Hello 7sagers,

I am currently waitlisted at my first choice law school. I visited the school in March and met with the assistant director of admission. She and I had a great conversation when I visited the school- I told her why I wanted to go to this law school and that I took the lsat a couple times to get a score that satisfied the school's requirement etc. She told me to keep in touch, and we've emailed each other maybe three times since.

I had already sent her my LOCI in April when I found out about being on the wait list, and she told me via email that the school will start reaching out to the wait list candidates in early May. I'm a little nervous I haven't heard anything yet.

Should I send her another LOCI sometime this week? I don't know if sending another LOCI would be too much? My lsat score meets the school's range, but my GPA is slightly lower (GPA- 3.3). I wanted to explain this situation to the school?

I worked as a TV reporter a week after graduating from college. I spent majority of my junior and my senior years of college working with various tv stations to work on my audition reels because I thought working as a TV journalist was the only thing I wanted to do. I also worked part time jobs to pay for books, etc in my junior year. So my focus in college was to obtain multiple, various internships instead of trying to make all A's in my classes (but now, I wish I had).

I'm wondering if I should send an additional short LOCI (one page) explaining my GPA? The assistant director told me in March when I visited that my LSAT score met the school's range but that my GPA was slightly low. So, I'm thinking my GPA is probably the big reason why I was put on the wait list, and that's why I wanted to see if it might be a good idea to send an additional LOCI sometime this week? Or, is this sending a second LOCI too much?

Thank you all for your time reading this. I'm getting anxious, and I wanted to seek your advice.

Bad week?

I really blew a PT this week. Like.. 6 points off bad. But my BR is staying high. Does this seem to happen to others very often? For reference, it has been a really rough week between school and finals posting, car issues, etc. Thinking maybe I should forget it since the BR was still great and move on... Thoughts?

I wanted to share an experience that I had a couple days ago. I got a phone call saying this is IRS and we have a warrant for your arrest. I decided to that I find first by using a reverse lookup on the phone and found out the phone number was scam. I called the number. The IRS won't call you on the first time. They will send you a notice if there is an issue by US mail. Second, they won't demand money over the phone to stop an arrest. Nor do they threaten to thrown you in jail on the phone. Well, the scammer didn't know that I was a law student at one time and studying for the LSAT to get back in law school. It was my saving grace. I decided to tell the scammer. I said my name and he said that is he is IRS agent Jeffery Tribiano. He starting saying I am going to throw you in jail,But, we can stop the arrest by you paying by you going to your bank and wiring the money. I knew the real Jeffrey Tribiano was the deputy director of the Internal Revenue in Washington,DC and wouldn't be working in a call center. Also, the scammer spoke with an Indian accent.

I said before we proceed, I want to put out my disclaimer. The scammer wanted to know what was the disclaimer. I said, "You know you are in possible violation of the RICO statue 941. 18 U.S.C. 1343—Elements of Wire Fraud. I used the logic of LSAT and my legal skills to take the scammer apart for 5 whole minutes. I said," Now, we are going to do a 3 way call with a real FBI agent. Then, I am going to put you on hold for 2 minutes while I talk to the FBI about your violation of the statute for wire fraud. I will release the hold and you can explain to him or her why you insist going through with what you are planning. Also, you know that the agent can place a trace where you are calling from. I am sure they will be interested in what you have to say and why you want to go through with the fraud. Now, you have to ask yourself if you feel real luckily. The scammer was feeling scared and gave up. The scammer hung up from being scared. The politically correct thing is these days is lay down and let people run you over. I decided that political correctness was not going to stop people like this and it would allow it to continue. The bad guys will use political correctness pull more scams and will take it as a sign of weakness. They count on it. I felt brave and felt like I had won after I reported it actually today.

Working FT During Law School

Hey Everyone,

I am curious. Will any of you be working FT during law school? If so, how do you plan on tackling/managing working FT and going to law school PT? I've heard a few people advise that you should not work at all your first year of law school, but honestly, that is not going to be an option for me. Is any one else facing this situation?

I’m starting law school in September (in Canada) and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on books to read before starting 1L.

If you also have personal advice about how to handle first year, i would appreciate that too!

Thank you!

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has tips for LG on finding the floaters when you're just hit with a bunch of game pieces, usually like 8+ and then a bunch of rules that may or may not have mentioned these pieces. I know JY says to find the floaters each game, but I find that I'm spending more than I probably should to do this step each game, so if anyone has tips..

