Hey guys I just took a cold diagnostic with no prep and got a 138.... Really disheartened because I'm aiming for atleast 160. I take my test in august. Do you think its possible in 5 months or should I push my test date to later

In the Core Curriculum we learned that “some” implies the possibility of “all.” But in a sentence like, “some of the lumber is cut to exact dimensions, some of it is not,” we have to exclude the possibility of some meaning “all,” is that right? Thanks!

Dear 7sagers,
I started prepping for the LSAT last Month and I plan on taking it in June 2021. I am making progress in all 3 sections and I am optimistic about the multiple choice questions part of the exam which is ultimately what makes up the score.
One thing that I have no idea about is the writing sample. I do not know where to start, how to prep for it, whether there are resources out there for it, its importance for admissions decisions, and its relevance and applicability to the material covered in the other 3 sections. Can anyone point me to a starting point so that I could at least have an idea of what to expect and what to do in preparation?
As an immigrant who moved to the states not so long ago, writing is certainly not one of my strongest suits. This is why I am particularly worried about this section and why I want to make sure I do the best I can to prepare for so that it wont be a hindrance in admissions decisions.
Any advice or recommendations is appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello All,
I'm looking for a general study buddy who intends to take the exam a little later down the road (I'm giving myself ~1 year to study, unless I consistently score a good score beforehand).
I'm also down to meet up in person, if located in SoCal (safely of course), but zoom calls to teach each other, motivate each other, and support one another is what I am most looking for.
Please let me know!
Hello! What are the special test taking features that 7sage offers if you purchase the course? I don't quite understand how that works, and I don't see any contact info to ask questions. You take the test digitally via LawHub, and 7sage tracks the analytics (time spent per question, and the answer choices?) Would like more info on the features.
I started my first attempt to do the Blind Review after trying out many other study methods.
I’m hoping to do the Blind Review in the most effective way or do it appropriately at least.
I would like to ask for advice from those of you who improved score from Blind Reviewing.
Could you share in detail what you did when you do the blind review?
-What do you write out on your note? Other than Question type, your thought on stimulus and each answer choice?
-After making a comparison between your note and J.Y’s explanation videos, how do you revise your note to prevent you from choosing the same wrong answer or from approaching the question in old ways?
How long should I take to do the blind review?
How do you keep up with improving your weaknesses in certain sections while improving the ability to finish the test within a limited amount of time?
-I’m concerned about not doing the timed full test while I try to invest my time in Blind reviewing and Core Curriculum. At the same time, I do not want to waste my time doing PTs by repeatedly making wrong answer choices.
After BR one PT, do you retake the same PT and then try new PT? Should BR method for LR and RC similar to the Fool Proof method for LG?
I would really appreciate your advice.

Hi! I'm taking the LSAT in April, and I'm trying to think ahead to what day/time of day I'll want to take the test when it comes time to sign up. Does anyone have any advice/recommendations? I've read before that it's better to take exams in the morning, but I'm also not a morning person so I'm not sure that's what will be best for me. Would love to hear about other people's experiences with the flex! :)
Edit: I guess it would help if I actually had a typical time of day that I take PTs
166, 160, 166, 162, 151, 163, 170, 149 (First digital LSAT),162 (Jan LSAT), 163 (after a month off), 170, 159, 159, 162
I realize that one has good and bad days, but after getting a 162 on the LSAT while having 170 in the bag I decided to prep for April. I can write off my first score back as a cold start, but the quick jump to 170 and swing back down to the 150s has been soul crushing.
I got that 2nd 170 after starting 7sage and beginning to foolproof a couple of games most days. In the meantime I've been toying with keeping good pace on RC and LR and my scores have plummeted over 10 points.
I thought about taking a break, but after my first 170 the week before the Jan LSAT and my lowest score ever of 149 I took a full 60 hours off of studying but still only scored a 162. A month off after January only got me a 163.
My LG scores go from -0/-3. RC has swung from -2/-9. LR -2/-9
Kind of at a loss for what I should do or focus on.

