Hey all,

As many of you know my application cycle did not go very smoothly. One of the biggest obstacles I faced during this process was the LSAC. My transcripts from about 10 years ago underwent a change after I spoke to the Dean of my old community college. She enrolled me in an academic renewal policy that removes all credit attempted and calculated for grades given at the college. I re-submitted my transcripts to the LSAC, because based on their posted policy at the time my GPA should have been significantly improved. (2.8 - 3.1)

I fought with them for months, filled out forms they had for me, updated schools of my situation, put my applications on hold, and ultimately I truly believe this is what landed me on all the wait-list as I still have not been able to send a final update to the schools as to what the outcome will be.

I fought very hard against the LSAC because I knew their policy was wrong. I filed a complaint with the BBB and during the correspondence there they continued to reviel that they did not understand their own policy. The contradicted themselves multiple times, and I even received an E-mail from the BBB agent that stated she saw their inconsistency and left the complain as "unresolved".

I brought all this to a lawyer, who believed I 100% had a case against them. Their policy was wrong, and they were holding it against me. It was up to them to change their policy, but they DID hold my applications back. He advised me not to litigate though because he thought they'd appeal me to hell. I'm still unsure if I will purse this.

Some good has come out of this however, the LSAC HAS UPDATED their entire transcript summerization policy due to my persistence. While the LSAC has ultimately crushed my dreams and hampered all my hard work, I have at least ensured that it wont happen to someone else.

(failing grades, and grades to be excluded are totally different now)

https://www.lsac.org/aboutlsac/policies/transcript-summarization

Their new policy explicitly excludes me from having my grades changed now, and replaces ALL the wording I pointed to that showed them why it should be changed.

It's a hallow victory, I am sitting on a ton of waitlists now and I really do contribute it to this. Especially after e-mailing schools to put my applications on hold for almost a month.

Just know, you should NEVER back down. You should always fight for yourself. Always fight for what is right, even if it doesn't help you know it can help someone else later.

I plan on staying on 7Sage, especially if I don't get off a waitlist. I hope to help and get you to realize some of your dreams as well. Keep up the hard work 7Sagers.

Hey Everyone,

I am curious. Will any of you be working FT during law school? If so, how do you plan on tackling/managing working FT and going to law school PT? I've heard a few people advise that you should not work at all your first year of law school, but honestly, that is not going to be an option for me. Is any one else facing this situation?

Has anyone here ever come back to LSAT studying after a long break? I'm talking, several months. I'm definitely rusty and it's kind of freaking me out at the moment.

I took the December test (Dec 2), and then set everything aside. Took a PT once in January just to test the retention and I got the exact same score as I did on the December test, so I felt pretty good about retaining things. Then focused on applications, life, etc. Now that I made the decision to retake and reapply, I'm back to studying and planning on retaking in June (and maybe September) to try to boost my score a bit.

I took a PT cold a couple weeks ago to see where I'm at and scored a couple points lower. Not a huge deal, but I bombed games (-7 instead of my average -2ish). Did about my average on LR and surprisingly well on RC to balance the LG. My BR was terrible though. It was higher than the PT score, but a full 5 points lower than I BR'd any test since like middle of last year. I tried not to panic and have been working on foolproofing LG to try to shake off the dust. Attempted a full LG section last night though and bombed again even harder - didn't even get to the last 2 games. Now I'm really trying not to freak out.

So my assessment is: I've definitely lost my edge on LG. And while I've been scoring ok on LR, my BR of those sections hasn't been nearly as good. Not doing so hot at correcting my mistakes.

Has anyone been through this? Any advice? Any help keeping me from having a panic attack? haha.

I finished the June 2007 test like two days ago, and now I'm in the process of doing BR.

It's just... BR takes so long. I'm doing every question, and it's taking me literally forever. More so because I don't want to do it:/

I just finished BR section 2, which took me like two hours. Wanted to finish the whole thing before grading, but I could feel myself slowly dying so I just graded section 2.

Now, I know BR is really really really important, but I feel like doing cc would be time better spent.

aaaaaarrrrggggghhhhhhhhh.... PT was fun tho...JY's grammar thingy was fun too...

