Hi guys

for the personal statement, do you think its okay to write about having anxiety and overcoming it as well as how it helped shape you into who you are today? i also make it clear that i do not struggle with it anymore, bc i know ive seen things where people say they might be biased against that

thank you!

So without going into too much detail, there was an AC yesterday on my LSAT that said something along the lines of "Politician A's campaign called all supporters prior to the debate and urged them to call the radio station regardless of who won the debate" Do we have to assume that supporters will call the radio station? I ended up choosing another one because i felt like that was too big of an assumption because i think most people wouldn't listen and follow through. Or maybe I am making a bigger assumption?

Can someone help explain this question to me? It's the first LR question I haven't been able to understand, even after blind review and review. I chose answer choice B.

Good afternoon everyone,

I had a quick question about C&F formatting. I have to disclose two incidents and wanted to know if I should separate them by pages, or by headers/ titles? Neither one fills a page but was wondering if I should put them on separate pages regardless

  • The meeting CANNOT begin UNLESS at least six people are present
  • Since there are two indicator words- cannot and unless, how should I go about logically mapping this out? They both imply opposite things. Cannot indicates some kind of necessary condition while unless indicates the sufficient. I mapped it out as /6-->B but the answer is actually B-->6 or /6-->/B. I guess Im confused because JY had us do specific processes for each of these indicating words.

The key point is you can immediately rescheduled the exam time by chatting with live representative of ProctorU, do not try to email or call to LSAC, which is a recommendation if you want to reschedule immediately within this round, and also when the final exam time is not yet expired.

    While my tragedy is,

I'm taking LSAT-Flex first time, I scheduled my August LSAT-Flex at 10:20AM PDT of Sep.2 which is today, though I'm personally at CA, my residential community is couple of miles away from the wildfire, that's the reason why when viewed the information about reschedule due to wildfire, I never thought I need to, and then is the nightmare beginning. I logged into the ProctorU around one hour earlier, and everything seems great, the timing clock counting well, when the time arrived at about 10:00AM PDT, I noticed the timing clock showed over 50 mins left, I'm curious whether they may change the scheduled time due to some reason? After ten mins later, I finally realized there is no internet because my other opened website showed so, even though ProctorU timing clock still counting. I started to repeatedly retart the internet and check out with Xfinity who said there is routine maintenance from 9:41AM to expected available until 3:30PM today, fine, no notice in advance as usual. When I fortunately connect computer via my hotpot from cellphone, the start icon disappeared.

At this moment, I'm kind of depression and almost cannot control my emotion, but my conscious told me it's not the right time, so I tried email LSAC firstly and keep calling them as well as tried to click the reschedule icon to find out available time, finally I tried to transfer to chat with ProctorU live representative through their chat window, and that's the right path. Christian is the live representative helped me to rescheduled another time for me at 3:40PM PDT immediately, and also told me if the Xfinity do not work as expected, the hotpot maybe fine as well. When story arriving at this section, there is only around 1 hour left for the new scheduled exam, I began to buy a couple of different extra data package for my cellphone from T-mobile (if someone knows which service provided by T-mobile is great for hotpot, please tell me, thank you so much), but no one good enough for the needed internet speed, still hoping Xfinity will back in time. BTW, I also called the nearby public library while they already closed at 2PM, and no one answer from the leasing office, then stay at home is the choice.

However, Xfinity did not keep it's promise whose notice changed to "back as soon as possible" when I check again at 3:30PM, and my hotpot was unable to support system running, missed the start again. When I chat with live representative again for this situation, due to I cannot promise when I can have stable internet before 4:00PM PDT today, though he can connect me with proctor directly, but the risk is the disconnection maybe at anytime after the exam start, my better choice is to request an extension from LSAC. This time I face the life. Ironically, Xfinity back at around 4:40PM, good for them.

Hoping this sharing is helpful for anyone needed, and good luck for you all. Still waiting response from LSAC either email or phone, thank you for your time.

I am wondering if anyone would like to do an exchange proofreading of Personal Statements. I proofread yours and give you my thoughts. You proofread mine and give me your thoughts. I feel like it just helps to have a second set of eyes look over it. If anyone is up for that, message me!

Does anyone have a good RC strategy?

My LR is around +22 on average. I just completed my LG strategy attack and I'm now getting +17 versus my previous +13. I'm still working on my accuracy with LG but now am incorporating RC into the mix before I take a practice test sometime this month. I'm taking about 10 minutes per passage + questions, which I know is too long, and I'm missing 10 questions on the whole section generally so clearly my 10 minutes per passage isn't time well spent.