(1) All bananas are made of atoms. [B–>A]
(2) All non-bananas are made of atoms. [/B–>A]
(1) and (2) are consistent with each other.
The contradiction (must be false statement) to (1) would be some bananas are not made of atoms. [B some /A]
HERE Where I AM CONFUSED!!!
But contradiction of all (B are A) is (not A not B) , hence (A is not B) is acceptable since we are failing sufficient only, but contrapositive of that is (B is not A) so we can say (B is not A) hence some bananas are not made of atoms. Please help someone.
I just started using 7Sage from two weeks ago, and I'm wondering how other people are using this 7Sage. I started from the beginning, but it's getting really difficult when I came up to different types of questions in LR. There are a lot of problem sets, and doing the same thing over again kind of blow up my mind. So I somewhat left some problem sets for later to solve and went on to other types of questions. Would this be fine? or should I just finish every problem set without going to other question types?
Also, is it necessary to go over the lessons in order? I somewhat want to do LG and RC too, but since the lessons are in order, I feel like I have to go through the lessons in order (also because some of the previous lessons give lots of hints and learning for future lessons.
I want to know how you guys use 7Sage efficiently! Thank you!:)
I have been at it with the games for about 2.5 months now. If it helps, I follow the pacifico strategy. I can do most of PT 1-23 with my worst being around ~5 on time or with time left. However, when I take a new game, even if I know how to complete it, it takes a long time and I end up missing half the questions. Hence, my timing is the same as it was when I first started fool-proofing even though I "feel" that my inferencing skills have gotten much stronger. I am trying not "hate" this section, but as someone who doesn't enjoy the games, the apparent ineffectiveness of fool-proofing is extremely frustrating. It feels like a waste of time especially because I have not dedicated as much time to the other sections which I am relatively good at: LR (-7 to -5) and RC(-5 to -2). Also, since I'm shooting for June, I don't think I have time to spend another month on fool-proofing. However, I know I need to get my current -10+ to something much lower to break into my goal score. I am just rambling now but I need suggestions on how to re-approach games. Has anyone tried something better than fool-proofing that has worked?
I really need help understanding why there is any correct answer to this question.
It says that one of John's friends must be lying, but how do we know that that is true since it is possible that John is mistaken and he might actually be unique among his friends.
Couldn't it be possible that John is the person everyone else is referring to?
Hello all!
Please be brutally honest, I scored a 161 in 2019 and have decided to retake this June and October (I'm in Asia currently so these are the only available dates coming up). My goal is 170, but tbh if I can get high 160s I'd be pretty happy too!
Last time I wrote it, I did Khan academy and free 7Sage (and then did the free trial for 2 weeks before my LSAT lol) because honestly I wasn't committed to Law yet and didn't want to spend time or money. Horrible, I know but this time I've fully committed and will be applying this September 100% (to Canadian law schools btw).
My question is, I have about 3 months until June 12th, what should I do?
I bought LSAT trainer, and have started their schedule but it seems rlly chill? They expect about 10-12hrs a week, and I'm assuming this insufficient for making true progress to a 170? How much time do I need to put in daily?
Also I wonder if doing LSAT trainer AND buying 7sage would be repetitive or overkill? I think the reason I started using the LSAT trainer book was because I love writing in it and having a concrete solid object in front of me vs the internet, but I know 7Sage is super effective as well? IDK I'm honestly just really lost on how best to prepare. Also, I'm unsure if I should do a private tutor, or wait until I get my June score and get a tutor for October.
My struggle areas go from RC(-8) > LR(-5/-6) > LG (-4) based on the 2019 LSAT.
Thanks for reading all this, I'm clearly a hot mess rn but want to get my shit together! TIA
Hi all,
I've seen some chatter online about inflated scores this cycle due to the FLEX. Do you think this is true? It does seem like many schools are rejecting/wait listing people who are at or well above the usual median score. If this is the case, what should someone who was originally shooting for a 165-167 try for instead?
How can I take LG in PTs without influencing other sessions, I want to take complete LG questions like the normal exam, but I don't know how to take only the session I want in the PTs, the results and timing without affecting other sessions
As I score higher on my prep tests, my BR score goes down!!
In the beginning I was scoring in the 159-163s but my BR was at a 175 and up. Now I'm scoring in the 164-166s but my BR is a 167-171!! It's so weird! Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm wondering if I'm just really doubting myself so I change my answers? But I have also been getting more questions than usual wrong in both the real test and BR. I used to only get 2 completely wrong, and now its 4-6. Help!! I just don't know what's going on or what to do lol.
What's unusual is I'm missing lower than ever in LR and RC, ~ -3 in both areas. This is where I'm having my problem. I'm missing lower than ever, BUT I still miss the questions in BR, and then I change the answer of questions I got right to the wrong one during BR.
I hope this makes sense. If anyone can relate or help....pls
I just cant figure logic games out under times conditions. I keep getting 7-10 wrong every test, and if i can just master them i will have the score i need.
Does anyone have any tips they could help me with?
How can I retake a preptest that I've already taken?
In the "take preptest" section I can see the results from my first take, but don't see any way to retake..?
I've noticed the importance that is placed on foolproofing on 7sage but one thing that i keep getting stuck on is the amount of games that the core curriculum gives and how long it would take to properly foolproof them.
What is the best way to efficiently foolproof without having to forfeit the time necessary for the other two sections? Should I just foolproof the games from my practice tests? Pick them out randomly from cc?
any advice would be appreciated!
Is there a difference in the number/type of analytics you get with a free account versus a paid subscription? I only have a free account but would like to know what other analytics I'd get if I purchased a subscription.
Regarding one of the core lessons, not all/ some not.
https://classic.7sage.com/lesson/advanced-negate-all-statements/?ss_completed_lesson=1055
I am still confused.
Why does some not cover 0-99? Why from 0?
Isn't it supposed to be 1-99?
From the example sentence,
Some cats are not pretentious.
It seems odd if it means, "0 cats are not pretentious"
Could you help me understand this?
Thanks.
For games, I have just recently started to reach the harder games in the curriculum and have only practiced maybe less than 10 games. But I noticed that for some of the harder games, I have no clue how to setup the diagram. Is this ability to recognize how to diagram a game come after going through a good number of games and explanations or am I missing something? I feel like I am wasting games by watching the explanations.
Thank you in advance!
Im scoring in the 148s really want to push to 155. Want someone, or group to study with daily till April's test.
is it just me or are you guys also unable to click on the preptests?
was just about to take one so i'm a bit triggrd but :/ hope it gets figured out soon
I am registered for April, but right now I am having second thoughts about sitting for it since I am not scoring where I want to.
Will schools see if I withdraw from the test? Also I tried to move it to June, but my coupon expires in April so it won’t let me move it to June. I’ll just register again and pay the regular amount, which is fine.
Also will schools see how often you’ve moved your test date around?