I wanted to share an experience that I had a couple days ago. I got a phone call saying this is IRS and we have a warrant for your arrest. I decided to that I find first by using a reverse lookup on the phone and found out the phone number was scam. I called the number. The IRS won't call you on the first time. They will send you a notice if there is an issue by US mail. Second, they won't demand money over the phone to stop an arrest. Nor do they threaten to thrown you in jail on the phone. Well, the scammer didn't know that I was a law student at one time and studying for the LSAT to get back in law school. It was my saving grace. I decided to tell the scammer. I said my name and he said that is he is IRS agent Jeffery Tribiano. He starting saying I am going to throw you in jail,But, we can stop the arrest by you paying by you going to your bank and wiring the money. I knew the real Jeffrey Tribiano was the deputy director of the Internal Revenue in Washington,DC and wouldn't be working in a call center. Also, the scammer spoke with an Indian accent.

I said before we proceed, I want to put out my disclaimer. The scammer wanted to know what was the disclaimer. I said, "You know you are in possible violation of the RICO statue 941. 18 U.S.C. 1343—Elements of Wire Fraud. I used the logic of LSAT and my legal skills to take the scammer apart for 5 whole minutes. I said," Now, we are going to do a 3 way call with a real FBI agent. Then, I am going to put you on hold for 2 minutes while I talk to the FBI about your violation of the statute for wire fraud. I will release the hold and you can explain to him or her why you insist going through with what you are planning. Also, you know that the agent can place a trace where you are calling from. I am sure they will be interested in what you have to say and why you want to go through with the fraud. Now, you have to ask yourself if you feel real luckily. The scammer was feeling scared and gave up. The scammer hung up from being scared. The politically correct thing is these days is lay down and let people run you over. I decided that political correctness was not going to stop people like this and it would allow it to continue. The bad guys will use political correctness pull more scams and will take it as a sign of weakness. They count on it. I felt brave and felt like I had won after I reported it actually today.

Hi Everyone,

I am one of the LSAT takers who are working full-time. I graduated with my B.A. around a year ago. I have been working at a Los Angeles law firm since then. The firm is really busy, which is great, but that means that I work a lot of overtime hours. I cannot just quit and focus on LSAT because I am supporting myself and my mom. I am taking the June LSAT and my preptest scores do not represent my abilities.

I am just wondering if say I get 163 on the LSAT and two other students got 168, and those students show they were mainly studying for the LSAT for four months or so. Would the universities consider the fact that I had been working full-time (average of 55 hours) since graduating? I am just struggling with the idea that this test will determine my future, whether in getting into my preferred schools or getting some scholarship money. At the same time, I really find it unfair if a university selects a student who gets a higher LSAT score that I could not achieve because I did not have as much time to study. Btw my undergraduate GPA is 3.86.

Idk I think I am just upset with my preptest scores and wanted to let off some steam.

Hello, I have a quick question.

Do you guys know how to send additional LOR to waitlisted schools?

Should I use the LSAC service? Will they still be able to foward LOR to schools I am waitlisted at?

Hi 7sagers,

I've taken every PT from PT 20 - PT 83 because I've been studying since December 2016. In order to keep studying, I've started re-taking PTs and am scoring substantially higher than when I first took them. This can obviously be attributed to the fact that they're retakes but I am not sure if I can entirely trust these high scores to reflect on test day. At this point I am going to take the test either in July or September as my 3rd take. Essentially what I'm wondering is, how much can I trust these PT scores? It is frustrating that I don't have a single fresh test to check my "true" progress, but I need to work with what I have. I could also take the PT's 20 and under, but I've heard the test has changed so much (gotten harder) since 1996 that I am unsure if that would also be a true reflection of my testing ability. Btw: I am aiming for 170 on the actual test and in these retakes I am hitting 168-170 consistently. Any input and advice is appreciated!

So, I've just finished the instructional videos for the Necessary Assumption lesson. This is the first time since starting JY's lessons that I feel sorta lost. I've gotten ~5-6 of the instructionally-led questions wrong, which is a little disheartening...

Before I hit the practice sets, I want to get a sense of the strategies that are out there for tackling and (eventually) fool-proofing NA questions. That way I can apply them when I'm practicing to figure out which approaches I jive well with.

