Hello everyone,

I've been studying for this test for the entirety of this year and have moved from a 142 Diagnostic into the 156-159 range. However my BR scores have gone from the mid 160s into the 172-177 range without any movement in my actual score in months. My weakness used to be LG but recently has shifted to RC but I have an overarching timing problem and never finish with time to spare and often have to guess on entire passages/games.

The December test is probably not going to be enough time to fix my issues so I was looking for some advice is bridging this gap. My BR scores are promising but it's so discouraging to continuously crank out scores in the 150s knowing my potential is much higher.

Hi,

So I was doing LG today and met this substitution question...

In sequence games or games you combine rules do you combine rules as you read new rules or you write them separately so when you have this question you can easily notice which rule is substituted?

I was doing PT 73 game 2 and the last question, and I was not sure between B and E because both seem true :(

Hey guys, so I started studying around June and have been going pretty consistently for about 4+ hours a day since then and I've noticed that I sometimes some neck pains that get pretty bad and result in me having to just stop studying all together for that day. Do things like that happen to you guys after a while of studying? Do you get any kind of physical pain after a lot of studying or is it just me?

Hi all,

The logic game section has been the hardest section for me. As soon as I realized LG kept me from reaching 170+, I have been drilling TONs of games for the past several months. I've done drilling every single game from 1-40 for 6 times + almost all sections in 40s, all sections in 50s, and some sections in 60s (I guess that's about 1500 games). I also analyzed my mistakes by creating review notes.

So now I can finish any game and usually have 5-6minutes left after filling in the bubbles. But the problem is I constantly miss 3-4 questions... The worst part is that the questions that I miss are those that I answered with great confidence. I've thought about redoing questions after finishing the section but I think it's a very risky strategy since I can't expect I would have 5-6minutes left on the test day. Also, because I am certain that I have answered all questions correctly, I don't even know which questions I want to re-do and check my work...I have only one month left till the test day and it's really frustrating...

Does anyone have advice...?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi,

When you do LG do you always have complete, perfect diagram like JY's?

I found I often have diagrams that are incomplete...very similar to JY's but did not have enough inference or did not divide into sub game boards etc.

Does this happen to you or am I just not mature enough on LG yet?

Thanks

Hey! I am currently working on my personal statement and would love some feedback. I am also more than happy to take a look at yours too and do a little switcha-roo!

Am I the only one who from time to time wishes it could just be a research paper....lol

What is the consensus on talking about things not explicitly mentioned in your application? In a discussion about social justice, I have a sentence that goes something along the lines of:

"... I have always been inclined to help when I can. For instance, I spent a year as an ****** at *******, I have grown up serving food at ******, and I have helped organize a demonstration on campus to...."

I have listed the first under the extra-curricular section of my application, but the other two have not been mentioned because (a) I don't have a contact for the second one because I don't go on a consistent basis, and (b) there is not a relevant place for me to mention the third one. Should I just leave these two out, or are they worth keeping in there? If it helps, it is part of a larger discussion about why I want to be a lawyer, and less about listing off my accomplishments.

Hey guys! Hope studying is going well! Recently, since starting 7sage a month ago, I've been making pretty solid progress in terms of going through the curriculum. I aiming for 15-20 hours a week. However, I'm also in school full time, and I have an internship so I've found myself burning out, but not so much because of the studying, but because everything else has been piling up. My study time has decreased a lot. Also, I have fall allergies and I live in the NYC area so it has started to get cold. This has affected my energy levels, and on top of everything else, I find myself fatigued and unable to focus which also lowers my productivity effectiveness while studying. I'm not good when it comes to time management and routines and it's hard for me to stick to them. Any help or tips on how you guys do it? Very interested in your suggestions! Thanks!

Hello friends. I am eyeballs deep in 1L. I just wanted to pop in and say that:

1) Law school is insane but insanely beautiful

2) Enjoy your life before law school (see #1)

Law school is all consuming but I often think of you all with the warmest of feelings. This is helpful as an alternative heat source as it is getting cold in Chicago.

Hi.

Just joined the 7Sage.

I am from India. Currently in my second year of undergraduate studies. Would it be a wise option to pursue law in the US after my undergraduate?

Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

Hello Sages,

I just joined the community quite recently and this is my first post. That being said, I had been PTing using the practice tests from the 40s to the 70s, with just a few more new ones available and with some of them done more than once. I found I have been very inconsistent in the scores I get. I can get low 170s and on the next one go down to low 160s, and when I get low 160s I often bomb different sections, sometimes RC and sometimes LG. Anyone had similar situations? What would be a good way to become more consistent. I registered for the December test, and I'm planning to apply next year. What should I do before the test at this stage. Any advice from you Sages would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone,

My undergrad institution has a co-op program that most undergrads take part in. Starting in sophomore year you have the option to alternate between 6 months of full-time work and then a regular academic semester. So my undergrad career was 5 years, and for 3 of those years I was on co-op January-July then class as normal from Sept.-December.

These gaps are shown on my transcript and reflected on my resume. Will admissions understand this plainly? Or should I write an addendum explaining

How early is too early to get a REC letter. I got one assuming I would be applying early but I am retaking the the LSAT in February. I have a REC on file from late October. Should I get the Professor to resubmit so the time stamp is sooner or keep and use the ones on file. This is all assuming I apply for the Fall 2017 class. Obviously if I delay 1 year I will ask for resubmissions. On that note do new REC letters have to be different in anyway from ones that are on file.....as in can school see the old ones that I have on file with LSAC. Was just going to ask the teachers to resubmit the old ones they previously wrote to save time on both ends.

Admin edit: Please don't post in all caps on your title. I'm sensitive and don't like being yelled at. :c

I'm usually around -6 or -8 for timed sections. Just got a -10 and am beginning to get frustrated because i feel like I understand games pretty well, but then do terrible on the clock. I also basically never ever experience test anxiety (when studying or on test day) - so "pressure" doesn't seem, to me, to be the issue.

anyone else have similar experience? or would anyone have some advice?

thanks

Proctors:

Awful. I had 4 proctors (although I think one was a son of another proctor and not a proctor himself). We sat around for at least 30 minutes before we started filling out the Scantron. The main proctor who was reading the directions was rushing us because we were clearly behind schedule. Then they gave us the wrong Test Center number and we had to wait until the figure out what the correct number is. Then the three other proctors were talking over the timekeeper as she was reading the last timing instructions (you will have 35 mins to complete the section, etc, etc). And then they would not shut up for 2 sections. (I left after section 2 because I lost my focus and bombed RC). They also kept walking around the front of the room and in and out of the room while the test was in progress. It was extremely distracting. I raised my hand to ask them to be quiet and they ignored me for several minutes after which point I gave up. It literally sounds crazy to retell this story (on what planet do test proctors talk for over an hour??), but I assure you that this is real life. They seemed to be disorganized and confused.

Facilities:

Old, shabby, public university. No distractions other than the proctors. No noise outside or in the hallway. Th bathroom seems to be close enough to the room, but i did not need to use it. They have vending machines in case you forget a snack.

What kind of room: Classroom with individual fold-over desks

How many in the room: I'd say around 40. Way too many for the size of the room. Although there were enough desks, we were packed too tight together. I could easily see the papers of the people in front and to the sides of me. it was also distracting to be seated so close to other people.

Desks:

Awful. They had these tiny fold-over school desks that are not big enough to fit an open test booklet. No room for scantron, extra pencils, eraser, ,watch etc. I had to hold my eraser and extra pencils in my lap. I kept worrying about my scantron falling from under my booklet.

Left-handed accommodation: Some lefty desks were available

Noise levels: Other than the proctors, I didn't experience any other distractions

Parking: Not sure, didn't drive

Time elapsed from arrival to test:

1-1.5 hours. We stood in line for about 20 minutes. But the check-in was excruciatingly slow. I would say at least 30 minutes just to check in and seat my room. Then we sat in the room for a while while they figured out the test center number, distributed the booklets, etc.

Irregularities or mishaps: none, other than the proctors talking and not knowing the correct test center number.

Other comments: Avoid this test center at all costs. All the warning signs were there, but I didn't bother to read the reviews.

Would you take the test here again? Absolutely not.

For NA questions, some of the answers are SA and NA together. I'm having trouble with this because there are other "trap" choices that I choose that wreck the argument and look correct. I can identify the SA answer, but i think it is wrong because it is too strong.

My question is: If there is a SA answer choice for an NA question, is it right every time? How can I tell when they're looking for both when it is not indicated in the question stem?

How was it different from PT 78?

I heard virus game and a couple of passage were difficult...But what about other games?

I watched the explanation video but I felt other games in the test seem relatively more difficult than previous tests too, isn't it?

It seems there are more inference because the videos are longer. (average 15 min)

What about LR section?

Thanks!