In addition, in many of the games, for questions you have to go back to the rules and see if they've been rendered irrelevant or if they trigger, on the videos JY just crosses out etc. But ofc we can't do that on paper, it was suggested that we cover it up with our hands but I find that's unhelpful esp when there's a bunch of rules. So does anyone have tips for some sort of systematic way to keep track of whether each rule was triggered/irrelevant for each question (when the question requires you to go back to the rules ofc not EVERY question) so that we don't just have every rule still staring at us while trying to eliminate those that don't matter. I do try to pare down rules and write them next to the Q when there aren't that many, so again, this Q is more for those games where there are just a ton of rules and you can't afford the time..

thanks so much in advance!

June LSAT takers (especially all you studying LSAT full time) -- what is this last month of studying looking like for you?

How many hours studying

Wake up /bedtime

Gym routine

Time for other stuff

What you're focusing on

etc.

I'm type A, I love to plan so I want to create a plan for this last month of work. I study full time (hence I'm super curious about others studying full time) and idk just want to get ideas for what a healthy routine looks like.

Also as I'm writing this I'm like damn is it normally to be building my life around one test... share your thoughts pls, merci (3(/p)

So all the sudden I cannot print any of the tests or problem sets. Chrome keeps blocking flash player from running. I have given it permission, changed the setting to not have it ask to run flash but run it automatically but it still keeps blocking the test/problem sets from coming up to print in that drop down box.

Edit: I tried firefox and it won't let me even log in to my account even though I am putting in the right user and password.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi 7sagers,

I've taken every PT from PT 20 - PT 83 because I've been studying since December 2016. In order to keep studying, I've started re-taking PTs and am scoring substantially higher than when I first took them. This can obviously be attributed to the fact that they're retakes but I am not sure if I can entirely trust these high scores to reflect on test day. At this point I am going to take the test either in July or September as my 3rd take. Essentially what I'm wondering is, how much can I trust these PT scores? It is frustrating that I don't have a single fresh test to check my "true" progress, but I need to work with what I have. I could also take the PT's 20 and under, but I've heard the test has changed so much (gotten harder) since 1996 that I am unsure if that would also be a true reflection of my testing ability. Btw: I am aiming for 170 on the actual test and in these retakes I am hitting 168-170 consistently. Any input and advice is appreciated!

I'll likely be in China this coming fall, and I might need to retake depending on how June/July works out for me.

I've noticed that China has three testing centers - Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. I was wondering if any of you have had an experience at one of these testing centers. They're all within 1 days travel, so I'd like to register for one that has good reviews.

If anyone's taken it in China I'd be super interested to hear about your experience.

Warming up after a break

Hello all! June is approaching fast and I keep thinking about taking mental breaks from the LSAT to refresh. I typically go on a run or hang out with some friends. However, when I do this, my next PT/Drill session is the worst! It's like I completely forgot about all of my lessons. I try to do some warm up problems before I take a PT but even then, I find myself re-watching CC videos. Any advice to take a mental break without forgetting things?

BRing doesnt take that long for me. I usually only circle 5ish questions a section if that.

This last PT I took, I circled 7 questions in one LR section. I had a few minutes left of the section, so I had time to go back over 4 questions. After going back over them, I felt 100% certain about the AC I originally chose. So I put a cross through the circle to indicate that I actually feel 100% about it and dont feel the need to BR. This left me with only 3 questions to BR. I still BR'd all 7 questions anyways bc I do think it could be a good use of time to keep writing out explanations.

I'm wondering how exactly other people go about BRing. Maybe a better use of that additional/unnecessary(?) time I spent BRing could've been spent on drilling a new LR section or doing some logic games.

I got -0 on the section before and after BR.

Waitlist campaign

Long story short: I have been waitlisted at 5 schools. Sent 2 loci, visited. It's been 3 weeks with no answer. I want to keep in touch. Should I send a quick email? What should I say? Is it appropriate to send a transcript addendum?

After talking with a law school admissions consultant I am second guessing whether the topic of my personal statement, two experiences hiking and camping in the Grand Canyon, is really the best choice. Originally I had planned to write about my undergraduate moot court adventures, but that was mostly because I was under the impression that the personal statement implicitly wanted to know "why law". I'd love to hear from others which direction they would go as well as any insights from their own experience.

"If we can instill the habits of reading things such as “ratios”, "increase”, and “percentages” and still remember that it doesn’t necessarily mean “more” of something, then we will be less likely tricked on the answer choices." - Someone Else

Someone other than myself wrote this as a comment and I made note of it a while back... I've wrestled with it but can someone please explain this to me like I'm five? /explainlikeimfive

Specifically, how is it possible that an increase in something does not necessarily mean more of that thing?
