Hi guys,

I recently noticed that I continue to go -3 and -4 on each LR section either untimed or timed and BR'ed. These questions tend to be 4 and 5 star questions. Since a few months ago, I used up a few PTs (43 - 49) doing untimed work to increase my focus in reading carefully the question stem, stimulus, and answer choices. I noticed that prior to this, I was slacking off on being explicit with what the assumptions used on the argument is, and prephrasing the answer choice.

In this regard, I definitely made improvements (went -5 and -6 per each LR section previously). I do not gloss over words/sentences as much and feel more attuned to important details. But still, I am still getting -3 and -4 wrong on each LR section, which is discouraging. My goal is to go -1 per LR section timed, so 0 untimed.

I plan on using the 7Sage Analytics to identify any recurring question types from PTs 43 - 49, revisiting the CC for those question types, and making drill packets from PTs 7 - 49 on those question types.

What do you think about my approach? Would you recommend that I continue to do untimed work as I mentioned above, or continue doing what I was doing and use up a few more PTs (50 - 55) for untimed LR sections as well? I don't think it's a good idea to go back to timed LR sections with BR at the end, seeing that my untimed score is not good enough.

Thanks for your input!

Good evening all,

For some reason I can't access any PrepTests. Fortunately I am done with the LSAT, but I forgot that I had to do a writing sample (lol), so I just came on to look at a few previous writing sections. My account is set to expire in 4 days and the message that I get when I try to access tests is that I am not linked to an LSAT Prep Plus account. I never had this issue/this message never came up before and I was using preptests on this site long after the transition to the LSAC Prep Plus stuff. I am wondering if anyone can help me clear up this issue?

Thanks!!

We are very proud of 7Sage's Admissions Consultant, Shruti Swamy, whose new collection of short stories is out! See below for more details.

A House Is a Body: Stories

Dreams collide with reality, modernity with antiquity, and myth with identity in the twelve arresting stories of A House Is a Body. In "Earthly Pleasures," a young painter living alone in San Francisco begins a secret romance with one of India's biggest celebrities, and desire and ego are laid bare. In "A Simple Composition," a husband's professional crisis leads to his wife's discovery of a dark, ecstatic joy. And in the title story, an exhausted mother watches, hypnotized by fear, as a California wildfire approaches her home. Immersive and assured, provocative and probing, these stories reveal small but intense moments of beauty, pain, and power that contain the world. A House Is a Body introduces a bold and original voice in fiction, from a writer at the start of a stellar career.

Hi all, I was wondering about getting a small group together to give each other some unbiased feedback on our personal essays for those of us applying to law school this fall. This would cover anything personal essay related depending on where each of us are at in the process--- helping each other narrow down topics, revising for narrative, and editing for clarity and grammar. I imagine we would end up going over multiple different versions of the same essays over the next few months, but it depends on how many people are interested and where they are at.

EDIT: Feel free to join the groupme to ask questions or find/give revision help! https://groupme.com/join_group/61203662/wGCnVIHU

I took the July flex and didn't score as well as I wanted to so I'm retaking in October. Should I wait until after my October score is released to apply? A friend said I should apply as early as possible but if I apply before October only my bad score will be on file...

Is answer choice E incorrect because of the second half that reads, "unless manufacturers would reap large benefits..."

Also, I didn't really understand why C is the correct answer here. C seems to imply that the manufactures are in fact being deceptive which is what the consumer advocate is trying to prove. I tagged the first sentence in the manufacture's dialogue as the conclusion for the manufacture, and again answer choice C seems to go against this.

I would really appreciate any help with trying to figure out where I went wrong.

I have been consistently writing down explanations of LR questions I got incorrect (and many I got correct) in an attempt to improve my speed and understanding. I’ve been working on this for a over month, and I just cannot seem to finish a section on time with accuracy. I almost always score -4 going 5 minutes over time (working through the 50’s and 60’s PT sets). Ideally, I would like to be scoring -2 with a few minutes to spare, and I’m concerned that I won’t be able to get there in time for the October LSAT. Any tips or advice would be highly appreciated 😔

So I'm at the point in my studies where my BR score for LR (both sections) is consistently very low (-1, -1, -4, -2, -2) on my last 5 PTs but my timed score has lagged significantly (-6, -5, -7, -4, -7).

Part of what has been frustrating me is that I typically finish an LR section with plenty of time to spare (10-5 minutes left) but it just seems that I am never able to allocate those last minute effectively - I will confirm a wrong AC or two (that I'll then get right in BR w/o the time pressure) I'll go back to questions that I got correct that I probably shouldn't be double-checking, etc.