All tips are appreciated!

Okay so my roommates are graduating law school next week. They asked me about my plans and I told them that I’m taking the July LSAT and will be applying for the Fall 2019 cycle. They told me that sitting out 2 years looks bad to admission teams and that I should just go to the local school (that’s not that great and crazy expensive) and then just transfer to get started. They also said it’s easier to get into where I really want to go if you transfer with strong 1L grades. They recommended this option to me since they used this strategy to get into the best law school in our state. I’m not sure it’s true, but I just want to get some advice and weigh all my options.

Thanks!

So all the sudden I cannot print any of the tests or problem sets. Chrome keeps blocking flash player from running. I have given it permission, changed the setting to not have it ask to run flash but run it automatically but it still keeps blocking the test/problem sets from coming up to print in that drop down box.

Edit: I tried firefox and it won't let me even log in to my account even though I am putting in the right user and password.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi everyone,

I have submitted an application to this one law school about two months ago, but it hasn't get back to me with any official decision yet (not even waitlisted or rejected).

I have email them a LOCI last week, which their office of admissions replied by saying that they will notify the admissions committee of my strong continued interest. But still, no official decision received yet.

Do you guys think I still have a chance to get admitted into this one?

Thanks.

Hi all,

Sorry for not posting this in the question itself. I have premium so I'm not able to access all the explanations.

I’m not understanding the answer to S4 number 4. The problem reads:

I don’t understand why D is right and E is wrong. I do understand the logic of D, but “eradicate” means to kill off entirely. If the black spot and tar spot returned after the pollution decreased, the two diseases were not actually eradicated. For this reason, I selected E, which while imperfect was the only remaining option that strengthened it.

Would love some assistance if anyone can help me out. Thanks! :)

So it seems like for MSS, Main Point, and Weakening/Strengthening there doesn't seem to be much need for using Lawgic language (ex: A some B -> C, therefore A some C). However, when it comes to validity, MBT/MBF, Sufficient/Necessary Assumption there is a large need for Lawgic language. Should we only use Lawgic language for those types of questions, or is there a strategy for this? Can Lawgic language be used for all questions, or only some (in the name of efficiency)?

Hi All!

I’m slightly freaking out...I’ve been relentlessly preparing for the June LSAT and I’ve been so busy working and studying that I missed the deadline to register, and now I don’t know what to do. Is there a wait list I can get on to take it ? Or a late registration fee I can pay? I really didn’t want to go another month to wait and take it in July :(

I have only completed two preptests (yes i realize I am extremely behind for someone writing in June). I intend to write 3 a week from now until June 11. I just wrote my second preptest the other day and I scored a 154 (I was disappointed because in timed individual sections I was scoring in the low 160s). However, the next day I blind reviewed all the questions I had circled and I scored a 166. It was bittersweet because I was excited to know that I have more in the tank but also frustrated when I look at how large the gap is knowing that I have about five weeks left to prepare. I guess the purpose of me coming on here is I wanted to know if anyone was able to significantly narrow the gap between their PT score and BR score and if they have tips for doing that. Ps. I cannot postpone writing the LSAT. My personal and financial situation does not grant me that option so it's now or never kinda thing. So advice that I can use within the next month would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all! June is approaching fast and I keep thinking about taking mental breaks from the LSAT to refresh. I typically go on a run or hang out with some friends. However, when I do this, my next PT/Drill session is the worst! It's like I completely forgot about all of my lessons. I try to do some warm up problems before I take a PT but even then, I find myself re-watching CC videos. Any advice to take a mental break without forgetting things?

I'll likely be in China this coming fall, and I might need to retake depending on how June/July works out for me.

I've noticed that China has three testing centers - Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. I was wondering if any of you have had an experience at one of these testing centers. They're all within 1 days travel, so I'd like to register for one that has good reviews.

If anyone's taken it in China I'd be super interested to hear about your experience.

So I'm on 9 waitlists right now, wondering when they start moving typically? My understanding is that may 1 is a big day for deposits, so lots of schools are getting an idea for who's committing or not and therefore, in theory, should be letting some waitlisters in soon?

Has anyone gotten in off a waitlist yet this cycle? Or have experience from past years and want to chime in??
