data aspects of 7sage?

What do y'all suggest?

So I'm a bit confused on this whole situation and was wondering if others were experiencing the same thing. This is my first LSAT Flex so I didn't receive on official email from LSAC on creating a ProctorU account or scheduling the time but I was wondering how to create an account anyway to test my equipment on the ProctorU site. I read from reddit that you could create an account with LSAC acer (I'm not sure if I spelled that correctly) so I tried it and it worked. Then I saw from the discussions that were going on here that a few people had already scheduled a time slot with their ProctorU account so I tried it on my account and was able to schedule for 6:00 pm KST on the 19th. I'm not totally sure if this is official since I didn't follow the procedures that LSAC would send me by email. I'm going to check the email and make sure that I really did get the time scheduled but I was just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing.

I see a lot of posts out there that are kind of like guides to tackling specific question types so I thought I would post my own about SA questions. What I remember quite vividly from studying SA questions is someone saying that if you're aiming for a really high score, SA questions should be freebies. He said this because SA questions, along with MBT questions, are the most formulaic LR question type.

Key points to tackling SA questions:

Dissect the stimulus

A crucial part of getting SA questions right is to fill the missing piece that connects the premise(s) in the stimulus to the conclusion in order to make the argument valid. In order to get a clearer picture of this bridge that is needed, one needs to clearly identify what the premises are and what the conclusion is.

Identify the Bridge

In basically every SA question (probably most LR questions in general) there will be a gap in the argument. The argument will conclude something, while not having VALID support from the premises. For SA questions, we need to find something that will sufficiently bridge this gap and if inserted, will make the argument VALID. No if ands or buts, the correct AC will (in combination with the premises) make the argument a valid argument.

Simple Framework:

For example:

Premise A

Premise B

Therefore Conclusion

To make this argument valid we either need:

If A --> Conclusion (or the contrapositive)

If B --> Conclusion (or the contrapositive)

Example 2:

Mark has been sick and has not been able to go to soccer practice for the past week.

It rained today so the field will be wet.

Therefore, Mark will lose the game tomorrow.

How did this argument conclude that Mark will lose the game tomorrow just because he missed practice and the field is wet. In order to bridge this argument and make it valid, we need something like:

If Mark doesn't go to soccer practice for a week --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow.

If the field is wet --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow.

One point I want to emphasize is that we don't necessarily need "If Mark doesn't go to practice for a week --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow". If we had something that said "If Mark doesn't go to practice for one day --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow" this would also work!

We can even create bridges from the fact that Mark has been sick and that it rained.

If Mark is sick --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow.

If it rains --> Mark will lose the game tomorrow.

Tips to Identifying the Bridge:

Look for stronger ACs

In general, we are looking for stronger ACs since they are able to directly send you from the premises to the conclusion.

For example, what if there was a AC like this:

Sometimes if the field is wet, Mark doesn't play very well

This statement doesn't take you directly to the conclusion. Sure, sometimes when its wet Mark doesn't play very well, but does that mean he WILL/FOR SURE lose the game tomorrow?

If there is a new term introduced in the conclusion that wasn't mentioned in the premises, look for an AC that incorporates this new term.

Be very suspicious if there is a new term introduced in the conclusion. In this argument, how would we ever get to conclude that x will y if x is never brought up in the premises. The AC needs to incorporate x (or a set that includes x) in order for us to conclude ANYTHING about x.

These are just a few things that has helped me get better at SA questions and I hope this helps out anyone else!

I was wondering if you all had any tips on how to stay engaged when reading long texts for the LSAT flex. When I read on paper I like to use my pen/finger to trace the words to stay engaged with close reading, but I am struggling to find a way to mirror this for the flex.

I'm curious why everyone here is interested in going to law school :)

I'll start– I want money! jk. I had a high school class where we took field trips to meet different professionals and I liked the prosecutors above all. At least on the surface, they all looked happy with their jobs and their work sounded interesting, especially the one in the special victims' unit. I also watch legal dramas, so my understanding of legal work might be a little too romantic.

This is my first LSAT Flex, and I do not know what institution I should pick for my ProctorU account set up? I have tried to pick LSAC or the "Paper and Pen" version, and I keep getting this notice, "This Institution does not permit creating a ProctorU account. Please navigate to your course Learning Management System for scheduling and rescheduling ProctorU reservations."

Can someone please help?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently in the beginning of the course, and I am just curious if you guys showed a large improvement between your diagnostic PT and the first few PT's you took once finishing all the prep lessons offered? Or did most people just show gradual improvement as you took the PT's?

Thanks!

I first registered for the Flex in November, but then after scheduling my November exam time on Proctor U, I decided to change my test date to January.

In November, I received the ProctorU link to create my account and all - they sent me the email with my acct and temporary password. I'm almost positive I created a new password but now I can't get into my account whatsoever. Even worse, when I click "forgot password" it doesn't send me an email, so I have no way of creating a new password.

Do we get new proctor U info if we sign up for a new exam? I technically have never taken a Flex exam, but I definitely signed up for the November exam through Proctor U. Or is something seriously wrong on my part...