I'm aiming for low-mid 170s so I don't expect my BR to become my timed score and I'm not shooting for perfect either but I'ld like to get a better grasp on how to allocate the remaining time that I have bought with being so efficient on the 1st round.

I'm spending this week on drilling full LR sections in the 70s (already done these so I'm not burning fresh PTs in case any one is wondering). I'm trying to track 1) how much time I have left at the end of the section 2) how many wrong ACs I end up switching to right (and vice-versa). Should I also be tracking how many questions I unnecessarily go back to? What else should I be tracking?

In addition, I'm continuing to drill weaknesses that I found and really 'full-proof' out questions that I missed the day before to cover any gaps and familiarize myself with the feel of the newer questions.

Any thoughts? How have other people improved this?

Hey all,

I'm taking the August LSAT. As a backup plan, I am considering enrolling in the October LSAT as well. Does anyone know what the refund policy is for the LSAT. If I feel like I did well on the August LSAT, it would be cool if I could get a refund for the October LSAT.

I feel so defeated. Someone please help me with RC. I cannot improve no matter what I do. Its holding me back from getting a good score and I am losing hope. Any tips are greatly appreciated

Hey guys!!! I feel like i really need some accountability. I have finished the course material and have done a lot of PT but i feel like my graph has gotten flat now plus i'm losing motivation. I'm aiming for a 170+ score so the next one month is going to be HARD CORE. Lemme know if you want to go crazy with me. Fierce girl power is ON.

I'm in IST time zone so having someone around this timezone would be perfect BUT i am open to adjust honestly.

I speak fluent English. :)

Hi friends,

My name is Tyler. I've found that studying for the LSAT alone has become a bit grueling, to say the least. I've been using 7sage for the past 3 weeks and am ~20% completed with the core curriculum. Scored a 140 on my cold PT, but i'm determined to hit 160 by early October. I'm hoping to put together a small study group of 3-5 people that are at a similar stage in their journey. If you're in need of some support, drop your email address below.

I'll be sending out an email early this week to coordinate schedules/meeting times. I'm thinking we can hold a zoom meeting once or twice a week to talk through challenges, learnings, experiences, etc. More detailed outlines to come...I look forward to meeting all of you and conquering this exam together!

As an FYI, I'm on PST just in case that's a dealbreaker for any of you.

Hi guys LR is my most consistent section but it seems like the questions I always get wrong are flaw questions. I’ve already been over the flaw curriculum in 7Sage so many times and still having issues anyone know any other resources for those types or advice? Also for those of you taking the flex at the end of this month are you changing up your studying since it’s getting close? I’ve decided to simulate flex tests as much as possible just to get used to the timing and flow because like I said LR is my saving grace so now I have to make sure I’m quicker and better in LG and RC since I won’t have the extra LR points to rely on.

Any tips on RC? I’ve improved but still my worst section. If u have noticed any patterns in wrong/right answer choices for RC please tell me my brain gets the LR ones but still not as good in RC really could use tips like desperately haha

I have been struggling with PSA questions. I am averaging -3 on LR section and most of the time the questions I get wrong have been PSA. So far, I've been through the PSA lessons provided by 7Sage and have seen some improvement, but it still seems like something just isn't clicking. Its hard to pin-point what I'm doing wrong in terms of approach and would really appreciate any insight on others' approaches.

I'm currently an undergrad student and I've been studying for the LSAT very seriously since Feb 2020. I've done the CC and have been practice testing since June. I've taken about a month off from studying because I had a full-time internship that took up my whole day. I'm signed up for the August LSAT and was wondering if anyone had advice on how to quickly get back in the groove of things?

For context: Scoring in low 170s and want to be around that range for test day -- thanks!

Does anyone know when we can sign up a time slot for August FLEX? I saw someone saying that the LSAC sent an email, saying that they will receive another email regarding the time slot sign up in mid-August, but I didn't receive that email. I just called the LSAC and they said they didn't know exactly when the email was going to be sent, they just knew it would be somewhere in mid-August. No further information was provided. So basically we are going to receive the email one day, and then we can sign up. Then how do we make sure to sign up as soon as the email arrives? It's very weird. Can anyone share how FLEX time slot sign up works in previous North American FLEX? Thanks a lot!

I took the June LSAT Flex and decided to take a few months off from studying afterwards. I want to retake as I did not get the score I had hoped. However, I don't even know where to start! Do I jump right back in to practice tests again? Or go over the entire curriculum again?

Thanks for any advice about what has worked or not worked for you!

Can someone explain why answer choice D would not weaken this argument? Is it because it directly attacks the premise stated that businesses value their profits? Is saying they treat the "fines" as a business expense essentially saying they do not value their profit because they are not remedying the problem? #help