If anyone knows of a method similar to @"Cant Get Right" LG strategy attack but for RC, please share!

    Thanks!

I’m taking the October test, and I’ve been really focused on getting a lot of PTs in since I’ve only done 9 so far. I’ve been taking 2 PTs per week, with an extra two days dedicated to reviewing my PTs. LG is by far my worst section, I’m averaging -8 (LR -5 RC -6) and it’s really bringing my score down. I foolproof games from previous tests on the days that I don’t PT/review, but I’m not sure if 3 days of foolproofing is enough a week. I’m scared that if I don’t spend enough time focusing on PTing, though, that I won’t get the practice I need before my test. Does anyone have recommendations on how I should distribute my time with a month left to study?

So I have taken the June 2007 Preptest twice. The first time I took it was over a month ago (I didn't know about 7Sage yet) and I just printed it out on paper and completed it on paper. The second time was part of the week 1 7sage schedule and I scored 5 points less, despite about 3 weeks of studying methods from the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim. Can anyone reassure me that taking the exam/reading on a screen can impact your score if you're used to paper exams and do you have any tips on how to overcome this?

I took the LSAT today and I realized that I misdiagrammed one of the games entirely. It could be the case that I still got a couple of them right, but I am trying to decide whether I cancel my score or not.

I have a 169 from the July LSAT, and I was hoping to submit applications after receiving this score back. I am worried that if I missed all the questions from one game, I might not get a score higher than 169. I want a score in the 170's. If I cancel my score or if I get a score at or below 169, and take again in November (October deadline has passed), I worry about my application being turned in a month and a half later than when I had planned to turn it in. I also worry about committees seeing that I took the test three times in one year.

    Any advice is welcome!

    Hi all,

I realize this is probably a silly question but I'm a first-time test-taker and I'm a bit confused. Can you choose which LSAT score you send to schools, or will they see the scores of all of your attempts? I ask this because I don't really see the point in paying for a "score preview" if you are able to choose which score to send. Why would you cancel a score for a test you paid for? Wouldn't you want to see how you did, regardless of how poorly you may have done? Thanks in advance! :)

    Hey 7Sagers!

I am reaching out through this forum to ask for some advice. I am a Canadian student and I wrote the LSAT-Flex in July 2020. I scored a 171, but now I am wondering if I should rewrite.

Here are some facts about my case:

  • I'm aiming to apply for top 7 American law schools.
  • I have two undergraduate degrees (GPA 3.96 and 3.7 respectively) and now I am working on my master degree (will finish in Spring 2022).
  • I would not apply until Fall 2021 to attend in 2022.
  • So my question is essentially should I rewrite the LSAT to get a better score? Am I being unrealistic with my target schools with this score?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

    Hi guys -

Since the Flex will only count 3 sections (75 questions I'm guessing), do we have an idea of how this scale will work? Roughly, do we know how many can one get wrong in order to still score a 170, 165, 160, etc.

Past Flex-takers, please weigh in if you know anything since you've received your scores!

Hi Guys! I keep taking LSAT practice tests and my score remains the same - 140. I really want to take the LSAT in November as I am already registered, is 2 month enough time to raise my score to a 155? Does reviewing practice tests help a lot in increasing scores? I am getting the hang of logic games pretty well and reading comprehension I am not worried about. The logical reasoning section is really hard for me. Does anyone have any tips? I really want to start applying for law school but I feel like I will never reach my goal. HELP!

I took the August LSAT a few days ago and am planning on retaking it in October just to be safe. Should I apply as soon as possible, even if I don't know all of my scores yet, or submit at the end of October once I know both scores?

I just applied to a few law schools today. I'm already feeling anxious about waiting for decisions. I know I most likely won't hear back for months.

If any of you have applied to law school in the past, when did you hear back? Also, if anyone has any advice on how to relax while waiting, I'd love to know!

For some reason, I'm having a lot of trouble with Main Point questions for RC. I read about a strategy that involved trying to identify how many paragraphs the AC for a Main Point question encompasses to help narrow down between several options.

However, I've just run into an issue with PT 74 RC Passage 2 Question 9, where the correct AC completely skipped a paragraph in which the author laid out several reservations regarding the effectiveness of a technique he discussed in the rest of the passage. I had eliminated that AC on my first passed using the passage structure technique, so I'm skeptical that it's a good approach.

I'm curious about I) how much a correct AC can overlook for main point questions? 2) any suggestions or techniques you might have for choosing between two answer choices for RC when stuck.

    Thanks!
